I am an artist of over 50 years starting from 1968 when I first went to art school. or 68 years from when I was born. It is therefore very difficult for me to write a potted history. The best way that colleagues here on the site can find out about me is to go to my website at www.alexflett.com and you will see why. I will see here however, that I have been an atheist since around age 8 or 9 though given that i was brought up in a small Scottish fishing village of approc 1000 people with 14 varieties of protestantism in it plus a couple of RC's I had to keep this hidden. This came about in the following manner. I was a precocious reader from a very early age. My favourite reading was a set of 12 encyclopedias which belonged to my older brother
