@St-Sinner Well, that is your opinion is it not? But as a once 'Front-liner' I'll stick with mine since I presume you've never had any real dealings with the Front-line in Hospitals/Nursing, etc. Yes the ancilliary staff/workers do their bit BUT the Front-liners are WAY, WAY beyond the Ancilliary staff in what they are called upon to, to sacrifice from themselves and their private/family lives. As an old saying goes, "You'll never never know until you've gone there and done it."

One I did as a teenager that got a few stern looks from my Dad was to check and see if an ordinary person with a shortwave radio receiver and a piece of wire could tap into the phone line. It worked, no cut the insulation, no soldering, etc, just wound the wire around the phone line to the house, connected to the radio antenna, instant phone tapping.

@FrayedBear Vitamin C helps boost the natural immune system especially in we who are older than 50-55 years of age, Vitamin B12 is also suggested for those of us in that age range as the Ileum starts having difficulty in absorbing from the foods we eat normally. Oh yeah, instead of hand sanitizers, my good friend from the C.S.L. labs told me when we chatting on-line the other evening, try using Glen 20 Disinfectant Spray both around the house and ON yourself especially when going shopping, spray yourself, your hands and clothing with it, it lasts for approx. 3 hours at a time. They done extensive test using in the labs btw.

@mathman27 Since you ask, it is quite simple, a) ALL religious belief systems rely and depend on the gullibility of the consumers ( the Congregations), b) ALL religions expect/demand that their consumer base accepts what they are told without doubt or questioning the source/s, c) All religions are based upon NO proven, empirical facts or evidences what-so-ever and should such facts, etc, be requested they are merely shrugged off or responsed to with platitudes, etc, d) Man creates Gods/Deities, NOT Gods/Deities create man, e) FYI, the word Gospel is a 'portmaneu of 2 words, Good and spell, which came from times when magic, witches, wizardry where thought to be big things and any Spell/Hex, etc, that did no harm was called a Goodspell, f) Genesis, the book of the bible ( bible coming from the Greek meaning nothing more than a BOOK), tells that " and God said let US make man in our own image," if then that be so WHY are we all different from each other?. I could go on and on for almost an eternity listing copious reasons, etc, but I will not since you may, most likely, choose to ignore the facts proffered anyway.

@FrayedBear Certain forms of Pneumonia can be vaccinated against but ones resultant from other causes like Covid 19 for example cannot be vaccinated against as they are a side effect/resultant of the original infection. As I state before I suffered with countless bouts of pneumonia from childhood, the first occuring when I was just 7 months old, the last was when I 14 years old, I still have visible to x-rays scarring on my lungs from pneumonia, my lung capacity ranges from around 82 - 86% of the normal lung capacity which is why, on Medical Advice, I get my Flu Vaccinations EVERY year without fail, have been vaccinated against Tuberculosis, etc, etc, and take Vitamin C every day without fail.

Borders, south at Pooncarrie and again across to the same Borders it was vetoed, seemingly out of hand, by yet another of her 'Mayoral Minutes.' This region, if you check a map, IS isolated by distances already and enacting such a proposal would serve to enhance the protection of the populace no end. It was also proposed that ONLY essential services and transportation of Goods, etc, be permitted into the Isolation Zone, that was vetoed as well. I'm starting to think, seriously, that our Mayor is beginning to exhibit some symptoms of Delusions of Granduer of late.

Where I live, we are 500+ kilometres from the closest big city, Adelaide, Sth. Australia and so far NO cases reported here. Our local City Council met recently but REJECTED out of hand a motion put to it to isolate the region encompassing Broken Hill, Menindee, Wilcannia and the areas south and west of Broken Hill to a radius of 60+ kilometres. Bloody stupid to reject such a proposal in my opinion since we have the vast and almost empty spaces of the Outback to act as a shield of sorts.

@p-nullifidian Actually, here in Australia only the Doctor looking after the patient can order a blood transfusion and then it is ONLY done by Blood Typing, Rh factor and it MUST have checxked and cleared of any AIDS/HIV infection or Antigens first. This I know for a fact on account that, a) I was a practising nurse for many years, and, b) I was at my daughter's side 24/7 when she underwent Chemotherapy for Mature B Cell Lymphoma and the treatments often involve post therapy Blood Transfusions due to low Haemmoglobin and Platelet levels. @Petter Yes, well I'd rather see a ZERO Fatality Toll if it were possible that is, however given the ravages wrought by the Spanish Flu Epidemic of the 1918-19 era and the relatively 'primitive' travel modes at the time compared to today, I tend to think that, unless a Vaccine is found and released ASAP, the Death Toll will be much greater given that there are ever so many 'underdeveloped' countries, etc, that are in the 'firing line, ' so to speak, that weren't so well travelled to, etc, in the Spanish Flue Epidemic.
So far, and very thankfully, NO cases of Covid 19 reported or suspected here in Broken Hill, N.

@DenoPenno Malarial drugs are designed to work on the Malaria Parasite that causes malaria when the Anopheles mosquito has passed it on to you, most basic AntiMalaria drugs mostly allievate the symptoms such as Fever, etc, the heavier Antimalaria drugs are needed to actually destroy the Malaria Parasite. As with almost ALL viral infections there are very few Anti-viral drugs available and most, unlike the antibiotics, are specific to only certain viruses and the treatment of them, etc. Most 'over-the counter' Flu remedies have a very limited effect in that they treat/alleviate only the fevers, aches and pains, etc, NOT the actual viral infection. As a very old but none-the-less effective adage goes, " One should feed a cold and STARVE a Fever.," i.e. drink plenty of fluids with any fever since it works to help flush the viruses and their effects from the system. So, yes by all means use something like Asparin/Paracetamol to reduce the fever, the aches, etc, BUT drink as much fluids as possible because keep the body well hydrated is ESSENTIAL.

In actual fact, whenever anyone has a blood transfusion they can NEVER know where and from whom the blood was sourced originally since blood has NO identification markers unless a DNA test is performed on it.
