His wife is a very selfish person. Another self-righteous ‘Only I know what’s best for you’. I at least hope the courts will respect his wishes, even when the ones closest to him won’t.

Her thinking processes are a cognitive disaster area. She fails to think analytically. She fails to think critically. She fails to think rationally. She fails to think dispassionately. I would see no point in trying to engage her power of cognition, as she "cannot think straight".
anglophone replies on Aug 28, 2020:
@Normanbites Putting it very simply, you think straight, but she does not.

Disliked talking about it 10 years ago when I was much less knowledgeable and conversations really went nowhere as I had no "ammo", just my lack of being convinced. Now I'm "armed to the teeth" and want to share, and if not outright deconvert, at least cause a moderation in convictions.
anglophone replies on Aug 27, 2020:
@Rossy92 I and others have found that ridicule merely drives such numbskulls deeper into their own ghettos of irrationality. I must admit to smirking when Jehovah's Witnesses last less than 2 minutes in my company. The last pair ran away from me as fast they could.

@tsallinia The burden of proof always rests with the one making the existence claim. As an aside, it is trivial to show that the God of the Bible cannot exist. The same goes for the God of the Torah.

Correct. Believers arguments for a god to exist start with a need for a god to exist. I've always thought that if a god existed he would cure all those poor kids at St. Jude who have cancer.
