Where do you prefer to be beach or mountain?
birdingnut comments on Sep 22, 2018:
They're both great, but I prefer tropical beaches, of course..hence my living in southern Thailand, near the beach. By the way, this website has a bit of a learning curve, so here's some info, in case you need it. For members who are open to dating, certain thumbnails and profiles have a heart symbol on them with a percentage. This identifies which members are open to dating, and the percent shows approximately how compatible others are with them. You gain website points by answering all the profile questions and writing a bio, which also earns website points, and helps other members get to know you. Commenting on posts and writing your own posts earns more points. At level two you can private message people, and at level eight you get an agnostic T-shirt. If you want to date, the website uses profile algorithms to find member matches, so the more details one includes, the better the match. Many people prefer to see a written profile talking about interests, hobbies, and backgrounds that can be quickly perused to find others with similar interests.. In case you didn't know yet, to find members near you, click on the "Browse" button at the top of the page, then on "Members," and enter your preferred search parameters. Click on the "Discuss" button, then "Nearby" to find members near you also. Or click on the "About" button at the top left of the page to find links to FAQ or the website tutorial. Did anyone see Fahrenheit 11/9? How was it?
birdingnut comments on Sep 22, 2018:
It got an 81% positive review on Rotten Tomatoes, but people say it's definitely targeting a non-conservative audience and came down hard on Trump's scary actions. Some said it had too many threads, so seems unfocused at times. But the movie is a warning: "Take action now, or you may no longer have the opportunity to do so." It depends on your personal tastes and beliefs as to how well you'll like it.

birdingnut comments on Sep 22, 2018:
This article mostly just tells you what DOESN'T work, although it does mention changing to healthy, whole foods and exercising more..not helpful for many who continue to crave food. But there's hope; CBD oil, found in most health food stores, has the opposite effect of THC in cannabis oil - it suppresses the appetite. It also increases the level of mitochondria in the body, thus causing the body to burn more calories. It stimulates genes and proteins that break down fat cells, reducing the amount of new fat cells that are generated. CBD oil changes white fatty tissue into beige/brown fatty tissue, which burns energy. Fatty tissue turns from white to brown when it’s cleansed of toxins. Without toxins for white fatty tissue to shield the organs from, there’s no need for it. People can try different CBD oil dose sizes to find the desired effect on suppressing appetite. For some, 5 mg is fine for them, while others may need as much as 50 mg or more. Link: https://farma.health/cbd-weight-loss-faqs/

Obviously they already have an overactive fear of change and anger toward those who are different from them. A study, published in the journal Psychological Science found lower intelligence scores in childhood were predictors of greater racism. Those those with poor abstract-reasoning skills were more likely to have anti-homosexual prejudice and authoritarian attitudes. The study indicates a vicious cycle, in which people with low intelligence are drawn to socially conservative ideologies. In turn, those ideologies can contribute to prejudices. Au contraire; we make our own happiness. Physics indicates that we are participating in creating our own universes/reality. “Consciousness is fundamental, and matter is derived from consciousness." – Max Planck, theoretical physicist who originated quantum theory, 1918 Nobel Prize in Physics Quote: “A fundamental conclusion of the new physics also acknowledges that the observer creates the reality. As observers, we are personally involved with the creation of our own reality. Physicists are being forced to admit that the universe is a “mental” construction. Pioneering physicist Sir James Jeans wrote: “The stream of knowledge is heading toward a non-mechanical reality; the universe begins to look more like a great thought than like a great machine. Mind no longer appears to be an accidental intruder into the realm of matter, we ought rather hail it as the creator and governor of the realm of matter. Get over it, and accept the inarguable conclusion. The universe is immaterial-mental and spiritual.” – R.C. For those that have "come out" (of religion) to a spouse how did that go?
birdingnut comments on Sep 21, 2018:
I come from a white missionary background, but came out as agnostic only this year, realizing that I've not believed in the church for decades. I was the one who defriended/blocked every Haiti MK (missionary kid) childhood friend or relative who posted Trump support memes, or memes that mocked minorities. Since 85% of white evangelicals voted for Trump, my Christian friends were mostly Trump supporters, as it turned out. I would message the people first and say that I objected to their racist posts/memes, and if they started insulting me, I defriended/blocked them. I don't hang with religious people (who are almost always Trump supporters also) and if I realize someone I'm friends with is a Christian, I distance myself from them immediately.

birdingnut comments on Sep 21, 2018:
Most of them, LOL! One of the first ones that annoyed me was "The Yearling," which I first saw in movie form back in the early 1960s. I had loved the book since I was little, but seeing the silly, Hollywood version in the US when I was nine years old, disgusted me. From then on, I forced myself to think of the movie and the book as separate, loosely related pieces of art, to be appreciated individually. For instance, I hated the silly, shallow, poorly written Jurassic Park book, but the screen play corrected all the defects and made an enthralling movie. But the next book in the series was written VERY well, while the movie was silly and shallow.

birdingnut comments on Sep 21, 2018:
How would diagnosing it help? Conventional Western doctors don't have a cure. However, CBD oil, found in most health food stores, DOES treat autism. "Israeli researchers found more compelling evidence that cannabis is an effective therapy for children on the autism spectrum. In this soon-to-be-published study in the journal Neurology, researchers treated autistic children with high concentrations of CBD, a non-intoxicating cannabinoid found in the cannabis plant. Conditions in 80% of the children improved. Alternatively, the children had not shown improvement with conventional drug therapies. The study was led by the director of pediatric neurology at Jerusalem’s Shaare Zedek Hospital, Dr. Adi Aran, who treated the 60 children with a high-CBD cannabis oil (20% CBD and 1% THC). The children were treated for at least seven months with the oil. 80% of parents noted a decrease in problematic behaviors, with 62% reporting significant improvements. Half of the children had improved communication. 40% reported significant decreases in anxiety. (Note: one-third of the study participants began the study with no anxiety.) The Bible, which is a silly myth, never says that god sent Satan to hell. Just that he threw him and a third of the angels-who had become his followers- out of heaven and down to earth, because Satan said he wanted to be equal with god. It also said that Satan was an "anointed cherub," who was covered in musical instruments and led the worship in heaven. Cherubs were weird creatures, described in Ezekiel 10 as having four wings, a head with four faces..one per side; faces of an ox, man, lion, and an eagle, and flew without turning, like lightning. They were also covered with EYES. Really weird. All the horns, tail, red suit, etc. stories are not in the Bible.

birdingnut comments on Sep 20, 2018:
Dunno..depends. When I was almost killed in 2014 by being beaten in the head by a thief who ambushed me for my birding camera, I couldn't even stand up. I made it to my room, and Thai residents at the apartment building piled a couple of banana stalks near me, with a jug of water. The hospital told me to tell my friends to check on me each day to see if I'm still alive, so I did. I managed to survive on bananas until I could walk to a nearby store for more food. Now that I'm recovering from intestinal cancer, using cannabis oil, I have to walk long distances-seven blocks each way at times, to get food here in Songkhla, Thailand, since I sold my motorbike last year when I thought I was about to fly to the US. I use cheap public transportation, or just keep trying to walk, despite being dizzy from cannabis oil and my muscles not working properly, depending on when I last took some. Luckily, here in Thailand, there are food vendors everywhere selling food from motorbike side car carts, tables set up on the sidewalk, tiny shops, etc. Unluckily, there are only a few foods my body accepts, although the list keeps growing. I found that I must eat certain foods at certain times if I want to improve and that changing my schedule or even buying food from a different vendor can result in symptom setbacks. Each food schedule only lasts a couple of weeks before I start craving some other illogical food and the feeling intensifies until I finally take a risk and eat it. Usually, eating that food, no matter how silly, suddenly improves my health and often another food I had been eating before begins to disagree with me-often violently (sigh). But whenever I humor this food weirdness, I improve rapidly, so I suppose my body needs certain nutrients at certain times.

birdingnut comments on Sep 20, 2018:
I hate killing of any kind, but with whitetail deer in Kentucky, natural animal predators were eliminated, so deer have proliferated into dangerous nuisances. Not enough children are taking up hunting to replace dying hunters and keep the deer numbers under control. People where I lived in the hills of eastern Kentucky actually butchered their deer kills, stored the meat in cold lockers and used venison for meat year around. It's much healthier to eat than beef, which is full of growth hormones, antibiotics, and pesticides.

Yup. But good thing people aren't very introspective because our Caucasian population is already going extinct, due to failure to replace ourselves. Strangely, there are women who actually want to reproduce and proudly take the risk and compromise of their figures to have children. It seems to be hardwired into most cis hetero women and men, but the drive to reproduce must be strong, or the human race will disappear for good. Anyone have those days where they feel extremely guilty for leaving the church?
birdingnut comments on Sep 20, 2018:
NO. I felt totally relieved when I realized that the Hebrew god was only a poor copy of "Anu" - the bloodthirsty alien Sumerian ruler described in the Sumerian texts, written 2000 years before the Bible. It tells many of the same stories that are in the Bible, except far better, and with more science. For instance, in the story of the great flood, it was from a planet coming too close to the earth and breaking off an Antarctic ice shelf, causing a tsunami over a third of the earth. In the Sumerian texts, Noah and his family only brought copies of the DNA of earth animals into their boat..a submarine!
So I have been on this site almost a month a I learned something really important.

I grew up in Haiti with my American missionary parents, where they have the biggest, juiciest avocados on earth. I didn't like avocados at first, but during my first furlough in the US, I found myself craving them, and couldn't get enough when I returned to Haiti. Avocado trees were all over our mission and your life was in danger during avocado season. As soon as we heard the crashing sound of a huge fruit coming down through the branches, we ran for our lives. Can't imagine someone surviving a direct hit on the head. We ate smashed avocado on everything..from cassava bread, smooshed together with hot pepper peanut butter, to sandwiches, etc. In the US avocados expensive, so my ex and I told our kids that avocados tasted "nasty" and they wouldn't like them. Of course, that only piqued their interest and they wanted some at once, loving it immediately. Oh, well.

How to not be bitter toward an ex
birdingnut comments on Sep 19, 2018:
You are being frozen by anger, but I found a way to get rid of the ptsd and negative emotion associated with toxic exes. I borrowed from hypnotherapy but just cut to the chase, or the "active ingrdients." I allow myself to relax and get into a meditative state. Then I spend some time picturing the person or traumatic events as they SHOULD have happened..my ex as a loving, supportive, healthy person and our family spending our lives in happiness. When I "wake up" from the meditation state, the negative emotions will have been replaced with positive emotions associated with the replacement "memory." I know intellectually what really happened, but the emotional anger and shame surrounding it is gone..permanently. Once free of crippling resentment, you will be able to calmly find solutions for both of you. By the way, if your ex is open to it, CBD oil, found in most health food stores, has been found to cure addictions of all kinds, including alcohol. "One week of treatment with a non-psychoactive marijuana compound could help drug addicts and alcoholics from relapsing for months, a new study found. Researchers gave cannabidiol (CBD oil) to rats that consumed either alcohol or cocaine every day. The animals received a daily treatment of the CBD in gel form for a single week, according to the study published in the journal Neuropsychopharmacology. The CBD helped the critters consume less alcohol or cocaine, even when they were put into anxiety-inducing situations that might push them to take more. And the rats that had the gel applied to their skin were also less anxious and less impulsive, the study says." Link: https://www.kansascity.com/news/nation-world/article206687424.html

Like I keep advising people, if you have friends or relatives who are emotionally abusive or exhibit behavior damaging to you, delete and block them from social media. Tell people who ask about them that "we've grown apart," and never contact them again. For milder cases, just stop contacting them and ignore their messages and calls. Only talk to them or pay attention to them if they are behaving in a positive manner. This quickly trains them to treat you with respect.

WE are the higher source. We are our own gods.
