@Varn - I don't know who pissed in your cornflakes and don't care. You're a big boy. Figure it out for yourself. Any of these political calculations start with ascertaining the facts. You seem to be adverse to them, choosing to view them exclusively through a partisan lens. I respect those holding a magnifying glass in a nonpartisan manner to all things being examined. I think that is the very nature of rationalism and critical thinking. YMMV.

I think that it is very unlikely that Zuckbook has trained his bots. to understand quotation mark, or that he even cares. Pity you did not quote Goebbels, I think that Zuckbook is using him as a model.
WilliamCharles replies on Sep 7, 2020:
I think just the opposite. Any Nazi mention is flagged as Nazi support. That's as sophisticated as it it needs to get. Zuck cares about being painted as facilitating baddies, and sees no downside to casting the net in far too wide a fashion.

Looks like today’s lot of politicians are still reading from the Goering instruction manual.
WilliamCharles replies on Sep 6, 2020:
My friend Bernie the Attorney called it the 80/20 rule (a variation of the Pareto Principle) He figured 20% of any subgroup are jerks (extreme Machiavelians) in the overall political duopoly. In the breakdown of a system where 50%+1 is winner take all, each side jockeying for power only needs to win over enough to cross that 50% threshold. It seems both sides have decided to make their cases largely tailored to how it resonates emotionally. People are not looked at as closely with regard to their positions, but the boxes they check off. Does it matter if people from either side to try to make it about integrity when they don't apply equal standards? A party's operatives or supporters can look like a Bennington ad, but if their positions are troubling, do they seem to get a pass? The MSM has certainly let us down. There’s and extent where all deal with agendas and omissions. I think the most glaring examples are the truth-tellers such as before the Iraq war that get the story right, but aren't then featured regularly of at all. Just the same faces that pushed lies knowingly or via ignorance in the service if their paymasters. In almost any other profession, they'd be rewarded for seeing ahead of the curve like that.

By law, the new flag cannot include the Confederate battle flag, and it must have the phrase, “In God We Trust.” Law needs to be changed.
WilliamCharles replies on Sep 3, 2020:
@Beowulfsfriend The new designation might be the Neo-Confederate battle flag, or the Neo-Confederate "Stars and Bars" (as "stars and bars" was also incorrectly applied if I'm not mistaken).

I'm actually most encouraged by so many others seeing things as they are. There's no reason for me to validate the corporatocracy or oligarchy. Ask yourself why, when it is clear that Trump is such an utter trainwreck, that Joe Biden is the one who is needed to dethrone him? If the DNC ran virtually anyone with any genuine appeal, Dolt 45 would be toast. Instead, they deem Creepy Uncle Joe the "safe" choice. That must have inluded calculations that people like me wouldn't vote for him. They fvcked around, and now they're gonna find out. Their vote shaming will likely be as effective as it was for Team Hillary.

WilliamCharles replies on Sep 2, 2020:
I've never voted for a Republican candidate for president in my life and never will. I've always voted for the Democratic presidential ticket since Jimmy Carter up to Barack Obama (twice). Rigging primaries to foist lackluster corporate Dem candidates on the base was the last straw. Establishment Dem leadership is killing the party with their stranglehold as they desperately try to maintain their death grip on the reins of power. Fuggum. #FUDNC #FCKBDN

@think-beyond - what I'm seeing is fighting one sort of demagoguery with another. If you make it a popularity contest, it ceases to be rational. It then becomes too easy to manipulate with a pick your side/anti-side. It declares this thing bad/not bad instead of being about "here's what we do about it." They need to either get an honest republic, or expect defections from being treated like an annoyance by those in positions of power.

Bernie's team was there (Nina Turner, Cornel West... ) so I still give him some credit. For whatever reason, he feels some obligation to the party apparatus.
