Did anyone else just watch the Belmont Stakes?
birdingnut comments on Jun 9, 2018:
I used to watch all the major races when I lived in Kentucky, and even used to go watch the Lexington Keeneland races just prior to the KY Derby-for free, since the same horses ran in the Derby. Here in Thailand I sometimes get to see recaps of major horse races around the world on one or the other of the three English language news channels seen here in Songkhla, but it's random and I can't rely on it.
Hello everyone.

Hi, Dreaming, and welcome to the website! You earn website points, and help other members get to know you better, when you write an informational profile and answer all the profile questions, since that's the first place many people look when they see a new member. Also, the website uses your profile to find member matches, so the more details you include, the better the match. Then you make comments and write your own posts to earn more points, and when you reach level two you can private email people. You get different perks with different levels, and when you reach level eight you get an agnostic T-shirt. To find members near you, click on the "Meet" button at the top of the page, then on "Members," and enter your preferred search parameters. birdingnut comments on Jun 8, 2018:
We DO live forever. Einstein showed that all matter is a form of energy, so since energy can neither be created nor destroyed, we have always existed and will always exist in some energy form, and quantum physics already proves that multiple dimensions exist. There could be reincarnation, for that matter. "For physicists, the distinction between past, present and future is only a stubbornly persistent illusion." -Einstein.

birdingnut comments on Jun 8, 2018:
Einstein taught us that all matter is a form of energy, so since energy can neither be created nor destroyed, we have always existed and will always exist in some energy form, and quantum physics already tells us different dimensions exist. Therefore reincarnation is possible and children worldwide who remember past lives, ages 2-6, had details they remembered from from other reincarnations checked out by researchers, and found to be valid "For physicists, the distinction between past, present and future is only a stubbornly persistent illusion." -Einstein. Physics also indicates we are participating in creating our own universes/reality: “I regard consciousness as fundamental and matter as derivative from consciousness." – Max Planck, theoretical physicist who originated quantum theory, 1918 Nobel Prize in Physics

I think public schools are total bunk. A famous study often aired during in the 1980s on the Kentucky Learning channel, showed that in classes with self-directed study, and five children per teacher, children could advance a grade every TWO WEEKS. Preschoolers, learning-challenged, even "retarded" kids, up to older adults, used to go from not being able to read at all, to speed reading, in 20 minutes, when I was using Sing, Spell, Read, and Write phonics songs/charts - seen for free on YouTube. Kids even got copies of the charts after they learned the songs, then went home and taught their 2-3 year old siblings to read, so it has nothing to do with my skills, but with using the right hemisphere of the brain with color and music. It even works on Thai children who don't know English. All the rest of school is deliberate time-wasting warehousing-they hold all the kids back to move in lock-step, so parents can go to work and not have to pay for childcare. And, of course, so they can keep feeding out of the public money funds. Such nonsense.

Hi, Ubik, and welcome to the website! When I started teaching English literature at a university prep school in Hermosillo, MX, the supervisor made a big deal of telling the new foreign teacher staff that plagiarism wasn't allowed and we were to report any cheating. After a few months, two of my students-who sat next to each other- had identical answers on short essay answers to a test. I notified the students, then took the tests to the supervisor's office for her to take care of it. Instead she said icily that the father of one of the girls had paid for the school wing to be built. Then she stopped talking to me and my contract wasn't renewed. From then on in foreign schools, I talked to the resident teachers first to find out the minimum grades the school would accept for students, then made sure nobody scored below that, and never called anyone for cheating.
What about weird people?
birdingnut comments on Jun 7, 2018:
Agnostics and atheists are typically higher IQ than the general population, and the higher the creative IQ, the more mental issues appear on the DNA. Furthermore, other studies show that the more the gender characteristic sliding scale moves to the middle-the more androgynous the person is, statistically, the higher the IQ, on average. The extreme ends of the gender characteristic scale...the most "femme" women and most "macho" men, are the most successful at long term relationships and raising progeny, but have the lowest IQs, on average. Creative high IQ people are often obsessive, either socially clueless or indifferent, pursuing their projects more than social interactions. These are often the typical "nerds" mocked by popular jocks.

I mentioned I'm now agnostic to one of my younger sisters two days ago on Facebook messenger, and she was horrified, began immediately to "preach" me back into the fold. Strange, since she doesn't even attend church and is very liberal. I said she could believe whatever she wants, and I'd love her anyway, and signed off.

I had married, hetero parents who loved each other and were also United Methodist missionaries, yet in many ways they were TERRIBLE parents. My dad didn't want more than two children, didn't want girls, and took it out on me for being an accidental pregnancy, and a girl. He often whipped us girls (never my brothers, who could do no wrong) and ridiculed us and my mom allowed it. My mom also didn't believe in picking up or cuddling children because she might "spoil" them so we were given bottles and left to cry alone. Even though I was only two years old, I tried to cuddle and comfort my younger sister, but my mom stopped me if she caught me. I was expected to get married, but my mom did advise me to get a college degree so I could get a job, in case my husband died. My brother got braces but I didn't, because I was only a girl.

After a few dates, I can tell if I want to continue or not. But there are MANY qualifications they must have first; must be educated, upper class Caucasian American, fit, active, intelligent, funny, well-traveled. Deal breakers: Men who play golf, fish or hunt, fanatically watch the NFL or NASCAR, eat junk food, prefer to lie in front of the TV drinking beer, don't read, don't know anything about countries outside the US, have a large dog that has the run of the house, is emotionally dependent on an ex or his mother, is unemployed, is overweight, is short.
