@AnonySchmoose Here in local forests we have the most incredibly verdant hardwood forests. If a person steps six feet off the hiking trail, it's impossible to see them. People can vanish from police in those forests for years. A memorable example was the Atlanta Olympics bomber, Eric Rudolph. From 1998 to 2003 he stepped into the Nantahala National Forest (about 50 miles from me) with a $1million reward and the FBI looking for him -- five years camping out occasionally going dumpster diving in town. All he had to do was step six feet off the trail. To me one of the big thing about those forests is each tree evaporates about bathtub of water daily. In summer the humidity couldn't get any higher unless you were standing in a thunderstorm. The humidity raises the heat index. Eric was one stinky dude. Don't get carried away planting your trees. It could make it feel hotter.

@AnonySchmoose The video says it thrives in hot dry summers. I maybe wrong (Satan forbid!) but that doesn't sound like Hawaii. Hawaii sounds like frequent rains with the same temperature all year. The hostess says her tree grows in Oklahoma where it gets unbearably hot in the summer and bitterly cold in the winter.
