@ShadowAmicus Because they carry disease, nobody intentionally eats cockroaches. I've watched too many food/cooking shows from obscure parts of the planet to be unaware that there are bugs and grubs which are considered good eats but **never** cockroaches. There is one tribe that hunts down large spiders in their fields that they roast and eat. This same tribe refuses to eat eggs because the eggs are too close to the bird's ass. Sometimes they eat bugs and grubs because that is what is available. "After three days [of starving] dog taste pretty good." -- Little Big Man.

@BufftonBeotch Grandfather Mountain is almost a mile high and chilly in August. Camping in the in the surrounding mountains it is always below 60F at night. It may venture into the lower 80's during the afternoon. Often it's in the 70's: great hiking weather until an afternoon rain squall arrives. I have used a solar powered hot water heater (largely a thick plastic bag that's left out in the sun with tube attachment for drain) and a cabana tent for showers. Some public campgrounds have shower stalls, a rare few with **hot** water. You can wash off old stinky but do wear shower shoes (flip flops will do) and bring that bar of soap you took from the last motel you visited. Public showers **never** provide soap. Some people resort to cat baths in camp ground rest rooms. It's been a poon's age since I spent the day at Grandfather Mountain. Along with nature lectures on raptors, they have a small zoo. Petunia gives their gift shop high marks but she was terrified at crossing their steel swinging bridge. Despite high winds near the summit, it only swings an inch or so. I crossed it. I wonder if Mildred the Bear is still there.
Good Morning All.

@BufftonBeotch Oh, I'd be generous enough to pay the first bill at Taco Belle. 🤑🌮🌮🌯🌯 I had made the unlikely assumption, once packed she'd be traveling alone. In a previous century, I struck a deal with a guy that after he paid for a fill up on my truck, we'd take the grand tour of all the strip joints in Pensacola once a month. Along with the fill up, he'd buy me **one** drink per strip joint. That was followed by him getting a bar bill and a gasping reply of "What the &%@$ did you order?" I was likely to say something like "Just a cup of coffee and a sniffer of Grand Marnier. Grand Marnier is distinctive orange cognac liqueur created in 1880 by a group of Scottish monks to honor Bonny Prince Charles. It's imported from a Scottish monastery. When bar coffee tastes like it's been sitting around since Thursday I need something to rinse out my mouth. Good stuff, mon." Next place, I might order a zombie. Drink two and the eyes glaze over. Since I could only order **one** drink, I figured might as well get the good stuff. Clyde had no idea what I was ordering. Oh, sure I'll have a rainbow pousse-cafe. It's an incredibly difficult to make cocktail with five types of liquor in it. BTW, a pousse-cafe is not where pussy cats have their coffee. Took Clyde aka the Wonderfog three years to figure out **none** of those strippers where going to hump him. I got so used to their dance routines while sitting ringside with Clyde, I'd start to yawn. It hurt their feelings while they spun the nipple tassels in opposite directions. I am such a jaded galoot these days. At least I've had some exceptionally good booze and lurid memories of dancing girls. Likewise, the jackboots I know who'd drop everything, load up a truck and go for a cross country trip with me would be ordering surf and turf at every restaurant and leaving a trail of beer cans behind them **as long as I was paying.**

@BufftonBeotch For 4 days of what I would consider the least time that is humanly tolerable of NY to AZ how much do you think hotel and food will be? Depends on what level of comfort you're aiming at. Pitching a tent and groceries gets it around $20 or less per day. How much gruel can you stand? A reasonably sane person would shoot for under $120 a day for a no tell motel and hot meals $20 a day. That means four hotel days ($480), four hot meals ($80) for a total of $560. Assuming you drive a 10 ton truck around 15 miles per gal, 500 miles a day at $2.50 a gallon (here it's $2.12 a gallon), you'd be spending $166 a day on just gasoline, or a total of $664 for four days. So a comfortable moving trip from ya to thar will hit her for total (food, $40; lodging, $480 and gasoline,$664) of about $1,200. I'm not including loading/unloading costs. Serious saving with a tent. ;-) Don't forget to visit my site "Camping for adults in Dixie (no children) Group" for more details on the el cheapo option.

Yea, like I take orders from the likes of you. >Trumpers are inbred morons, that's why. Oh, sure. You looked at everyone's family tree that voted for Trump and made them take an IQ tests so you could date yourself with outdated terms. Additionally you imply all inbred people are morons. If you look at European royalty as well as other royal family, there's a whole lot of inbreeding going on. If you talk to horse breeders, most of their horses are inbred.
