Having lived in and adventured to many places I can agree. The South here in America is very friendly as well as Australia. The big cities here in America are more standoffish and superficial. Some of the Asian countries are more friendly orientated the Philippines and Thailand are very friendly where Korea China and Japan seem to be more like the major cities here in America. California and New York are similar in superficial people just Californias are more laid back where a New Yorker seems to be more standoffish. There are other subtle differences that a novel could be written about.
