Why argue with her? That dooms the relationship. In contrast, when husbands responded to their wives' complaints by stonewalling or belittling them, the marriage was almost sure to fail: More than four-fifths of those relationships — 81 percent — fell apart." So they found out that if a man doesn't listen to his wife in everything, the marriage will end.

birdingnut replies on Jun 1, 2018:
@Palacinky I usually live in far flung places where I seldom see a white person, so I don't know about tourist, western places like Chiang Mai, and Bangkok. Where I've lived, they were not persecuted, just accepted. One of my school administrators wore make up, coiffed hair and a glittering female pantsuit, but wore men's shoes and a goatee, yet nobody seemed to think anything of it. Everywhere I've worked there have been transgender teachers and students, and nobody cared. If one of my students identified as a gender other than the school uniform they were wearing, the other students would inform me before I divided up the classes for contests between the girls and the boys, and I'd count that student as that preferred gender. But it's the same with acceptance of race, taught by Buddhism; the people accept others but the government persecutes immigrants. I've heard of families up north kicking out transgender children, but it's not been done where I've lived in worked; Lopburi, Lamnarai, Nakhon, and Songkhla.

birdingnut replies on Jun 1, 2018:
@Palacinky Officially they are restricted, but practically, nobody cares about their gender presentation because Thai Buddhism accepts a Third Gender. If there is any persecution it is probably in Bangkok or places with more Western influence. School officials, teachers, staff in the mall, etc., can present with beards and women's clothing and make up, pretty women can dress and act exactly like men, someone can be half dressed as a man, and half as a woman. Since the Thai language allows people to label their own gender pronoun with each sentence, you don't have to guess which gender label they identify with. People even change their self-gender labels according to their moods, or circumstances. This is perfect for me, although with derris scandens, I no longer have gender dysphoria.

@mudhen The exact opposite. Alcohol is dangerous, damages the liver and is addictive. Most people drink too much because they are unhappy. Cannabis HEALS the body, and in older people it actually rejuvenates the brain, it cures a host of serious diseases, including cancer, and it can be taken many ways. Smoking doesn't do much to cure disease, but there's cannabis oil (which I take for cancer, and the cancer is receding), edibles, and other ways to get it. It's prescribed in hospitals in Spain. It stops pain, calms the mind, and stops depression. Quote from link: "Without cannabis, mature and aged mice performed worse on the tests than young mice did. But after the elderly animals were given cannabis THC, their performances improved to the point that they resembled those of young, untreated mice. “The effects were very robust, very profound,” Zimmer says." https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/marijuana-may-boost-rather-than-dull-the-elderly-brain/

For instance, when I was caught outside a few minutes past curfew (10 PM) with my boyfriend, I was interrogated and accused of "fornication," for hours by a committee of ten professors, while nobody said anything to my boyfriend (who I later married and he's the father of my two children). I complained that I had to wear skirts, and wasn't allowed to wear pants even when the temp. dropped to zero, but men were left alone, etc. To my surprise, the sweet young girl on the phone was horrified, said the college wasn't that strict anymore, and apologized on behalf of the college, so I was mollified. @pixiedust I'm just like a normal female physically, but both sides of my brains were initialized with gender hormones in the third trimester, as everyone's is, but in my case, the male hormones were stronger, due to my brother being born a few months earlier. You are still thinking of "intersex" which I already explained is when a baby's gender can't be determined from the genitals, because of things like an enlarged clitoris that resembles a penis, or a tiny penis that could be mistaken for a clitoris. Often, later on, an intersex person will develop secondary characteristics of both genders; i.e. a girl might become hairy and aggressive and a male might develop breasts. Because of my high levels of testosterone, I have a strong sense of direction, can easily parallel park, am bold and fearless, I am unusually strong, love engineering, physics, astronomy, science, riding motorbikes, breaking horses, and things usually appealing to mostly to males, and women who also have high testosterone levels.

Don't worry..one thing I found when still gender fluid was that when in female mode I took things seriously, but when I was in male mode I was always laughing and cracking jokes. birdingnut comments on May 24, 2018:
Yup..language limits what people can comprehend. That's why English is commonly used in science since many languages lack essential concept words. I.e., in Haitian Creole, almost any animal is a "bete," so not a good language for studying entomology, for instance.
birdingnut replies on May 25, 2018:
@novoxguy It's something I read about while at the university..our particular learned languages limit our perceptions of the world. For instance, Thai people have several times the number of colors they commonly name. Not just blue, but "sky blue," or some other shade. I'll point at what I think of as "red" and the children will call it the Thai word for the color orange-red. Even Europeans didn't "see" the color blue until fairly recently, thinking of the blue ocean and sky as "clear," instead of the color blue. Also, just learning to read and write can rewire an adult brain. The rural Haitians couldn't even understand a photograph..to them, it was a blob of color dots, although they tried to humor by pretending to "see" what I told them was there. Learning to read and write rewires adult brain in six months https://www.newscientist.com/article/2132589-learning-to-read-and-write-rewires-adult-brain-in-six-months/#.WweTIAgGOmg.twitter

@kensmile4u There are many schools that have done this, with wild success, but the US education dept shut it down because it threatened the status quo. I used to substitute teach, and when I had a 20 minute gap in the silly busy work left by the regular teacher, I'd sneak and teach all the kids, from kindergarten up in the room to read phonetically with Sing, Spell, Read and Write songs and charts, then go ahead and teach the entire class to speed-read, which they all learned effortlessly, even the "special" students. Most of the students kept quiet about it, so sometimes the sudden ability of pre-schoolers to read was sometimes attributed to the regular teacher and I got away with it . If the teachers ever found out what I'd done, such as when excited parents and/or teacher's aides began raving about it, the regular teachers would become furious and tell me to never substitute for them again.

birdingnut replies on May 23, 2018:
@Jenmcjen I followed the advice of the famous Marie Kondo book, "The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up: The Japanese Art of Decluttering and Organizing." She said to go through the house and gather all the objects that are same, and put them in separate piles in one place..a pile of all your shoes, all your pairs of your scissors, etc. Then select one or two identical items from each pile to keep, and put the rest in donation boxes. When you want to keep multiple items, such as shoes, choose a few from each shoe genre by picking up each pair of shoes. If you feel a burst of joy, keep it. If nothing happens, then, no matter how much you paid for it, or who gave them to you, put them in in the Goodwill box. The idea is that the items will be happier if they have a new, useful life, and you don't want to deprive them. It may take a while to cover the entire house but when you're done the house will be echoing, clean, and easy to maintain. Furthermore, the process has taught you to listen to your inner voice instead of just buying and keeping whatever you see, without finding out if it truly brings you joy. My daughter did that with me two years ago and I donated more stuff than I thought I even owned, but my house only looked much better, not empty. Now, if something no longer makes me happy, I no longer wait..I just donate it now.

Few cis hetero women want to be in the dangerous position of being with a man who is looking out for himself first, since they are usually much larger and stronger, unless she has high levels of male characteristics and likes being controlled by her mate.
