If you know, How do you know god doesn’t exist ?

Atheists say there is no god, but agnostics say they don't know for sure, so I'm not sure what your question means. By the way, this website has a bit of a learning curve. You can improve your website score in general by answering all the profile questions and writing a bio, which also earns website points, and helps other members get to know you. Commenting on posts and writing your own posts earns more points. At level two you can private message people, and at level eight you get an agnostic T-shirt. Many people prefer to see a written profile talking about interests, hobbies, and backgrounds that can be quickly perused to find others who are compatible with them. In case you didn't know yet, to find members near you, click on the "Browse" button at the top of the page, then on "Members," and enter your preferred search parameters. Click on the "Discuss" button, then "Nearby" to find members near you also. Or click on the "About" button at the top left of the page to find links to FAQ or the website tutorial. I keep getting junk email for "Christian insurance". Isn't that an oxymoron?
birdingnut comments on Aug 27, 2018:
It's all illogical that way..such as both saying that god causes accidents to teach us something, then telling us to pray to god for help for these accidents. Or saying that god controls everything then telling people to preach the "gospel." If people are being controlled by god, why preach to them? Why go to work? Why go to school, if god can just do everything for us? People have to be trained to check their brains at the church door to accept this pile of manure. How do religions really develop? They are not something that is spontaneous they must be created.
birdingnut comments on Aug 27, 2018:
Because they work. Fear, hate, belief in the superiority of one's own race, are easy to stir up for manipulating people, and religion does this well.

Played so many board games yesterday!
birdingnut comments on Aug 27, 2018:
I haven't played board or card games since I was little. I learned that I couldn't lose, no matter how hard I tried..dice landed how I wanted, I got royal flushes no matter whoever cut the cards, etc. I was told I was a "witch" and to stay away, so I gave it all up. My kids have been the same way since they were toddlers, but they can control it..losing just enough to get the bets high before winning. It even works that way with playing pool, at least that's what my son did when he was little. At some point I realized that everything that seems supernatural is not "god" but only our power to create our own realities. “Consciousness is fundamental, and matter is derived from consciousness." – Max Planck, theoretical physicist who originated quantum theory, 1918 Nobel Prize in Physics “Consciousness Creates Reality” – Physicists Admit The Universe Is Immaterial, Mental, https://www.collective-evolution.com/2014/11/11/consciousness-creates-reality-physicists-admit-the-universe-is-immaterial-mental-spiritual/

Textbooks for Homeschooling Christians Frequently Whitewash U.S. History | Sarahbeth Caplin
birdingnut comments on Aug 27, 2018:
True, but the saccharine public school textbooks aren't much better in whitewashing American history, glossing over western genocide and exploitation, etc. However, most public school teachers don't even open the textbooks. When I was substitute teaching in eastern Kentucky in the early 1990s, all they did was have kids memorize answers to tests so the teachers wouldn't get fired or the schools lose funding. It's all just warehousing the kids, holding them back in lockstep with the slowest kids in the class, even though a famous study in the 1980s, that aired almost daily for months on the Kentucky learning channel, found that when there were five or less students per teacher, working only two hours a day, kids were moving up a grade every TWO WEEKS. All the rest is warehousing children, keeping the kids stalled in school so the schools can collect education funds.

birdingnut comments on Aug 27, 2018:
Just discovering "anxiety cells" isn't very helpful, since of course we all need those to keep us from putting ourselves at risk. But they were WRONG when they said science doesn't know how to shut them down. They are clearly ignoring proven natural solutions, that have already been tested and proven. Studies of CBD oil, sold in most health food stores, show it relieves depression and anxiety. "A 2015 study concluded that CBD oil is a promising treatment for numerous forms of anxiety, including social anxiety disorder, panic disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, and post-traumatic stress disorder. All I heard the pope do was to pray to god to forgive the church. I suppose that means the entire sexual predator/pedophile ring, otherwise known as the Catholic Church, is absolved from guilt, and is free to carry on sexual exploitation without actual consequences. There should be separation of church and state so church criminals will pay.

How parents act on their religious beliefs linked to the onset of atheism in their children
birdingnut comments on Aug 27, 2018:
I quietly stopped believing in religious institutions decades ago, but continued sort of believing in god because I could feel connected to love, peace, and everything in the universe. However, whatever I imagined, happened, whether or not it was "godly" or even good for me. I finally had to admit it was all me. Even my secular friends could make things happen by deciding them, so it wasn't because of "god."

birdingnut comments on Aug 26, 2018:
Skip all that and use CBD oil to quit smoking. "Current research shows that cannabidiol, or CBD, oil has the potential to turn nicotine addiction on its head. It promises to do this in a safe, effective manner. Another study showed that CBD oil can treat alcohol induced neurodegeneration. Some consider this to be the main cause of chronic and relapsing alcoholism. According to the study, “Results demonstrate the feasibility of using CBD transdermal delivery systems for the treatment of alcohol-induced neurodegeneration.” Another showed that CBD lowers stimulus cue induced heroin seeking behavior. This can help to prevent heroin craving and usage relapse. The study says that CBD treatment “specifically attenuated heroin-seeking behavior reinstated by exposure to a conditioned stimulus cue. CBD had a protracted effect with significance evident after 24 hours and even two weeks after administration… The findings highlight the unique contributions of distinct cannabis constituents to addiction vulnerability and suggest that CBD may be a potential treatment for heroin craving and relapse.” Link: https://healthworxcbd.com/can-cbd-oil-help-quit-smoking/

There are already more trade jobs like carpentry, electrical, plumbing, sheet-metal work and pipe-fitting than Washingtonians to fill them, the state auditor reports. Many pay more than the state's average annual wage of $54,000. Construction, along with health care and personal care, will account for one-third of all new jobs through 2022, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. There will also be a need for new plumbers and new electricians. And, as politicians debate a massive overhaul of the nation's roads, bridges and airports, the U.S. Department of Education reports that there will be 68 percent more job openings in infrastructure-related fields in the next five years than there are people training to fill them. However, if she tries to preach at you, use religion to condemn you, or mentions religion at ALL, you can use this highly effective technique; only smile and look at her when she is being kind, normal, and neutral. If she strays into religion in ANY way, act distracted and bored, don't pay any attention to her, mumble, "Um-hum..that's nice," then immediately wander out of the room as though remembering something you need to do. It works fast, if you are consistent-I trained my parents to stop attacking me and my children in only three visits.

We are our own gods. Unless you want to kneel to yourself, no need. By the way, this website has a bit of a learning curve. For members who are open to dating, certain thumbnails and profiles have a heart symbol on them with a percentage. This identifies which members are open to dating, and the percent shows approximately how compatible others are with them. You can improve your website score in general by answering all the profile questions and writing a bio, which also earns website points, and helps other members get to know you. Commenting on posts and writing your own posts earns more points. At level two you can private message people, and at level eight you get an agnostic T-shirt. If you want to date, the website uses profile algorithms to find member matches, so the more details one includes, the better the match. Points are now being given to level 3+ members who chat. You can see chat rooms on the group main page or at https://agnostic.com/groups/rooms.

Religious people say all kinds of nonsense, like saying "god" needed another angel so that's why some child was killed in a car wreck. If you can, avoid talking to religious people at all or letting them know about your life. And I'm so sorry for your loss.

A general question here. Why do people follow a belief system?
birdingnut comments on Aug 24, 2018:
Usually, people are raised in a belief system, taught it by their parents, and had it reinforced by their peers. Thankfully, once children leave home for college they are usually exposed to humanism and secular beliefs, so often dump their childhood training.

Wow..sorry about the trouble at work. I used to be the only (unknown to me at the time) partial transmale and demisexual in female groups at work, so didn't comment when women went on and on about hot men they'd met, drinking bouts, and gossip. I listened, but didn't really care all that much, and learned not to ever mention my own weekend activities..hiking, riding my horse, camping, canoeing, etc. In that workplace, I was promoted out of that group and given my own department, with my best friend in the company. She was funny, and similar to me. But in another group where the co-teacher wanted the class to himself and kept making false accusations about me, I changed jobs.

I made sure my kids were reading illustrated, beginning books on human reproduction when they were five, and after that, whenever they went to the local library for books. I wanted the sex subject to be boring to them, not some big exciting secret that older kids could use to manipulate them. I told my daughter when she was eleven to never allow men to have unprotected sex with her, or to ejaculate in her, no matter what he says. I said that most men want to have sex with most women-no matter what their age, so it's not flattering if a boy wants to have sex, and to remember that she is always in charge and should be calling the shots. The men are the beggars, and she should NEVER do anything sexual to "keep" a boy. My kids didn't become sexually active until 18 years old, in which case, it was their business, not mine. My daughter must have remembered what I said because she never became pregnant and when she was living with her boyfriends, she'd dump them if they began hinting about having children. She also dumped boyfriends who began pressuring her to marry them, and has started her own art business.

Anyone still wake up screaming from the nightmares?
birdingnut comments on Aug 24, 2018:
I started having night terrors and nightmares in my early 40s, until I realized it was happening because my hormone balance was changing. I began taking hormone-balancing herbs..St. John's Wort, powdered root beer (Mexican Sarsapirilla), and eating fish for the Omega-3 oil, etc. which stopped them. Later on, I found that derris scandens, Thai herb capsules which can be bought on Amazon and Ebay, also stopped menopause hormone imbalance issues, at least for me. Now, at age 65, I take strong cannabis oil to treat cancer, and to prevent paranoia and nightmares from the THC, I put a few drops of tincture of iodine in water once a day. It works very well.
I have to apologize to my friends here.

I didn't leave for Thailand in 2010 until my 40-year-racking horse passed away naturally, and I'd already sold my last two TN Walking Horses. I found a home for my racking mule, so now I don't have any more horses But I trained, rode, drove, did roping with, and jumped horses since I was eleven, in Haiti. My first horse was a Haitian mustang stallion and after that I bought an Akhal Teke throw-back mare, who could beat any horse in the valley. In the US I had many breeds..Arabian, American White, Standardbred, etc., but finally settled on only gaited horses, once I moved to Kentucky..racking, five-gaited, TN Walking Horses, grade racking horses, etc. Photos: 1.me jumping a log on my TN Walker, Banjo, near Soldier, KY. 2.Rabbit, my racking mule and my retired 40-year-old racking trail horse 3.Me driving Banjo on Daniel Boone National Forest access roads, near Morehead, KY 4.Me on my first Haitian mustang, a stallion 5.My kids skijoring with my son's horse, Black Jack on our Kentucky farm. birdingnut comments on Aug 24, 2018:
People who become bonded to their children, usually at their birth, will do anything for them and think their babies are superior to all others. This happens most often with home births where women hold and nurse their newborns immediately after birth, but is often missed when women are drugged in hospitals during birth. It's normal to keep loosening the parental controls as the children mature, but many people try to keep their children under their thumbs even when the children should have long been independent in most areas, and some mothers try to live through their kids, failing to develop friends, interests, and have work beyond the home.

Is it better to have loved and lost, than to have never loved at all?
birdingnut comments on Aug 24, 2018:
It depends. If you loved someone and it was reciprical and you were compatible but something went wrong, then it's better to have loved and lost. But if you are in a pattern of loving emotionally abusive people and gaslighters, then it's better to leave romance alone until you get a handle on your need to punish yourself.
