That’s a tragedy. A bit too much like several of the people I’ve known in my life. Not well known though like an uncle by marriage that died after several years of Alzheimer’s. Stroke induced dementia was another, don’t get me started on the homeless veterans at the VA that I befriended. Life is cruel, but when familiar task becomes insurmountable challenges I almost panic attack because it happens way too often. I am grateful to retain what functionality I still possess, but my hang gliding days are over. I’m not ill at all, just feeling my age.

It's always been there. In elementary school they did a school prayer over the pa system while we stood with our eyes closed and our heads bowed, in public school. I was pretty dubious about religion in the Navy and made the mistake of saying something, which prompted a series of uncomfortable conflicts where roving bands of Christians attempted to gang save me. When my drill instructor in boot camp asked what religion I was I said atheist which let to a two hour lecture delivered with a kind of weird insanity about how one day I'd call on God and after ignoring him to long he'd ignore me. There were a lot of cuss words as well. I find it odd that we have officers aboard ship called Chaplains. It's in so many inappropriate places. It's ignorance porn.

I walked up to the cashier she range me up, $97.50 I felt something on the counter, I picked it up, it was a $100 bill from whoever was last at the stand and I had been watching a video on my phone while I waited. It's the only thing feeding me and it's routine for the car to be nearly out of gas, the vape cartridges are all dry, The bank is overdrawn $300 and I have a $40 tab with the lunch truck driver that lets me buy lunch, my only meal for the day. So at 3:00 am every two weeks I see my balance go good and it's off to the gas station to fill up, and celebrate my gratitude with an energy drink and a couple of AM/PM cheeseburgers and a pack of Juul vape cartridges. I call it the feast at midnight, from when the money would arrive at 11:00 pm. two years ago. Living in financial desperation is like being sentenced to life in the electric chair. There's a reason why the Constitution of the United States can be amended, so it can adapt over time to the needs of our society. People keep talking about the original intent of the authors, but they're dead, and we're the ones that have to live with this Constitution. I hear people talk about mask mandates as if that's tyranny. That's selfish and childish, and cost the lives of our fellow citizens. The closest thing to tyranny that affects everyone in over 200 years is sitting in the Oval Office. We've had plenty of tyranny for every minority that exist though, but you might not know about that if you're a Christian white male heterosexual Republican.
