Yes, and I often wonder to myself just how many of these 'war crimes' committed by and were 'covered up' but the media and the Allies during wars/conflicts such as in WWII, Vietnam, Korea, etc, etc? For example, DID NOT America LITERALLY Fire Bomb cities in Japan killing and burning hundreds, if NOT thousands of INNOCENT, men, women, children and babies during WWII, was there a War Crimes Trial held over that, NO there wasn't. WHY wasn't there?

@MattHardy Yes, BUT as I stated earlier and re-state here as well, These so-called Laws are the inventions, for want of a better term, of MAN are they mot and based solely upon the OBSERVATIONS of Man with his, thus far, VERY limited scope of both Observation and Comprehension of the Immense Universe that surrounds this tiny little chunk of rock, water, etc, that orbits but one solar body amongst literally Billions. The human mind NEEDS to be able to rationalize EVERYTHING and Anything, that IS how we are SADLY, BUT who is to say for absolute CERTAINTY that that rationality exists or has ever existed in the Universe elsewhere? I, for one, have always been a 'think outside the box' kind of person and it HAS gotten me both into difficulties and helped me to resolve many a situation in my life-time and I shall remain a 'think outside of the box person until my dying breath just as have others before me and, hopefully, after me as well, for it IS and has been those Thinkers who have driven the wheels of Human Advancement since time immemorial.

Triphid replies on Oct 17, 2019:
@Jolanta I was NOT leveling the blame on the people of Canberra and the A.C.T. nor you either. But you have a lake full of water where we have, some 100lms away, a series of lakes AND a RIVER that is drier than a sun-bleached bone, a 500 million dollar pipeline that is NOT allowed to run at FULL capacity, Grazing Properties with stock and families, townships, etc, that are either running out of water altogether OR have NO water available what-so-ever and that IS happening, NOT just here but almost everywhere west of the Divide. And WHY you may ask, for 2 main reasons, A) The Cotton and Rice Growers were given absolute FREE rein to extract as much water from the Darling River as they saw fit, and, B) We ARE in one the worst droughts in living memory YET still the Cotton/Rice Growers above Bourke are allowed to extract even the smallest flows that reach them via the Darling and its tributaries. Now, we the people of Broken Hill are being told that the 500 million dollar GIFT of that pipeline from Wentworth to Broken Hill was NOT a gift and WE ALL must PAY an extra COST added to our already exorbitant quarterly Water Rates Bills to PAY for that 'GIFT.' That 500 million dollars would have been better spent on dredging the silt from the Lakes Water Storage Scheme and our local Reservoirs plus replacing the original Menindee to Broken Hill Pipeline which has served this region for well over 50+ years WITHOUT FAIL.

Triphid replies on Oct 17, 2019:
@TheMiddleWay Yes, a Photon is a CHARGED particle of Light and emits Light as well. And, as per my years and years as both an Amateur Radio Operator and a qualified Technician working on appliances such as televisions, radios, Stereophonic systems, etc, etc, plus designing AND build my OWN HIGH Gain Transceivers and Antennae, an ELECTRICAL Charge or force is the resultant of the excitation of the electrons surrounding-orbiting the atoms of a conductor such as copper wire for example and as such an excitation occurs it traverse from one electron shell to the next and so forth, whilst doing that it creates, also, a detectable EM field that radiates from the conductor, either horizontally, IF the conduct is placed in a HORIZONTALLY polarized position and in a horizontal wave pattern OR in 360 degree wave pattern IF the conduct is placed in the Vertically polarized position. And as such, since we humans have had electricity grids for almost 100+years then this planet HAS been emitting into the Universe a steady EM signal ( i.e. Radio Signal) at a frequency of approximately 50Hz or 50 Cycles per Second and that signal travels through space at a velocity of approx. 300,000 Kilometres per Second, i.e, the Speed of Light itself. The light emitted by a Photon covers the entire spectrum of light, from Infrared light through to Ultraviolet in case you were unaware, Infrared being at the 'slowest' end of the speed of light and Ultraviolet being at the 'fastest' end of the speed of light btw. And, as any reasonable Grade 10 science student can and will tell you, an atom consists of a Nucleus containing mainly Protons and Neutrons PLUS from 1 to a number of Electron SHELLS around the Nucleus BUT NOT actually physically in contact with the Nucleus.

Egyptians were excellent stone masons from around the times of Djoser and Khufu, Kings of Egypt at the beginning of the OLD Kingdom some 3,000+ years ago. So chronologically and TRUE Historically it puts your vaunted and beloved Hebrews still wandering around as nomadic goat-herders and worshipping gods like Baal, Ishtar and Mithras, etc, NOT their nythical Invisible, Imaginary Sky Daddy, Jehovah or Yahweh, etc. Again TRUTH and Facts have once more shown bible history and YOURSELF the door, so, PLEASE, try NOT to let it hit you in the arse on your way.

Triphid replies on Oct 16, 2019:
@blahblah The MYTHOLOGICAL jesus is, in all fact and Historical FACT merely an amalgamation of numerous other mythological figures from even older and more ancient cultures that preceded the invention of Judaism and its somewhat bastard child, Christianity. The ancient Greeks had numerous tales of children/heroes born from the unions between Zeus and mortal women, Demigods to give the correct title or name to be precise), the Roman Aristocratic families often 'claimed to descended from Gods and Goddesses as well, e.g. the Julian family ( Gaius Julius Caesar being a member of the Julian family) claimed to be DIRECT descendants of the Goddess Venus, ancient Egyptian religion claimed that Horus, son of Osiris and Isis was born when Isis was a virgin, was put to death and resurrected just a Horus searched for the body parts of his father, Osiris, after his uncle, Set/Seth/Sutek slew him, cut him into 4 equal parts and hid them across the lands, so that Isis and her sister could put them back together nd resurrect him again. Plus, given that according to the Roman Calendar, and that the 'deci' in DECEMBER refers to being the number 10 and NOT the number 12, the month known as December I, in actual FACT, the 10th. month and not the 12th. month as it is now, then, IF, this jesus was born at all he would have been born in mid-Autumn(Fall) and NOT in mid-winter as the bible claims. You see now, FACT overrules and defeats fiction every time. As far you analogy that those who are ardent followers of the entirely FICTITIOUS " Harry Potter books, etc," are members of a "new" religion, therefore that self-same analogy YOU have made MUST ring 100% TRUE for Christianity as well. Though I will admit that it MAY seems that some fans/followers of fictitious stories/books do appear to be 'religious' about the subjects they enjoy or involved with, there IS a difference, a very VAST difference btw, between being a follower of a religion and being someone who IS 'religious' about something or subject. Perhaps, just perhaps, you may consider studying the usages and meanings of words, grammar, etc, a wee bit MORE before posting in the future, BUT that IS merely a suggestion btw.

@TheMiddleWay Yes, Gravity does cause a kind of warp/curvature in the space-time around the object ACCORDING to the Hypothesis/Theory that has been put forward. And, in my opinion, that is kind of like saying that " When I flick on the switch to turn the light on the electrons miles away at the Power station all rush along the wires to make the light bulb glow." Well, that is NOT how it works, the copper electrons in the wires NEVER change position as such, they merely gather the charge from Generators and pass that charge on from one to the next and so on, i.e. a PROVE electrical FACT not a theory/Hypothesis I you can understand the difference. But electrical 'force' is NOT "due to the mediation of photons, etc," it IS the interaction between ELECTRONS and to some extent with the Protons in the nucleus of the atoms they orbit around whereas Photons are charged particles that emit light generated by entirely DIFFERENT methods to the generation of electricity.

@FearlessFly And who, except them, is to say they were right or wrong, after all these 'Laws' of Science ARE really only accepted hypotheses are they not, there IS NO 'Users Manual' or 'Instructions Book' floating around in the Universe is there? For example, the Moon orbits the Earth by both being 'captured' by the gravity of the Earth BUT it is also being drawn/repelled AWAY from the Earth by its motion (orbit) and its own gravity working slowly against that of the Earth. Ergo, gravity can be both attraction and repulsion at the same time can it not, just as the North poles of two magnets repel each other?

@MattHardy Avionics is all about Aerodynamics, i.e. lift, thrust and weight versus gravity and friction to put it in fairly simple terms. Humans, for one example, are NOT aerodynamically shaped via the evolutionary processes, sadly, BUT through thinking OUTSIDE of the box/s, in just over a century, thanks to those who decided to NOT remain held down by the 'inside the box thinking ideologies' humans can now fly across continents and oceans in aircraft that were once thought impossible just as it was once widely 'claimed' and adhered to that " No human being could EVER physically run the distance of ONE mile in less than 4 minutes'" well that 'Law' has gone down the tubes as well. These so-called 'Laws' of Science, Physics and the Universe, etc, are there to be bent or broken, they ARE NOT inscribed in stone, they are, at best, merely hypotheses.

About 4 or so years ago my very good friend, a REAL computer Whizz Kid btw, designed and created a program we call Hacker-Scammer Nuke as a bit of a fun name. What 'Nuke' does is this, 1) it detects a hacker trying to access your computer, etc, then traces the hacker back via his own programming, etc, then release a very nasty little 'worm' into his/her equipment that wipes everything out completely, or, 2) tap onto something that looks very much like it may be a scam and, voila, it goes through its paces, reveals to you the exact name, location, etc, etc, and if it is a scam or not. He tried to get certain computer programming companies interested in the program BUT for some 'unknown' reason they all declined.

When he first moved in, AFTER his mother bought the house for him btw, he used a Bobcat and a Tipper truck to remove, at a rough guess, about 7 tons of the top soil, digging his backyard down to well below the level of the lane outside his yard. I'm waiting and hoping that when we finally get out of this drought and the rains come again, in bloody heavy torrents as they sometimes do, he MAY learn his lesson when his entire backyard ends up under about 2 or more feet of water from the run-off from the laneway since his place is the lowest in the entire block. Triphid replies on Oct 10, 2019:
Yeah, wear a high vis jacket to save you from work injuries and get 3rd degree burns from it in the meantime, makes real sense to me, NOT. Kind of like the safety flags we were told to use on the railways when working under the rail wagons to repair/adjust the brakes, etc, ONLY the Shunting Crews would ignore them and start moving the wagons WHILE you were under them anyway. A work-mate of mine got dragged about 60 feet when the Shunters moved the a string of wagons he was working under, got a fine for NOT having the flags in place WHEN he actually put them in place himself and the Shunters were seen by the Track maintenance Crew working on a nearby section of the line. Yep, work safety equipment really works BUT only if, A) it is used correctly, and, B) IF everyone else actually follows the rules as well.

@Remiforce Technically speaking, dogs as we know them today did NOT actually evolve into the various kinds there are, they were actually 'forced' to breed into those kinds and shapes by the owners/breeders using a kind of selective breeding and NOT the real processes of evolution. For example, the squashed in noses of bulldogs, pugs, etc, is NOT a natural occurrence and actually is harmful and restricts the dogs breathing, German Shepherds, etc, have inherent diseases such as Hip Displasia thanks to human meddling, British Bulldogs ( the so-called pure breds) are unable to mate without human assistance/intervention since the 'adaptations' forced onto the breed over centuries has made it virtually impossible for the female to bear the excess weight of the mounted male during copulation, similar goes for sheep, cats, cattle, horses, birds, etc, the list is almost endless as to the species humans have meddled with and in thus causing often disastrous adaptions purely for aesthetic reasons.

You are 100% correct with that one. I have just finished reading the translated 'journals' of the life and discoveries of Hypatia of Alexandria written by her personal Scribe, Hepastius. I then watched the movie "Agora" based, but a wee bit dramatized, which depicts, quite vividly to say the very least, the events that unfolded when the new Christian Faith went on rampage through Alexandria, raping and slaughtering anyone who refused to be baptized and destroying innumerable works of knowledge, works of art, etc, contained in the Great library of Alexandria as well. Hypatia herself was charged with being a 'witch' by both the Bishop of Cyrene and the militant arm of the Christian Movement, the Parablani, and was sentenced to STONED to Death in the Serapisium ( converted to a Christian Church) after being stripped naked by those self-same Christian Parablani. To say that the actions of those 'Christians' were HORRIFIC would be an ENORMOUS understatement at very minimum and one can only wonder at what knowledge was completely lost to human kind with destruction of such a great library and ALL due entirely to Christian Zealotry and religious madness. I personally recommend to fellow Atheists and Agnostics the movie " Agora" since IT IS based almost ENTIRELY upon FACTS, historical FACTS btw, BUT be well aware, you WILL need a strong stomach.

Triphid replies on Oct 6, 2019:
@JacobMeyers Technically both the biblically mythological Adam and Eve would have had EXACTLY the same genes and genetic make-up since, according to the myth, Eve WAS created from tissue material TAKEN from Adam, ergo that same tissue would have been carrying Testosterone in large amounts thus making him a male and very minute amounts of estrogen, not enough to alter the resultant 'person' from masculine to feminine. Human embryos, in the early stages of gestation are non-gender specific UNTIL, at a certain stage of gestation, either a 'rush' of testosterone or estrogen occurs then the gender is actually determined though there are cases where the developing embryo receives equal doses of both sex hormones at the same time in gestation and then a condition known as Hermaphroditism ( taken from the 2 ancient Greek names of Hermes and Aphrodite ) results in a body with traits of both genders, i.e. a penis like a male and later, during puberty, breasts develop that are distinctly female and NOT merely 'man boobs' so to speak. THAT is but ONE those malformations/ deformations of which I mentioned earlier.
Genetically speaking, could Adam and Eve have existed?

The inbreeding would take hold pretty quick making most humans sterile a few generations in Moms dads daughters brothers sons sisters would all have to breed to populate. It’s all rather gross really.

@JacobMeyers Sir, I don't know where you get or got your medical information from BUT after v3 years of training to be a Nurse ( which involved very intensive studying of human anatomy, genetics, etc, etc,) plus 7 years more as fully qualified Nurse working in Hospitals I can tell you that inbreeding between very close genetic relatives DOES often cause physical deformities in the offspring of such unions as well as spontaneous miscarriages/abortions.

Triphid replies on Oct 6, 2019:
Physical deformations rather than sterility would have been the biggest outcome by far with all the in-breeding needed to make a population from 2 only original parents, especially considering that by " creating Eve from the bone taken from Adam then Eve WOULD have a Steve rather than an Eve in the first since, even with modern cloning techniques, it is almost impossible to create a female clone using cloning tissue taken from a male donor.

Was not their SOLE reason for seceding from the Northern States their BELIEF in their RIGHT to keep NON-European peoples of African Origins as SLAVES/Chattel and breeding stock to either work their land and crops for them or to be sold at markets for the best price possible?

I loved the sin of "self-abuse", which is catholic speak for masturbation. Confession was an ordeal that no kid should have to endure. It would have been fun if once a year you got to hear the priest's confession. Oh what real sins would have been revealed!!!

@LenHazell53 While studying for my ThD I attended numerous churches ( for research purposes only btw), etc, of the Xrstian 'Faith' one being the Mormons, one day the subject being addressed was about woman and them wiping their 'private parts' after peeing. The Elder giving the 'lecture' stated that " It was considered INDECENT and an affront to God and Jesus SHOULD a woman cleanse her private part by using more than 1 piece of toilet tissue and more than 1 single upward wiping motion SINCE it may be construed by God/Jesus as being a blatant attempt to cause self sexual arousal." He then asked if anyone had a question they'd would like answered so I asked " If sexual arousal and orgasm occurred in a woman during sexual intercourse was permitted by God/Jesus?" His reply was simply, " The woman is there ONLY to receive the seed of the man, her husband, sexual intercourse IS her duty and she will have sinned before God and Jesus should she EVER find ANY enjoyment in it at all." After that 'lecture' I thought to myself " Is it any wonder why you seldom see Mormon women looking at the husbands with 'loving' smiles on their faces."

I reckon they never will since it makes too much money in royalties and exports for the Money-Grubbing Governments. Oh, and let's not forget the Chinese as well, since they OWN about 50% or more of Cubbie Station, etc. Plus, I have a sneaking suspicion that there may be a push somewhere to drive everyone away from the Darling River and the Great Menindee Lakes Water Storage Scheme system with the intent of turning it ALL over to the Cotton/Rice Growers.

There are records from the Second Council of Nicaea that show that it was decided to CREATE a heroic persona to legitimize the whole bible story, ergo, jesus IS nothing more than a massive P.R. job at the very best.

If the inventers of Christianity lived a little South of there he would have been. Just as if Americans had been born in the middle East we'd be Muslim. And yes, there probably still would have been slavery. That's a human fallibility thing... Just like the religion we invented.
Triphid replies on Oct 2, 2019:
The Islamic religion only came in being some 400+ years post the invention of Xrstianity in case you are unaware. Islam was, historically, the invention of the belligerent, deranged mind of the vengeance driven Outcast Bedouin presumably called Muhammed (Mohammed which ever way you wish to spell it) and has NO true historical legitimacy behind it as do either Xrstianity or Judaism. But hey, that's beside the point since IF there were a jesus then his lineage would have been either Middle Eastern thus having dark skin and Arabic style features OR even, perhaps, a Semite-Roman crossbreed with both semitic features intermingled with the North-Western olive skin complexion and Italian features as well.

@Transition1 Exactly, I once spent 7 hours a day, for 3 weeks straight 'helping' a SUPPOSED friend to convert an enclosed veranda into a walk-in closet and dressing room. Was promised by this 'friend and his wife' that they'd pay me for my time and effort, morning and afternoon tea/coffee breaks and lunch would be provided and the 'friend' would act as laborer/assistant to me. First few days I got the coffee free at break times and a lunch consisting of 1 cheese sandwich, after that I was informed that I'd need to bring my own lunch and coffees each day. As for my laborer/assistant, WELL, he was as much use as tits on a bull to say the very least and when it came to actually cutting through the adjacent wall to make an archway, well he managed to not only completely screw that simple job up but also had A) forgotten to remove the corrugated iron sheeting first, b) did NOT remember to clean up and dust, etc, accumulated in the wall cavity, hence the dust, etc, caught fire, and C) managed to cut through the electrical wiring as well, electrical wiring that I had taken great efforts to locate and avoid when planning the archway in the first place. Never saw a brass razoo for my efforts even after they later sold the house for double what they had originlly paid for it.
This came up on another post, but your opinions please ?
