Being young and trans in a world where trans simply doesn’t exist did nothing to discourage who I knew I was all along. Being trans has no resemblance to joining anything. No more then you can change your sexual preference, not that it’s a preference, it’s more important and it’s personal and I shouldn’t have to explain any of it because technically, and this is true, it’s no one else’s fucking business.

@starwatcher-al It's not as cut and dry as that. I was in Japan walking through a very very wide ally between four story buildings, about fifty to seventy five yards apart. Maybe a quarter mile long. Midway a rock smacked me in the middle of my back. I looked all around, I yelled, I assumed someone threw that rock, but it would have been a hell of a hit for that distance. The rock was stony and ambient temperature. I just see nowhere else it could have come from, and it hurt when it hit.
I didn't even consider the possibility until I watched meteor men and they were talking about finding meteors on ice. They explained small meteors can break away and cool as they slow down.
I wish I had kept the rock...I was just mad someone could bean me from so far away I couldn't detect them until then.

I do the AI stuff for fun, the work they pay me for is control technology with cloud access and statistical analysis for predictive maintenance. Mostly in the form of equipment performing their own self diagnostics. Airports are becoming semi sentient and self aware especially in ground support equipment and resource management and scheduling all being affected by maintenance down time.
My 400hz power converters occasionally blow out an IGBT, it's like a small bomb went off. We monitor the temperature, there's a predictive rise in temperature letting us know failure is imminent and when by the rise over time. This works 72% of the time, the rest are instantaneous failures. They are designed to be replaced as a module, but it still takes a few hours.
The airport can override the alarm shutdown in the unlikely event there's false alarms.
We have thousands of units in airports all over the world, thank goodness it happens only 2% of the time, but it's a huge liability since we warranty our equipment. So it's still a lot.
