have you ever flown on a plane? Do you know how turbojet engines work? Yet you had no fear of not reaching your destination, right? You have not begun to understand what faith is, wadr. and, working down, *Test everything, and keep what is good Then the end will come, when he hands over the kingdom to God the Father after he has destroyed all dominion, authority and power. But you are a chosen race, A royal priesthood,* (that's anyone, Samaritans, Cyrenians, Whores, doesnt matter)* Do not pray like the pharisees No one has ever gone up to heaven If you dig a pit for others, you end up in it yourself* although for anyone who has actually taken to heart what Christian believers imagine about the Bible, and maybe it is no longer accessible to them for that reason? Imo Dao or the Iriquois way are hard to beat. But trust me you have not understood the Bible yet, no one has i guess *No Son of Man may die for another's sins;*

bbyrd009 comments on Apr 9, 2020:
well, *No Son of Man may die for another's sins* is OT, yeh. And i guess the Bible Itself will tell us that It is not the Word of Yah, so imo men make that up...and Jesus did not come to abolish the law, but to fulfill it? supposedly? The law is said to be "inadequate," but that does not mean "useless" i dont think; the speed limit in a school zone might be 20, but if little kids are pplaying near the curb and one trips and falls into the street, i might need to slow down to 5 or something, eh? So, *after He destroys all dominion, authority, and power* sounds to me like getting rid of the *rulers,* not necessarily the rules? Anarchy iow--not chaos, which we are taught to conflate that with--and...1Sam8 and "easter" is a roman god, not in the Bible anywhere i guess

not sure why so many avowed atheists would find any value in an "agnostic" site anyway, but fwiw believers all think the world is going to hell in a handbasket, right, when in fact the world has never been better, by any measure you could name, than it is right now! ha well wadr you might be looking for a "Lord" or "Baal" rather than Yah, i dunno, but it is said that the world suffers for a few reasons, and it might be noted that suffering is fairly subjective? Are you suffering right now? Believe it or not the world is most likely a better place, right now, than it ever has been in history, although i would understand your scepticism there :) we suffer bc we dislike entropy, for one thing; ppl reminisce about a past time they deem "perfect" and then spend the rest of their lives trying to get back there? but also we tend to emotionalize what we focus on, for instance if you watch the news, well naturally you will get the impression that the world is only evil, as "good" news does not equate to multiple viewers. Seek the good in the world, and make some yourself imo, and see that according to our definitions Yah does not "exist" anyway, nor does "He" try to! No "objective" evidence at all, right? You will not be judged for your belief, or lack thereof, of any "supreme being" ok, at least as far as the Bible goes; and we have several stories for that, the "Good" Samaritan, etc. strange but true :) you are going to be judged for your *works,* according to the Bible, just like everyone else

the argument goes that they were told to not "eat" from that "tree" though, that was like basically the only thing they were forbidden to do. But imo dont make the mistake of reading literally, like believers; its a mythology, that contains valuable wisdom. you might ask yourself what "eating the fruit of the tree of knowledge" even means, practically speaking; the terms in there are symbolic, and the symbols are defined elsewhere in the Bible, if you have any trouble deciphering them, but really its just kinda common sense ok. "eating the fruit" would be something like "accepting a concept as viable, and utilizing it personally," a "tree" is "a certain school of thought" say, and etc

bbyrd009 comments on Oct 2, 2020:
ah, easy--Gehenna is on earth, a trash dump outside of Jerusalem, and our Norse/Angle scribes just had no better analogy than their understanding of punishment in an "afterlife," which btw is not even in Hades' (a Greek god) mythology. The Bible--even a corrupted English version--is very clear, beginning with Samuel (accepted) to King Saul (rejected) *you and your sons will be here with me*, to the wisdom of Solomon, *No one knows where they go when they die, All go to the same place,* to various NT statements made by "Jesus," *No one has ever gone up to heaven, The kingdom of heaven is within you, There is only One Immortal* but i would caution you that all you will most likely do here is lose a friend ok. There are other vv that really bring the deception home, Esau (whom Yah "had hated") giving up his birthright for a bowl of "red stew" that he was so hungry for he was "about to die," and then apparently inheriting anyway, as it was Jacob (you, basically) who was more or less forced to leave, and in the OT *No son of man* (which is how Jesus referred to Himself)* may die for another's sins; the lifesoul that sins, dies,* but i would keep that one to yourself for now. Ppl who believe they are going up to heaven after they have died are in the Cult of Sol Invictus, descended from Mithraism (*Apollos waters*), but they are not going to appreciate being enlightened ok
Does being an agnostic mean that you’re on the wall or you lack acceptance?

i guess the meaning has changed in the last hundred years, but a lot of the point initially revolved around "gnossis" or knowledge, agnostic (originally) meaning "against knowledge" which maybe sounds like a bad thing, but as you pointed out no one can prove Yah "exists," so it was that kind of "knowledge" that agnostics (and the Bible btw) were opposing i guess *test everything, and keep what is good*

ah and while we're on the subject, dictionaries are bought by rich whores specifically in order to deceive ppl, "talent" used to mean "money" and never had anything to do with innate ability until about 400 years ago i guess, and there is even a thing "dictionary wars" which im pretty sure i didnt just make up...ya, there's a book with that title, but i bet it mostly obscures the real truth. Ppl die over definitions, and theres a reason the 1858 unabridged Webster's is so valuable i guess
IMO, humans came up with the idea of a soul and a life after death when we started becoming aware of...

we form our ego at such a young age that i guess we more or less forget the process? Who remembers the day they first looked in a mirror and recognized their "self?" I guess that doesnt happen until somewhere around 18 months of age? Point being that it's likely our ego that seeks immortality; even though the Bible is quite plain on that subject, *There is only One Immortal,* etc

Epicurean--related--stuff is interesting, too; i forget why they were superseded now
The non-existing Jesus was an animal sacrifice to himself.

it's the "everybody knows" part that is more likely being characterized in "tree of knowledge" so, more steps on that ladder iow; there is surely ego involved best of luck to you
To be the messiah, Jesus had to have descended from israel, right?

*no son of man may die for another's sins* so "messiah"--which was one of the titles of *Caesar,* along with king of kings, lord of lords, etc--was apparently intentionally usurped to make a point, and is surely misunderstood today, mostly by ppl in the Cult of Sol Invictus who call themselves "Christian" also *My God, why have you forsaken Me?* then makes sense
Once I said to a dear Christian friend: “Suppose there really is no God, and suppose I had it ...

it maybe depends upon how you are defining "God?" plus you have posited conditions that cannot possibly arise, so what is the point, if i may ask

so, might be hard to believe at first, but there is a story in the Bible for sucker believers like him, Esau; and another story that he would not accept the proofs for, or practically speaking even be able to see, *No son of man may die for another's sins* but fwiw i guess you did the world a favor lol

gotta wonder why we are "counting cases" of covid anyway? Can you think of any other virus we are counting the positives of? Do you realize that "flatten the curve" implies absolutely no reduction in "positive cases," in the end, but merely stretching the timetable "so hospitals dont get overwhelmed?" Dont buy the hype, imo; all that has really happened is that 116k, or 128k whatever, no longer have to read this ridic bs every day, as like 98% of them are now immune. yes, 3k died, and that is tragic, but guess how many were going to die anyway! 3k

well, *No son of man may die for another's sins, No one has ever gone up to heaven, Who seeks to save his soul shall lose it,* on and on, but my response to the singularity theory is that we have various lore, Atlantis etc, that are cautionary tales to us, what to make of those
