I remember seeing my friend leaning to one side, so to balance him out I leaned the other way, then the room just turned 90 degrees and I realized I was laying on the carpet and closed my eyes for a moment. I opened them two days later, my hair was stuck to the carpet from dried vomit, the left side of my head was a matted mohawk on the left side of my head. I stumbled for the restroom and found my friend asleep on the floor with his arms around the toilet, I had to lean over him to piss. Then I stumbled to my bed and passed out for another 24 hours. We both probably almost died of alcohol poisoning. I haven't drank since.

It is SO sad that the majority of Americans were not able to hear and accept the opinion of hundreds...

It was part of my pilgrimage, looking for meaning in a world where there is no meaning that I don't assign even if I assign it by accepting someone else's word for what's meaningful. There's newer information and ideas, I don't need to go back thousands of years, after all if they had it right then why is their society divided by an unfair caste system. Looking back for answers that aren't a question of historical accuracy is a huge mistake. However enlightened you think these people were, we have them beat hands down.

I'm on the side of your oldest. My dad was really judgmental, always making it clear just how disappointed he was in me every time we made contact. So I avoided him until the last few days of his life when I found out he was dying of cancer in 2002. He apologized for things that didn't matter and couldn't remember anything that did matter to me. All that was before I came out as trans, while married, as a dad, and at the top of my earning history. Children can sense the judgment of their parents even when the parents do their best to hide it. He is immune to your observations because he has his own perspective that you had best make peace with or you'll lose him, just as my father lost me decades before he died.

I'm still just as delusional about myself as ever, because when I let the illusion break I don't like the stranger that looks at me in the mirror. It was cult fan fiction, like the recent New Age drivel like "2150" by Thea Alaxandria who created the Macro Awareness Foundation or something like that, I'm going from memory. I read that book in the late 70's when there was all this ESP evidence and they still hadn't debunked the Cottingley Fairies photos that fooled Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. People were still reading Carlos Castaneda. I was pretty inoculated from BS by the time I attempted to read L. Ron Hubbard's "Dianetics" I couldn't get through the entire introduction or whatever it was before I dropped it in the trash. I thought it was going to be like self help, self awareness type stuff, but no no, it's shit. Just like the Bible.
