I didn’t have a particularly religious upbringing but I had quite a traumatic experience as a teenager after getting involved in an evangelical church through a boyfriend.

Luckily that episode in my life was fairly short lived, but I feel it has had a lasting and negative effect on me.

I considered myself an anti-theist for quite a few years but I’ve mellowed with age and become more accepting of people who choose to have faith in a god (although I still think they are pretty nuts!) I try not to voice my opinions so aggressively these days 🙂
