Who's here from Boise Idaho?
birdingnut comments on Aug 18, 2018:
You can find out by doing a members search. This website has a bit of a learning curve. For members who are open to dating, certain thumbnails and profiles have a heart symbol on them with a percentage. This identifies which members are open to dating, and the percent shows approximately how compatible others are with them. You can improve your website score in general by answering all the profile questions and writing a bio, which also earns website points, and helps other members get to know you. Commenting on posts and writing your own posts earns more points. At level two you can private message people, and at level eight you get an agnostic T-shirt. If you want to date, the website uses profile algorithms to find member matches, so the more details one includes, the better the match. Many people prefer to see a written profile talking about interests, hobbies, and backgrounds that can be quickly perused to find others who are compatible with them. In case you didn't know yet, to find members near you, click on the "Browse" button at the top of the page, then on "Members," and enter your preferred search parameters. Click on the "Discuss" button, then "Nearby" to find members near you also. Or click on the "About" button at the top left of the page to find links to FAQ or the website tutorial. Points are now being given to level 3+ members who chat. You can see chat rooms on the group main page or at https://agnostic.com/groups/rooms.

No reason to think energy souls don't exist, and quantum physics already tells us different dimensions exist. I don't mean to brag, but I can annoy my teenage daughter just by existing!
birdingnut comments on Aug 17, 2018:
It's a good sign, actually, showing that children are starting to identify with their peers instead of just their families. They are choosing lifetime roles, preferences, clothing and food tastes, imprinting on the particular society of their peers. Admitting even to themselves that they are still children, subject to parental control, embarrasses them. In other cultures, teens would already be married, making a living, or apprenticed somewhere, not hanging around the house. "Modern Family" humorously makes fun of a child who fails to rebel in the child character "Manny" who tries to court girls using techniques from the 1930s, LOL!

I don't volunteer information, so no need to lie. If someone is asking me a nosy question, I say, "Why do you ask?" and change the subject. Leaving out information to deceive someone, though, is the same as lying, so when some guy doesn't mention he's in a relationship, when courting a new woman, then is confronted later, he often protests that he didn't technically "lie."

Men love long hair on women so many women have it for that reason. But not everyone believes their hair to exists to please men. I keep my hair length just above my shoulders and because it's wavy, it stays higher than that. I cut my hair myself when it starts to annoy me, by frizzing out from the sides of my head, or getting in my eyes. I don't even look in a mirror..I just grab small handfuls of hair, slide my fingers down the clump of hair until I feel it taper off, then snip off the spindly end tips. I keep doing this all over my head until I no longer see frizzy, jagged hair. It doesn't take long, and the wave in my hair makes it look OK afterward.

I didn't wake up until the 2016 election when my childhood white evangelical friends began posting hate memes against minorities and the LGBTQ community, and praising Trump. I began defriending and blocking them and soon found that many relatives and most of my siblings were also white supremacist Trumpites, so I cut them off also. The parents who sent their kids to Catholic churches and schools should also be prosecuted for child endangerment. There have been decades of church pedophile ring exposures, yet they put their children in harm's way.

Just take it easy and read some of the other posts..you'll get the hang of it. By the way, this website has a bit of a learning curve. Yup. That article describes my life accurately. This year, when I decided to come out as agnostic, I also defriended and deleted two abusive siblings from my social circle because I was deleting Trumpites from my social media. Sadly, I'd kept "forgiving" my family and allowing them to stay in my life, because of my religious beliefs, even though I neither trusted nor liked them, since the abuse, derision, and disrespect was ongoing. Before my parents died, in 2008, I did confront them and get them to apologize. Nor sure if they really understood what they'd done to me, though.
This article has given me pause.

birdingnut comments on Aug 15, 2018:
Nothing you can do for them. But you can train them NOT to being up religion by simply ignoring them whenever they do, murmuring "Um, hum, that's nice," while looking bored, then leaving the room every time they bring it up. Only look at religious people and smile at them when they speak on neutral subjects in a friendly manner. This quickly trains them to avoid religious subjects.

This method is very QUICK to train people to avoid talking about religion.

Catch and release dating. Is that like hook ups?
birdingnut comments on Aug 14, 2018:
From the Urban Dictionary: Catch and release - n - the practice of hooking up with someone and not becoming emotionally/physically attached to them. As a result, other people have a chance to hook up with this person because he or she has been "caught and released" back into the wild. Ben: "Yo I nailed this girl last night" Dave: "So are you going to call her later?" Ben: "Hell no man, I practice catch and release. That way, you can have a shot with her next weekend."
Just trying to get to grips with the HOW of it.
