This topic comes up at least a couple of times every week. Most rational people don't believe in souls. "Soul" is simply the idea that that which is aware in you/as you, has an enduring "life" beyond the physical world. While a nice, romantic idea, it's never been shown to be anything *other than* ...

Running with scissors. After so much time alone are you able to accept someone idiosyncrasies?
Hathacat comments on Sep 8, 2018:
He can have all the idiosyncrasies he wants, as long as I find them amusing, delightful, endearing and so on, then who but us should care? And vice-versa. Of course we can adapt for the ones we don't love about each other, or at least try to.
azzow2 replies on Sep 9, 2018:
@Hathacat I always think the best is give and take. Was watching 3rd rock from the sun a few days ago. The episode was about that very subject. They, of course, go to extremes in a show like that. John Lithgow girlfriend had put the colander on the bottom rack of the dishwasher and of course, he had some detailed reason that it went on the top rack. Just silly things like that.

When it comes to love I have read many times that if you love someone you don't try to change them into who you want them to be. I'm sure that includes idiosyncrasies as well. The other possible culprit is polyethylene glycol (Miralax ) since it was released the number of birth defects has skyrocketed.

@AnneWimsey Common sense is rare, it would be mindful to have community common sense seminars. The Commonwealths are set up to protect you from your self.
