What do you do better than anyone else?
TristanNuvo comments on Sep 7, 2018:
Everything. lol :)
What ugly thoughts do...
TristanNuvo comments on Sep 7, 2018:
I'm not quite how sure how I may look to others, but I try (sometimes it's hard with my mental disorder) as much as I can to be polite, and as cordial as I can. That's one of the reasons I love being a volunteer at the homeless shelter. If I can do something that makes a person have some optimism, Well, that just makes me feel like I have something to contribute to the world. This reminds me of a quote from Dr. Neil DeGrasse Tyson.
How long should a woman chat with a man without him thinking she is into him ?
TristanNuvo comments on Sep 6, 2018:
Tits or GTFO. I'm only kidding. To be honest, it's a harder problem than I can just give an answer to, because people are different, plus, one never really understands the baggage that each still caries. The only thing that's worked for me was to be as honest, and open as I can. No BS, just what I feel. I'd rather find out that this was wrong earlier on, than to find out it wasn't going to work after a lot of time was spent.
War & Peace My childhood was lined with war tales told by the losers.

TristanNuvo comments on Sep 6, 2018:
First off, Welcome. I was very surprised at just how many Floridians there are here. All great peeps.
What is the best thing to do when someone says something to you you find offensive?
TristanNuvo comments on Sep 6, 2018:
Actually, to be honest there isn't much that I find offensive when it's aimed at me. But I will get in someones face when they are being real offensive to another.
Are you an early bird or night owl?
TristanNuvo comments on Sep 6, 2018:
I'm usually up at around 5ish, But i am by any means a morning person. I'm a total zombie untill my coffee, and my meds kick in.
What is a motivating incentive for you?
TristanNuvo comments on Sep 6, 2018:
I write and play music. When an idea pops in my head I get pretty excited, and very motivated to turn it into a song.

TristanNuvo comments on Sep 6, 2018:
I just commented on another post about this very thing. Essentially, I feel and act the same way you do. Oh, and Welcome.
When do you feel safe to talk about your beliefs/nonbeliefs?
TristanNuvo comments on Sep 6, 2018:
I've never been a believer, I was lucky enough to have not grown up in a religious household, So I've never had the 'Coming out' experience. I've always been open about my non-belief to every one. In fact some of my best friends are believers and we get along great. I've never been one to be pushy, even in a discussion or a debate, i will still be cordial, and in turn they are the same way with me. There have been some times where some one was an asshole about it (and I've seen that from both sides). Normally I just walk away from that.
On Halloween Eve .....

TristanNuvo comments on Sep 6, 2018:
I have a love/hate relationship with the voices in my head. Sometimes they are scary, sometimes rather funny.
Let's try this again.

“The more I live, the more I learn.
TristanNuvo comments on Sep 5, 2018:
I was put in an 'accelerated' school back in the day, and it was the perfect thing for me. We weren't taught to just read a chapter, memorize it. We on the other hand we were taught A quote, or some moment in history, and given to apply critacal thinking. we had the opportunitly to research the topic at hand, reasearch our findings. I wish that there were more schools were like that.
So hey, If you are going to block me then you are not going to be allowed to post in my group.
TristanNuvo comments on Sep 5, 2018:
First off, sweet pumpkin. I've learned that the people that 'block' others is just their way of blasting that they have no objective retort. So rather than concede that they may be wrong on a topic, they will simply resort to just block. IMHO those people are simpolton cunts. Now I can take the time and just wait for the other shoe to drop. I'm sure that I hve to have to offened some one. Which is cool, I love pushing buttons.
I know this isn't really the group for this, but this and one other are the two I am most ...
TristanNuvo comments on Sep 5, 2018:
I really understand what you mean about school.I went back at the age of 49. Stuck with it and got my BA in Network, and Database. I had a much better attitude doing that at an older age. When I was younger I don't think I would have stayed with it. Best of luck to you on your education.

How does one go about being a polite atheist?
TristanNuvo comments on Sep 5, 2018:
I don't honestly think being an Atheist, or a believer has any bearing on being polite. I've seen both. I've known believer to be rude, and pushy and very impolite, I've also known some that are truly good people. The same thing applies to Atheists as well.
What is more important book knowledge or experience?
TristanNuvo comments on Sep 5, 2018:

Am I the only one here because the other meme groups are full of hate mongers?
TristanNuvo comments on Sep 3, 2018:
I am, and always been a proponent of that one can joke about anything, There is a huge difference betreen comedy, and intent. I am way more than tired of people that are so easily offended about just about anything. True you will mainly find me to be as cordial as possible in my normal posrs, but I will admit to having a dark side, where I will comment to, and post some crazy shit.

There simply way too many to list. But I can say that favor those who do talk about anti-religion, and yet are huge proponent of Reaching out to people about Science, and critical thinking. That to me is more important than just bashing religion. Dawkins, Tyson,Krauss,Nye, Thunderfoot, PZ Meyres. just to name a few. Don't get me wrong, I do love Those who fight the good fight so to speak in regards about Atheism. Hitch, Harris, Darkmatter2525, Dillihunty, Carrier, and many others.

Today is the first day of Suicide Prevention Awareness Month.
TristanNuvo comments on Sep 2, 2018:
Having Scizoaffective disorder, Suicidal thoughts are something I deal with almost every day. The time when it hits me the most is when I first wake up. At that point I haven't taken my medication yet So most of my symptoms are fairly strong. It's not usually about depression, i just feel this overwhelming sense of, I just don't think i can deal with another day. Thankfully I have a great therapist and we've worked on some tools to use to minimise those kind of thoughts. where it used to be in my head for hours, sometimes all day, Ive learned to have it only last for about an hour, and then I'm fine. I don't know why it happens because most of the time I really enjoy life. But Schizoaffective disorder isn't ever going to go away or be cured, So I work hard at dealing with combating the symptoms that I endure. That's one of the reasons I volunteer at the homeless shelter. Helping people gives me the sense of feeling that I am worthy of being alive, and I am not as damaged as the voices try to tell me. Yes, it is a struggle sometimes, but I honestly believe it's worth the fight.

TristanNuvo comments on Sep 1, 2018:
I have all my life tried as much as I can NOT to inherent anything from my father. He was beyond abusive, mentally and physically. That's one of the reasons i've never had children, I could not bear the chance that I might turn out like him. And I could never do that to a child. I do think I did pretty well in my life as for how I treat others, but i always have that fear. As for my good qualities, I got that from my mother , and grandmother. I have always been very tight with both of them.

TristanNuvo comments on Aug 31, 2018:
I'll go as far as saying that there could be a good connection, Some chemistry even. But as far as anything farther, I non't think i can until I actually meet them. Some people don't act in real life as they do on a blog site. I have to be clear on this, as to say, not every one does this. I have met quite a few people from online places like some online games, to blog sites etc.. Most were exactly the way they seemed in real life just the way they the are online. But I've met a few that were anything but the same as the person they portray to be on line. Maybe it's just me, but That is the reason I will only go so far with another until we actually meet in person.

Not that it really matters but Jason Mamoa does look like the first pic. Loved him in Game of Thrones. But I do get your point about what some one shows what they really look like, or a fake what they want you to think they look like. I guess that could be said that it goes for how people act. I've learned from experience that some people are just as fake about what they portray, vrs, who they really are.
This goes for men and women alike.
