So bad at flirting...
TristanNuvo comments on Aug 3, 2018:
I'm usually fairly perceptive when some one is flirting with me, which is a nice feeling,....Sometimes. I can only think of a few things that are more uncomfortable than when I am aware that some one is flirting with me that I have no interest in at all, and they keep at it. So, if I'm ever flirting with someone and I get the sense that they are not interested, I'll just stop. Which has happened before.
What are your plans for the rest of the summer?
TristanNuvo comments on Aug 2, 2018:
I live in Florida, so my plans are the same as any other time of the year. Although, A lot of my old friends from up north come down and stay a while. we always have a great time. A little beach, a little sight seeing, a Lot of drinking. Some great cook outs, remenicing, and catching up. So I guess in a way those are my plans for the summer.
What is your strangest talent? How did you discover it?
TristanNuvo comments on Aug 2, 2018:
I don't know if I have any 'Talents'. I am good at quite a few things, but I put a lot of work and time to be able to do that.
Pros and cons of asking a friend or colleague to set you up with someone...and go!
TristanNuvo comments on Aug 2, 2018:
I've never asked a friend to do that. But I have had friends set me up with some a few times. It really wasn't that uncomfortable at all. I do understand that sometimes it's hard to ask someone you are interested in out on your own. Some people are just to shy to do that. Only once did it not go well, we had nothing in common, but we were nice to each other. Sometimes the romantic part wasn't really there, but we did get along rather well. Some I am still friends with. Once it did work out really well and dated for quite a while. So it can happen.

Is it odd to occasionally look up and wonder... Is any of this real?
TristanNuvo comments on Aug 2, 2018:
I have Scitzo-Affective disorder. And there are a lot of symtoms that go along with having that. I do have to take meds, and I do see a shrink, and a therapist. But rather than letting that get me down, I try to focus on positive things. I volunteer at a homeless shelter along with quite a few other people. All of the others there are real friendly, and just want to help people. In my book that is a positive thing. I try and focus on the fact that there are a lot of others that do wonderful things for others. And again That is a positive thing. Don't get me wrong, I do have my bad days when the depression is really bad, but I've learned some tools to help me through that. I make it a point once or twice a week of posting a vid that has people helping people, or people helping animals. Those kind of things are very uplifting to me. I do agree there is a lot of shit out there, and some horrible people. But I'd rather focus on the ones that are not.

TristanNuvo comments on Aug 2, 2018:
I used to have all kinds of problems like that with my phone. Then I found out that for an extra $15. I can tether my phone to PC and have internet on there. Where I live there is no cable or phone lines. so I didn't have any other way to get on the net other than my phone. But now I have both.

What is "the sixth sense" of yours?
TristanNuvo comments on Aug 2, 2018:
I'm not sure if this classifies as a 'sixth' sennce, but I can read people rather well. I think it all started with having an abusive father. I could tell just by looking at him when shit was about to go down. Aside from that I guess it mostly comes from experience from being around people for so many years.

Importance of Religion/Lack Thereof in Daily Life?
TristanNuvo comments on Aug 2, 2018:
I volunteer at a homeless shelter that is a church run organization. They know I'm an Atheist, and it doesn't matter to them. I don't preach to them, and they do the same.Even though we have different beliefs it doesn't matter because in the end we all get along just great. What really matters is that we are there to help people. BTW, in the years I've been there I've actually met some that were Atheist's as well.

Show of hands. Who would rather go to the mountains than the beach? Anyone else?

Honestly I like both. I grew up in the mountains. Now I live on the beach. To me they both have their merits.
What is the ONE thing that makes you the happiest?
TristanNuvo comments on Aug 2, 2018:
I can't give just ONE answer, but I'll limit to a couple of things. My music. Making people happy. And things I wish I had would be that I didn't have schizo-affective disorder, and I wish My best friend were still alive.
What's the last book you read that you really enjoyed? I just finished "Dear Hamilton", loved it.

People will respect you if you respect them? True or false?
TristanNuvo comments on Aug 2, 2018:
I try to be respectful to every one. But i think there is a difference between respectful, and respect. Respectful is just another way I like to be kind. Respect is something that is earned. JMHO.
One choice! IF THERE'S ONE thing in your life that you could change what would it be?

Why does this community have to be so harsh?
TristanNuvo comments on Aug 1, 2018:
I've not been here all that long. But I can say that just about every one That I have got a reply or a comment from has been rather nice. Even when we might disagree we are civil. I've really only met one person here that was rather rude. But otherwise, this is the only place I've really felt comfortable opening up and sharing what's on my mind. It's like my new home.
This is what my job entails.
TristanNuvo comments on Aug 1, 2018:
Don't get me wrong, It's not so much my job that has anything I love, although I do like my job. But the thing I really love is that I volunteer at a homeless shelter often. I love helping people as much as I can. An every now and the I get the chance to talk to some one who is down and try ti lift their spirits. And when it works, that's the best feeling in the world.

It's never happened to me. All of my relationships that ended were because one of us moved out of state, or we just agreed that we were better as friends that in a romantic relationship. I am still friends with every one I've had a relationship with.
Could you master your mind? Or how well do you master your mind?
TristanNuvo comments on Jul 31, 2018:
It's hard for me to say about if that is true for most people or not. For me it's not something I can't do. I have schizo-affective disorder. Which means I hear and see things that are not really there. Through medication, and therapy I've been slowly getting a little better. I have to take baby steps to try and change how I deal with that. but there is no cure. So mastering my mind is not really an option for me.
"You raise your voice when you should reinforce your argument.
TristanNuvo comments on Jul 31, 2018:
I never raise my voice, or insult some one to win an argument or a discussion. I'd rather be calm and present the facts as well as I think, and i am open to hear what they might have to say. every now and then their points may change my mind, maybe I might change theirs. I'm always open minded. An I generally like to have discussions with people that do the same If some one starts with the insults to me, I'll just walk away, or if some one tries to troll me in a post, I simply wont respond. I just refuse to give them the satisfaction.

Koch-backed study finds ‘Medicare for All’ would save U.S. trillions – ThinkProgress
TristanNuvo comments on Jul 31, 2018:
I'm on disability, and for now that gets me medicare A, and B,plus medicade. They take $100 out my check for that, but I don't mind, it's WAY cheaper than trying to get other health insurance. Although, I am very nervous that Trump might take that away. I won't be able to live if that happens.
New Atheism, Worse Than You Think
TristanNuvo comments on Jul 31, 2018:
There are some people that take things to far, even Atheists. I read an article once of a group was trying to make an Atheist church. And others wanted to make an Atheist bible. My only guess is that most of them were once believers and just miss that kind of community.
Do you believe in E.S.P?
TristanNuvo comments on Jul 31, 2018:
The JREF (James Randi Education Foundation) has for decades now offered 1 million dollars to any one that can prove that they have Psychic powers. Many have tried, now one has ever won. Most of the so called Pro's that have TV shows and such always refuse to take the challenge. I wonder why?
Location envy.
TristanNuvo comments on Jul 31, 2018:
I live in Clearwater Florida. It's on the water so we always have a nice breeze. It's not for every one, but I love living here. I do have some friends from back up north that come down to visit, and I've heard a few say sometimes, I would love to live down here.
When others question their faith...
TristanNuvo comments on Jul 31, 2018:
I have. I would never try try to push my non-beliefs on any one. But instead I will offer how I deal with situations like that. And try to be as supportive as much as I can. But I've also had some friends that were on the fence, and asked me questions. Then I will gladly share about my life as a non-believer. Sometimes planting seeds and letting them think works a lot better that flat out tell them that god and such is BS.
Can men and women just be friends?

Think about this now. How long do you think you could go without judging someone?
TristanNuvo comments on Jul 31, 2018:
I volunteer at a homeless shelter I don't judge any one there. I know what it's like. I was homeless once myself. So I try to help as much as I can. That being said. I do sometimes judge some people. Mainly people that are rude.
Musical attraction
TristanNuvo comments on Jul 31, 2018:
I've been a guitar player most of my life, been a ton of bands over the years. I've been fairly diverse in what i've played over the years. Rock, Metal, Jazz, Classical. But for a long time now I've been writing and recording Spanish guitar. something about it makes me feel good to play and hear it. I have a few friends that play as well and we get together every so often, drink some wine, and play some great music. It's a great time for me. But to answer the question, i would have to say other guitar players. I love to get inspiration from other guitarists. Here's one of mine. https://youtu.be/gaMtnqyRnq4

TristanNuvo comments on Jul 30, 2018:
There are other people like that. I know one of them. My friend Walt is a millionaire, and he (like me) volunteer at a homeless shelter. He will always give people rides to their appointments.Take people to the DMV to help them get their Id's or drivers license, and He'll pay for it. He's paid for and brought dinner for every one at the site a few times. And is always there to lift someones spirits when they are down. But I do agree. there should be more of them.

TristanNuvo comments on Jul 27, 2018:
I take issue with you comment, ' no one is exempt'. I for one do not have any such hang ups. Yes I do have my hopes and dreams about farthing the undrstanding of evolutionary biology, advances in cosmology and others. But I do not 'believe' in anything that can't be shown with empiracle evidence. I'f some how things like ESP, or mediums that talk to the dead, and so forth it would be testable and come up with conclusive results. Therefore If proven right, it would no longer be 'super natural' it would just be a fact. I trully do not see that happening.
