bbyrd009 comments on Sep 14, 2020:
ha well wadr you might be looking for a "Lord" or "Baal" rather than Yah, i dunno, but it is said that the world suffers for a few reasons, and it might be noted that suffering is fairly subjective? Are you suffering right now? Believe it or not the world is most likely a better place, right now, than it ever has been in history, although i would understand your scepticism there :) we suffer bc we dislike entropy, for one thing; ppl reminisce about a past time they deem "perfect" and then spend the rest of their lives trying to get back there? but also we tend to emotionalize what we focus on, for instance if you watch the news, well naturally you will get the impression that the world is only evil, as "good" news does not equate to multiple viewers. Seek the good in the world, and make some yourself imo, and see that according to our definitions Yah does not "exist" anyway, nor does "He" try to! No "objective" evidence at all, right? You will not be judged for your belief, or lack thereof, of any "supreme being" ok, at least as far as the Bible goes; and we have several stories for that, the "Good" Samaritan, etc. strange but true :) you are going to be judged for your *works,* according to the Bible, just like everyone else

While I adhere more closely to the site definition of “agnostic” i would certainly agree, for myself anyway. Fwiw most “Christians” are actually firmly in the Cult of Sol Invictus, iow they believe they might one day become immortal, go up to heaven, etc, bc “Jesus died for their sins,” none of which—believe it or not— can be quoted from the Bible. So, as that might be somewhat hard to believe for you, I’ll leave you with some Bible vv that a believer will never quote at you: *No son of man may die for another’s sins No one has ever gone up to heaven There is only One Immortal All go to the same place He who seeks to save his (life) soul will lose it No one knows where they go when they die* etc

Be a little more tolerant of uncertainty, maybe; it is the diversity of our responses to outside forces that keeps us strong, and just bc your neighbor is doing it doesn’t mean you have to! We are running toward a world where everything will be either mandatory or illegal. Why not let vaxxers vaccinate, and abstainers abstain? Bc you do not want to live in that world i bet. “I’m vaccinated, and I will still avoid the unvaccinated” makes you a *believer* ok

bbyrd009 comments on Sep 14, 2020:
the argument goes that they were told to not "eat" from that "tree" though, that was like basically the only thing they were forbidden to do. But imo dont make the mistake of reading literally, like believers; its a mythology, that contains valuable wisdom. you might ask yourself what "eating the fruit of the tree of knowledge" even means, practically speaking; the terms in there are symbolic, and the symbols are defined elsewhere in the Bible, if you have any trouble deciphering them, but really its just kinda common sense ok. "eating the fruit" would be something like "accepting a concept as viable, and utilizing it personally," a "tree" is "a certain school of thought" say, and etc

depends upon what you mean by agnostic i guess? "Gnostic" was originally a slur applied to know-it-all types, and "agnostic" meant more like "someone committed to the middle way," but i dont know about now, as the definitions seem to have got dumbed-down
