Hi, Oro, You earn website points, and help other members get to know you better, when you write an informational profile that includes your hobbies and interests, and answer all the profile questions, since that's the first place many people look when they see a new member. Then you make comments and write your own posts to earn more points and privileges. You get different perks with each level, and when you reach level eight you get an agnostic T-shirt. To find members near you, click on the "Meet" button at the top of the page, then on "Members," and enter your preferred search parameters. When I lived in the US (I moved to Thailand n 2010) I used to camp year around in a screen tent out by the horse pasture on our family farm, to keep track of meteor showers and night bird movements. I also saw plenty of wildlife drama as well. Most of the time I camped in a tent when I traveled, usually at a KOA-for their hot showers- or national park campground.

Is it OK to lie on your profile in order to get a date?
birdingnut comments on Jun 14, 2018:
I will google them anyway before committing to going on a real date, and look at their Facebook pages. If they are lying about their appearance, age, occupation, education, hobbies, pets. etc., I would immediately ghost them.
So, was talking to a friend of mine this weekend at a BBQ.

What's the worst piece of advice anyone has ever given you?
birdingnut comments on Jun 14, 2018:
My mom; never refuse sex to your husband, always forgive him and try to keep him happy, because if things don't work out, you can't move back in with us. Of course, with no consequences, my husband cheated constantly, spent most of our money on himself, and eventually ran off with a younger woman, leaving me with two young children. I finally grew a backbone and had him jailed for back child support. I told my daughter to 1.NEVER allow a man to release sperm in her. Ever. Condoms break. Birth control can fail. Remember that she is ALWAYS in charge of how things should be done in bed. A man who won't listen gets dumped. 2.Don't get married. If you want to have sex or live together, do it, but don't get married. If you break up with your boyfriend you can always move in with me, even if we must share a cardboard box. 3.Don't have children until you are thirty and established in your career. It takes two to raise a child and if you don't have a loyal mate, you will be forced to let your child be raised by others.

birdingnut comments on Jun 14, 2018:
Hi, Dreamer, You're right; it's NEVER a good idea for a woman to move somewhere to be with a man, or to be the one doing the changing and pursuing. If things don't work out, she could find herself homeless, or at his financial mercy. If a prey animal runs toward a predator, that predator will run, because it knows something is wrong with the prey. Even when it looks like women who pursue men have been successful, since most men will take free sex when offered, later on, the men are likely to leave to pursue more interesting, independent women. By the way, you earn website points, and help other members get to know you better, when you write an informational profile that includes your hobbies and interests, and answer all the profile questions, since that's the first place many people look when they see a new member. Also, the website uses your profile to find member matches, so the more details you include, the better the match. Then you make comments and write your own posts to earn more points and privileges; for instance, at level two you can private email people. You get different perks with each level, and when you reach level eight you get an agnostic T-shirt. I have an interesting theory on ghosts I’d like to get your opinion on.
birdingnut comments on Jun 14, 2018:
Cool idea! Possibly some of the "ghost sightings" are from astro projections, but there is another possible ghost source; when I was reading books on reincarnation research done on children ages 2-6, with researchers verifying the details of each recalled past-life memory, I read of children who remembered being animals, trees, and even ghosts, when between reincarnations. One boy said that after he was killed in a remote village, he hung around near his body for a year as a ghost, living in a nearby tree, then began running around with other boy ghosts his age. He said once they chased some village boys and threw rocks at them. But later, he saw a man passing through the village, so he boarded the bus with him, followed him home, and inhabited his wife's baby in the womb. There were a number of stories like this, and the researchers were able to interview people named in the boys' stories; for instance, the boys from the village who had rocks thrown at them by the ghosts, and the man who was passing through the village. He said that was the only time he'd been through that village. Another boy, who had been killed as a military leader in the civil war, told of hanging around his grave for a few years and following various cemetery visitors around for awhile, just to hear them talk. He said he got so lonely that eventually he followed one of them home and inhabited his wife's unborn baby as well. The boys often talked of competitions between various ghosts to get into the available fetuses, so that each pregnancy is like a ghost "land rush." In some cases, the ghosts appeared to the pregnant women in dreams to ask their permission to inhabit their babies, and were granted it. Sure enough, when interviewed, the women remembered the dreams, which some of them had discussed with relatives. Of course, this doesn't mean there aren't multiple sources of what people call "ghosts."
Why do people choose "alternative" religions?
birdingnut comments on Jun 14, 2018:
Probably that has a lot to do with it. People want to belong, and after they lose their childhood religious identity, they sometimes want to replace it.
Hey, how is everyone doing.

Indigo childs, an athiest have a clear opinion about indigo child, share your opinions and knowledge...
birdingnut comments on Jun 14, 2018:
The "indigo children" concepts were developed by Nancy Anne Tappe in the 1970s, crediting certain children with having indigo colored "auras," and supernatural, empathetic abilities, although when Tappe's ideas later became popular in New Age religions, she backtracked on her claims about their auras. Her list of attributes for indigo children is so vague that they could apply to almost anyone, but it gave parents with children on the autism spectrum, and those with behavioral problems, a high status label to use instead of a mental illness term. The Native American Indians called androgynous, or nonbinary children, "two spirit" children. They were honored, and often trained as shamans, since they were credited for having unusual psychic abilities. I dunno. According to research done on west Texas white children during the late 1800s who had been captives of Native Americans for at least six months, most of them acquired the same amazing psychic abilities as their captors, even after they were returned to their Christian white families. This even occurred with captive adult soldiers, who were soon able to see the future with the help of their animal spirit guides, direct game to come to them, control the weather, heal animals and people with their thoughts, etc. When I read their autobiographical accounts, I was surprised how they didn't seem to see any conflict between their acquired powers and their Christian beliefs. I concluded that all humans have these latent abilities but the western rational training suppresses it. Nevertheless, I read that when researchers surveyed the most successful businessmen, and people who were extraordinarily "lucky" in escaping great disasters, they all seemed to have a strong tendency to listen to their inner "intuition." Businessmen would have a "feeling" about making certain deals, or people would have a strong feeling not to board a certain flight, which later crashed, etc.

birdingnut comments on Jun 14, 2018:
I know (shudder). I read several studies showing that most men see themselves as they appeared at 15 years old, and never revise that internal image. Just look at the photos of men on this website. Even when he is over 300 lbs, unemployed, and living with his mom, he still believes he's a catch. I suppose it's the testosterone talking.
This Question starts with the Answer...
