People want to stop by and just say hello

Hi, Elvis, This website has a bit of a learning curve so here is some information that might be helpful. New members are encouraged to earn website points, and help other members get to know them better, by writing an informational profile that includes their hobbies and interests, and answering all the profile questions, since that's the first place many people look when they see a new member. Also, the website uses profiles to find member matches, so the more details one includes, the better the match. Then people make comments and write their own posts to earn more points and privileges; for instance, at level two someone can private email people. There are different perks with each level, and when you reach level eight you get an agnostic T-shirt. To find members near you, click on the "Meet" button at the top of the page, then on "Members," and enter your preferred search parameters. Or click on the "About" button at the top of the page to find links to FAQ or the website tutorial. Click on the 'Meet" button to find member matches Levels are mostly a way to help identify and reward those who contribute to the growth of the community. The website also gives more access and benefits depending on level.https://agnostic.com/levels.php Perks for each level: https://agnostic.com/discuss/levels Links to FAQ: https://agnostic.com/faq, and a website tutorial: https://agnostic.com/welcome

Slowing of time
birdingnut comments on Jun 22, 2018:
Yes, people can slow time perception at will, such as in meditation, for example. When I was growing up, I would mentally slow time when playing sports to see what direction the baseball or ping-pong ball was spinning so I could unwind it, and to give me time to hit the ball. I also imagined the basketball hoops being so huge, I couldn't miss. I did this instinctively, and later read that all great sports stars do this.

birdingnut comments on Jun 22, 2018:
Hmm...sounds bad. The only purpose in life humans have is to be happy. All the other stuff is just social pressure. I don't know what natural substances you have access to where you live, but if you can get it, CBD oil lifts the mood and stops depression. Or cannabis oil. Other things that help: take a long, early morning walk, as that resets the thyroid for a higher mood and energy. Eat fish; the Omega-3 oil will raise your mood. Eat cashew nuts to get magnesium and raise the mood. Get a cuddly, loving pet that accepts you as you are. Dogs are great for this, if you walk them and play with them, but other animals can work as well. Read a good book, watch a funny movie, take a long hike outdoors. If you like to do something, do it.
Its an absolutely glorious june day.

The only meat I eat is fish, so I'm mostly vegetarian, but since I've had cancer, strangely, my body has had other ideas. I'm taking cannabis oil and getting better, but one thing that happened was that my severe food allergies seem to have mostly disappeared as my appetite returned. My fish intake has doubled and I started eating ice cream and sticky rice mixed fruit rolls, things I couldn't eat for decades. I even could eat dried shrimp thingies that look and taste like pork rinds. Weird. It seems like my body is craving and needing animal oils because now when I eat them, I improve.

birdingnut comments on Jun 22, 2018:
Don't worry..men usually only run if the woman becomes the pursuer, acts needy and desperate, proclaims her undying love for him, buys him little love gifts, and in general takes the role of the male pursuer. If she moons over him, pleads with him, acts like a groveling love struck person who can't survive on her own, he'll run, sooner or later, to a more independent, interesting woman. The book "The Rules" is SOO true. Let the man to the pursuing, ask the questions, set the dates, pay for dates, plan them, and never accept a date unless it's asked three days in advance. Otherwise you'd love to, but you have other plans. Be vague, seem busy. Act like a woman who has places to go and people to see. Never stop dating other people, or have sex with him, unless you are exclusive. Men are quickly bored and if women seem too eager or clingy, they tend to move on. This works very well, and when I followed it I had to beat men off with a stick. But for me it comes naturally since I PREFER being single and only ever dated to humor my family and seem normal. I didn't chase after them because I didn't care, and of course they were intrigued and clung to me.

Hi, Justin, and welcome to the website, This website combines dating with conversation/discussions. It has a bit of a learning curve so here is some information that might be helpful. You earn website points, and help other members get to know you better, when you write an informational profile that includes your hobbies and interests, and answer all the profile questions, since that's the first place many people look when they see a new member. Also, the website uses your profile to find member matches, so the more details you include, the better the match. Then you make comments and write your own posts to earn more points and privileges; for instance, at level two you can private email people. You get different perks with each level, and when you reach level eight you get an agnostic T-shirt. The website also gives more access and benefits depending on level.https://agnostic.com/levels.php Perks for each level: https://agnostic.com/discuss/levels Links to FAQ: https://agnostic.com/faq, and a website tutorial: https://agnostic.com/welcome Have fun!
What is your greatest skill ?
birdingnut comments on Jun 21, 2018:
Honestly? My ability to communicate with animals-of all kinds. People used to contact me for help with their pets when the pets were freaking out since I could talk to them in my mind and find out the problem. I didn't even use a saddle or bridle with my mules and horses..they just read my mind and did things as I thought of them. No matter which country I've been visiting, wild animals have come to me for help, knowing I will help them. They allow me to save their lives without attacking me, then almost always return later to thank me. For instance, once at Kino Beach, Mexico, on the Gulf of CA, I saved a wounded Blue-footed Booby that had been savaged by a frigate bird. The next time we were at the beach, a blue-footed booby peeled off from the flock and swooped low over our boat, hovering and looking me in the eye before flying off.

I'm the one who does the "ghosting." I usually have a few conversations with someone, then never return to it, forget all about it. Sometimes in the middle of a protracted conversation on messenger with some guy, I'll excuse myself to return to some exciting Kindle book I'm in the middle of reading. They usually take the point and don't contact me again. So far, nobody has been able to compete with a book.

birdingnut comments on Jun 21, 2018:
Same here. I was sexually assaulted by a doctor relative who was giving us physicals during our furlough to the US when I was 15 years old. I told my mom, and she said nothing, so I realized I was supposed to be quiet about it. I learned self-defense and began carrying non-lethal weapons that could do real harm, so from then on, men were more wary, although many kept trying. Later on, I did send a letter to the AMA about my relative and accused him. By then he was probably retired, though.
Are there any women hikers or backpackers out there?
birdingnut comments on Jun 21, 2018:
Sure, I've been overnight hiking on the Appalachian Trail, and in the Rocky Mountains. I currently hike every day to do bird photography, and I even made an invention that lets me lope tirelessly, like a four-footed animal, up hill and down, without slipping or tiring because I use gravity and my own weight to power me. Because I seem to be a harmless deer, birds and wildlife allow me to approach closely without alarm.
Just watched Ali Wong on Netflix. Who is your favorite comedian and why?

I could only watch her until she began discussing her genitals and sexual practices. Grossed me out. I feel the same way about male comedians, who mostly seem obsessed with their own genitals and think we should also be fascinated by them. We're not.

birdingnut comments on Jun 21, 2018:
Hi, Gagan, and welcome to the website, Of course people care about those things. Men typically go for the youngest, most attractive woman's photo they see in dating websites, but women want to know if a prospective mate is employed, attractive, healthy, has the same interests, is the same nationality, etc. No woman wants to date an unemployed 300 lb loser who lives with his mother. In my case, I don't even date someone who loves hunting and fishing, or plays golf. This website has a bit of a learning curve so here is some information that might be helpful. I don't care what people believe until it intrudes into public life and harms people, including me. Here in Thailand I have friends who are Thai Buddhist, Hindu, and Muslim, and the Europeans are mostly nonpracticing, liberal Christians. I pay little attention to which religion people follow until some (usually American) Christian fanatic starts preaching at me. Then I quickly distance myself from them, avoiding them from then on.

Is the capacity to ask "why" unique to humanity?
birdingnut comments on Jun 21, 2018:
Corvids, octopuses, and other animals with higher intelligence certainly are capable of asking why, as they can understand how things work and adjust their behavior to accommodate it without having to try it first, both to escape and to obtain food from complicated mazes and puzzles. Young mountain gorillas have even been observed methodically springing snares and traps using branches, so other gorillas won't get caught. At a certain intelligence level, animals also understand the concept of mirrors and will touch places on their faces where researchers have marked them.

Sometimes I feel like I've woken up in an alternate universe.
birdingnut comments on Jun 21, 2018:
Hi, Gabby, Yup-I often say I feel like I stumbled into an alternate universe. Several cousins on my dad's side of the family are religious wing nuts who support Trump. Even one of my brothers! This website has a bit of a learning curve, so here is some information that might be helpful. You earn website points, and help other members get to know you better, when you write an informational profile that includes your hobbies and interests, and answer all the profile questions, since that's the first place many people look when they see a new member. You make comments and write your own posts to earn more points and privileges; for instance, at level two you can private email people. You get different perks with each level, and when you reach level eight you get an agnostic T-shirt. To find members near you, click on the "Meet" button at the top of the page, then on "Members," and enter your preferred search parameters. Or click on the "About" button at the top of the page to find links to FAQ or the website tutorial. Have you ever felt totality stupid self identifying as "genderfluid"
birdingnut comments on Jun 21, 2018:
I was genderfluid all my life but didn't realize it until 2014 (I'm currently 65). About then I accidentally discovered that a local Thai herb, derris scandens, also sold on amazon.com, cures gender dysphoria, and even cleared up my severe dyslexia symptoms. My eyesight became sharp and I could much better tolerate the hot Thailand sun also. I still don't know if anyone I've recommended this herb to before has bought any, and/or had similar results from taking it. Mostly people on transgender forums grab the derris scandens info and disappear and I don't hear from them again.
Make sense of that!.

Psychology of women's profile for men they would/want to date
birdingnut comments on Jun 20, 2018:
How many women have actually dated men who are honest, generous, and caring? Many/most men lie to gain advantage and hide their true activities, like pretending to like the women while really just plotting to seduce them asap. Many men are selfish..hiding their bass boat purchases while criticizing their wives when they spend money on hair salons. Men can be caring when it's to their advantage, but if their regular romantic partners are out of town and a hot new woman starts eyeing them, it's amazing how quickly many men will remove their wedding rings.
Anyone else binge watching "Marcella" on Netflix?

Do you believe in good and bad?
birdingnut comments on Jun 20, 2018:
I am almost finished reading Gone with the Wind, for the upteenth time, on Kindle. I love the way Margaret Mitchell clearly shows how people define good and evil in their minds, depending on their backgrounds and social conditioning. Like in Huckleberry Finn, she doesn't spell out morality, just gives a neutral report of people's mindsets in a particular time of history in a certain part of the world, letting readers see the irony for themselves. I.e.; Scarlet O'Hara thinks killing a Yankee looter is "murder" but other Southerners think it was heroic. People thought Scarlet was cruel and wrong to steal her sister's fiance, but Scarlet knew it was more wrong to allow Tara to be sold and everyone living there to become homeless. Northerners thought slavery was wrong, but Southerners thought turning slaves loose to starve in the street and die of disease was worse, etc.

I grew up being taught that marriage was the goal.
birdingnut comments on Jun 20, 2018:
At least in the US, there are many reasons for marriage..being able to combine incomes and afford the rent and insurance, having protection for women so they aren't targeted as single women living alone. Financial and social support for women who choose to have children. In other countries, though, the social net is strong enough that women can comfortably raise children on their own and everything is taken care of.
I went to a Senior Citizen singles group today.
