It's a concern but not necessarily as much to fear as we expect. Yes we need to address this. Judges are more tightly constrained in their opinions then you might think. I know of no higher court judge that pulls opinions out of their ass because the opinions can only be built on precedent, not personal opinions. The worst situation they seem to achieve is being nudged toward using harsher language in their opinions. For example RBG couldn't just make an opinion that women should be treated fairly, she had to show how gender discrimination adversely affected everyone, even white men, before her opinions could carry the weight they needed to effect change. Republican politicians in particular find it perplexing when conservative judges don't tow the party line, but the line they're being called on to tow is to arbitrary and superficial for the judges to allow the nonsense to continue. But yes, if presented with the right case and with the right precedence they could overturn Row V Wade, but they can't and don't do such things the way politicians do, otherwise they wouldn't have ruled that the 1964 Civil Rights act article 7 covers LGBT+ issues, it's illegal to fire someone because they're queer or trans, not a ruling I would have expected from the SCOTUS that did it. Yes their faith disturbs me.

The issues regarding 'trans' people are some of the hardest for me to reconcile.

I will always be grateful for my foundational studies in humanism coming from Christianity, but honestly when people are loud about "Christianity" they are specifically referring to white supremacist political Christianity. If the First and Second Councils of Nicaea were held in twenty first century America white supremacist Christianity would be called Heresy. Most people reject white supremacist Christianity for what it is, a capitalistic tool to enslave the masses just as Adolph Hitler used Christianity. I did little theater for awhile to overcome painful shyness. It's weird on stage, I couldn't see any faces at all due to the stage lights so I pretended the plays were being filmed and the audience reaction was the sound track that also becomes part of the act in the sense that sometimes you had to react to it while making it all look like part of the act. It was exciting, the only down side, old theater people who just went on and on as if their experience was the only one that mattered. I doubt that's as much of an issue with comedy, but I haven't had a chance to do comedy unless you count AA testimonials.

Now the Covid-19 pandemic after a fight with cancer, type II diabetes brought on by to much Ibuprofen (2400 mg a day) by the VA. No carb diet two years cured it. I believe in teams not fucking kings. My boss is a Trump loving authority freak, he figured out (because I was quite clear about it) that I don't play that shit. So we never talk, he handles whatever administrative responsibilities it is that require my name on his list, but I basically come in when I want, leave when I want, and work on what I need to work on without supervision of any kind. Our lead electrical engineer was the same way I am about this, and the first person I know that died of Covid, but some years ago he all but quit over the same boss and his petty bullshit when he made a scene about him coming in five minutes late. For me it happened when we were about to have a meeting as I went into the conference room I pulled out my cell phone to silence it, "Willow, no phones in the meeting, you owe us a box of donuts!" It's been like four years and I haven't bought a donut yet, stupid prick. But when I'm working with the mechanical engineers we put in late hours, work on weekends, come in early yet not one of us gets weirdly bossy like that. I'm convinced it's a form of mental illness, one I had more then enough of in the military.

I had just received notification that my aunt in Pascagoula Mississippi, the last of my Dads 20 brothers and sisters had died of Covid (she was convinced Covid is a leftist hoax, certain she had lung cancer to the last) when a guy was seriously telling me how Covid isn’t as big of a deal as everyone was making it out to be. I didn’t argue. The effort would have been a waste. So far seven people I’ve known have died of Covid.

I remember terrible disruptions in each stage. The message was clear, I was neither wanted or needed and anyone that put up with me was making huge personal sacrifices that I should be grateful for. I was also married for 14 years to a Bulgarian that had come to the US for political asylum but communism had collapsed so revocation of her visa was inevitable. In 2007 at the start of the Great Recession I found myself unemployed long term for the first time in my life, so she divorced me.
