Alabama House May Overturn 28-Year Ban on Yoga in Public Schools: Alabama’s House of ...
Willow_Wisp comments on Mar 14, 2021:
I fled Alabama in 1990 as a refuge and settled in America. I didn't even know about this, but I say "Namaste" all the time, but to be honest my favorite Yoga has fruit on the bottom.

I couldn't tell you how many times I was beat for day dreaming, when I was really just disassociating with life because of the previous beatings... But I remember in Carl Sagan's book "Cosmos" a fragment of the "Four Quartets" by T.S. Eliot that I still remember. We shall not cease from exploration And the end of all our exploring Will be to arrive where we started And know the place for the first time. I clung to it because it means that I'll someday look back on my life and it'll make sense. In a sense it has, but it wasn't as comforting as I had hoped.
The snow has finally melted from my garden beds, though the soil is still frozen in places.
Willow_Wisp comments on Mar 13, 2021:
I hope you put that manure in a pile for a few weeks before putting it on your garden. Manure needs to go through a heat, or it'll kill your garden plants. In high school we'd build mounds of manure eight to ten feet tall, if we went much higher they tended to catch fire because of the chemical heat they go through. I kept three such piles, one fresh, one aging, and one that was ready for lawns and gardens. I kept 15 acres of lawn and garden green like that for years as a high school kid.

About as lame as every relationship I've ever had in my entire life. Every situation has a lame excuse behind it, or worse they attempt to explain how it's your fault they can't stand you. But it's like snoring, we all have a nature, and we can't control it for the most part. I seem to have an almost Scarlet Witch level "Piss people the fuck off" mutant ability lately. The conservatives that pretended to be centrist at work are starting to expose themselves. Apparently the fact that I exist is wrong. That sort of thing stopped hurting a long time ago when my parents started the trend in the 60's & 70's.

It’s not hate, it’s about trust. Otherwise good people can be monsters when they’re attracted to another person. They have a fantasy and feel entitled and motivated to take higher than normal risk. Then you have so many silent angry fed up men. Women haters and incels. Being trans and insecure and humble, I have been shocked at how persistent and obsessed certain men become when you fulfill their weird fetish. As an asexual I’m disgusted. Willow_Wisp comments on Mar 2, 2021:
There are a few descriptions attributed to the ant-Christ that exist in the Bible. Perhaps if we read them we’ll see why Christians are so enchanted by Trump. Let’s see Daniel 11:36 - “The king will do as he pleases. He will exalt and magnify himself above every god and will say unheard-of things against the God of gods. He will be successful until the time of wrath is completed, for what has been determined must take place Daniel 11:37 - He will show no regard for the gods of his ancestors or for the one desired by women, nor will he regard any god, but will exalt himself above them all. Dan 11:38 - Instead of them, he will honor a god of fortresses; a god unknown to his ancestors he will honor with gold and silver, with precious stones and costly gifts Dan 11:39 - He will attack the mightiest fortresses with the help of a foreign god and will greatly honor those who acknowledge him. He will make them rulers over many people and will distribute the land at a price So who does that sound like to you? Perhaps Christians are acting stupid about all this on purpose to make it seem like this verse came true. 2Th 2:11 - For this reason God sends them a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie Religion makes people believe stupid crap.

Willow_Wisp comments on Mar 2, 2021:
Well if you’re unashamed then why isn’t the cross on fire, that’s who you’re ashamed you support, the people that burn your cross symbolically. Taking the symbol that you tell us represents divine love and turning it into a terrorist orgy of hate. It must be easier having one symbol for both, but I wouldn’t know, I require neither. I don’t experience love or hate these days. Sure you can piss me off, but my rage decays to sadness then exhaustion. Then I have to let it go or be stuck. If I were a ship I’d have a thousand anchors. I keep a trauma garden in my memories because nothing of relevance will ever be forgotten. I do have a religious question though, why is it that every time I have to deal with road rage behavior it’s always from church vans full of people. Like they’ll cut me off, or worse. If anyone’s going to flip the bird, or drive threateningly it’s always been church vans for like the last twenty years. So that’s my question what verses in the Bible justify the behavior of your van drivers?

Every people deserve the government they have since they ARE that government. So if someone runs for office loudly claiming that government is the problem, don't vote for them, they have no intention of helping. The need is for fair, just government, otherwise it's back to the stone age for the nation stupid enough to accept populist anti-government sentiments. That's the kind of underhanded domestic terrorism we're having to deal with, but only a minority of Americans acknowledge the scope and intensity of the problem, many just dismissing it entirely, or worse blaming "Antifa" their entirely fictitious mortal enemy.

Well said. The conservative reality management reflex is in full effect. Blaming the horrors in Texas on green energy is like blaming elderly Californian Asians for Covid-19. It makes no sense unless you’re part of the conservatives cult.
NOt a meme but just a reminder that the Russians built huge wind farms in the arctic such as this ...

The international standard for wind power generation is to have built in self regulating defrost systems. Conservative Texans in a large area cut their power grid off from much of the rest of the state grid so they could deregulate by saving money on what their culturally biased opinion was “common sense says we’ll never have that problem” so order without the defrost option, maybe pocket the difference? No one in regulated areas are having this problem. Conservatism always fails, it ignores nuances because they’re deficient in the mental capacity to face change. Extraordinary things are beginning to happen in every aspect of life and if we fail to prepare we will suffer. Conservatives say “No nothing changes, its always been this way” but it hasn’t. We directly and dramatically effect our environment and I can give you two solid examples in history The first was the Dust Bowl where dirt farmers had no guidelines for land management and erosion washed off much of the top soil so there were apocalyptic dust storms. Conservatives at the time opposed regulation for land management solutions like contour ploughing that’s erosion resistant and retains moisture better. But a super dust storm blew all the way from the Kansas Oklahoma area to Washington DC. So regulations were implemented and we don’t have dust storms of that magnitude anymore. The second is the hole in the ozone layer over Antarctica which grew so large a large part of South America was unprotected from ultraviolet radiation, UV light is blocked by ozone so animals were going blind. So were people, especially those that worked outside, like cattle men. We discovered that CFCs were causing the problem. CFCs are used for air conditioning and refrigeration so regulations to use alternative refrigerants that doesn’t destroy ozone when leaked into the atmosphere were enacted and over the decades since the hole has been closing. However when the regulations were first proposed they were controversial, scandalous really. Conservatives showed their ass with preposterous arguments passionately arguing against it. The financial impact was so slight that the refrigerant industry had for the most part already switched over voluntarily before the regulations were published. Rush Limbaugh for example claimed there would be a bigger black market for CFC refrigerants then the drug black market. If Americans didn’t make it some Latin American country would causing more immigration problems. Then as he slowly realized over the years that companies had voluntarily complied he argued that the regulations had been unnecessary. This is because he failed to realize that the regulations also provided the resources necessary to safely dispose of CFCs, like old refrigerators and ...
So with the crazy weather we're having how is everyone doing?

I’m sure LA will remain mild. For the same reason we get Santa Anna winds. We’re basically on a shelf a half step lower than the continental mean elevation with a mountain range along the boundary between the two elevations. When colder heavier air flows south across the continent the warmer air “piles” up over our mountains and pours in our area and it makes the area have a much milder temperature then most of the rest of the continent.
If you're a sci fi nerd, you'll get it 😉

Remember in the Save the Whales movie, they parked a cloaked bird of prey in a San Francisco municipal park and as Kirk walked out he said “Remember where we parked” like the only thing visible was the pressure depressions from the landing gear. As a fan from episode one I had envisioned cloaking as an energy field with no sharp angles, more like a magnetic bottle, not like the invisible man type of cloak. I was disappointed, I would have found it far more plausible. A shuttle with no cloaking technology at all should be cloaked with the starship if it was close enough and it’s visibility barrier would be a gradient over distance as well. A sneaky probe close enough to see a small percentage of the visible light could potentially go undetected as it monitored internal communications on the starship. I wrote a novella, Star Trek based that I thought would work, then they had to park that damned invisible Starship in a municipal park. I don’t even have the manuscript anymore, but I like to flatter myself that it was really well done. But no point once it’s clear it violates Star Trek cinematic cannon. Continuity is critical and should never be violated in my opinion as a fan. Still I wondered what dumb ass would envision possible future technology so childishly inspired by Wonder Woman’s invisible airplane. Name the SOB that nullified all my hard work on a typewriter because I wrote it before computers were available. William Shatner He wrote it. I hate him.
It's too damned cold here to celebrate, but I might just toss some confetti for the ritual.

In my estimation he was THE Joseph Goebbels of the American conservative movement. We should all be glad he’s gone, he was like an intestinal blockage for democracy. He did things like claiming government assistance made people dependent and weak, and he emphasized it specifically by claiming Democrats did it to keep black people down. As if 75% of all government assistance didn’t go to white people, it does. Meanwhile endlessly endorsing deregulation, the kind Texas likes and suffers from now during this harsh winter. Google it, power failures from fossil fuels and nuclear plants caused many more times the outages than renewable sources which only represent 13% of the states power grid capacity. Deregulation’s that make no sense. With regulations the wind turbines would have defrosting systems as they do elsewhere. Rush was THE source of the vast majority of conservative misinformation on every topic you can imagine. I’m tickled that he’s dead and wish it had happened in the 70’s before the seeds this MF planted could sprout leading to January 6th. I don’t have enough F bombs for this viscous anti human monster. If I could I’d resurrect him so I could kill him after doing a ghost of Christmas future on him as I tour guided through all the suffering he was responsible for.
Understand who should be your heroes.

Fuck Mother Theresa, she worshiped suffering. It takes a special kind of stupid to hate a teenage girl.

The fact that Trump gave this MF the Presidential medal of Freedom is enough for me to support impeachment all on it's own. Both are monsters, but the greater monster is room temperature, but there's room for another.
