Trump doesn't seem all that different than most of my exes, and a few male relatives. Many/most cis hetero men think they know everything, while profoundly ignorant, think all women want them, lie like rugs, manipulate people to get what they want, etc. The only thing that stops most men from acting like Trump is WOMEN, but since Trump is so rich he doesn't have to make women happy to get sex, so there's no constraint.
Where did American Christians get the idea that this country was founded on Christian Values?!

Generally if I read more than one article about something that I have already experienced for myself, then I tend to somewhat believe it. That's why I, unlike most Americans, don't make fun of people who see UFOs, since I've seen hundreds of them..almost always with mutliple witnesses, and often close up, both in Haiti and the US, during the late 1960s-through late 1970s, and then only once after that, in 1999, over my Kentucky farm, while stargazing with a new boyfriend.

Should you use the word "sex" in your profile?
birdingnut comments on Jun 2, 2018:
Yes. It's a red flag. With ANY male who disses, dismisses, insults, or even angrily argues with you, it's time to hit the "block" button before you waste any more of your time. A cis hetero man is typically wired to be respectful of women and loyal to his partner (I'm only a partial transmale, but I am also), but many men on this website have mixed gender characteristics, also associated with high IQ, and are critical, moody, and picky with women. Any sign of this and I hit "block." Been there, done that with those types.
Ladies: I’m curious.
birdingnut comments on Jun 2, 2018:
When I hit puberty it was 1965, before tampons. My mom even showed me how to use an uncomfortable elastic harness to hold the bulky pad in place, and to wear plastic underwear over the cotton ones. Furthermore, I was hit with such sickening cramps I had to go to bed for three days a month, on heavy pain medication. I thought I'd fallen into hell. Years later, a gynecologist found I have a tipped uterus, causing the problems. But ALSO, I was horrified when my body started changing shortly before the periods started. I didn't realize I'm a partial transmale and had assumed I'm male, never thinking about it. Up to that point I'd blended in with and been accepted as a male by the other Haiti MKs (missionary kids), even led a gang of boys. But when my body began to transform, my male pals began to change their behavior toward me in alarming ways, and missionary men began finding excuses to sit next to me and try to hug me. I wanted to kick them in their privates, but settled for cold looks and walking away. I used to beg god to change my lumpy legs back to the beautiful straight sticks I had before, and my painfully growing chest interfered with my throwing arm.

What do people think of the idea of being childfree?
birdingnut comments on Jun 1, 2018:
I've seen charts and read gender studies showing that people on the extreme ends of the gender characteristics sliding scale-i.e. the most "femme" women and "macho" men, are the most successful in long-term relationships and producing progeny, since they have the most hard-wired traits needed for courting and raising young. But statistically, they also have the lowest average IQs. As the gender marker slides toward the center, indicating an increasing mixture of gender traits, the IQs also rise, so that the ones in the middle have the highest average IQs, but also their mixed traits make them less inclined to courting and reproducing. Instead, they usually are often too busy inventing things, directing movies, writing music and books, being successful actors, etc. These people are often beautiful and talented, but can't seem to maintain successful long-term relationships, since they lack the necessary instincts. For instance, females typically rule cis hetero relationships, and when men don't listen to them, the marriages don't last. But high IQ men with independent female traits typically don't want to listen to their mates, so the relationships break up. "John Gottman, a well known marriage researcher, and his colleagues followed 130 newlywed couples for six years to find what marriages succeeded and why. Turns out, happy, stable marriages had one thing in common: The husband was willing to accept his wife's influence. In contrast, when husbands responded to their wives' complaints by stonewalling or belittling them, the marriage was almost sure to fail: More than four-fifths of those relationships — 81 percent — fell apart." Gottman, John M., and Nan Silver. (1999). “Principle 4: Let Your Partner Influence You,” in The Seven Principles for Making Marriages Work (Chapter Six, 100-127).

That's how I used to teach my students how to play tennis. I'd tell them to stand there and do nothing while I hit a ball past them, but to think about the right time to hit the ball. I'd lob the ball past them about five times, then tell them to hit it and from then on, they didn't miss. I had instant tennis players. I also taught instant speed-reading, and instant phonetic reading, having kids ages two to high school age go from knowing nothing to speed-reading in about 20 minutes, or less. This even worked with learning disabled kids and later on, with Thai kids who didn't know English..they could read aloud in English even if they didn't know what it meant, although with Thai kids, I skipped the speed reading part.

birdingnut comments on Jun 1, 2018:
I say "thank you," if I don't know them well, but if it's someone I see a lot, I say, "There's no god, but thanks for the positive energy." I actually said that to my sister on Facebook messenger two days ago, when I told her I'd recently stopped believing in god or the Bible. She was shocked and launched into preaching mode, but I just said she could believe in blue monkeys for all I cared..she was free to believe whatever she wanted. She then asked if it were OK to say she'd pray for me, and I said, "Sure, since any answers to prayer have been coming from us, all along."

birdingnut comments on Jun 1, 2018:
Open relationships have to be agreed upon by both parties, with clear boundaries established in advance. As long as both agree and are participating, there's no cheating involved. I never forgot an architect/photographer in Lexington, KY, who said he had divorced his wife for cheating on him, remarking, "If she'd told me she wanted an open relationship, it would have been fine, but she did it behind my back, and that betrayed my trust in her." Later on, he gave me this speech; "It's been years since I've been with a woman, or found someone interesting enough to want to be with the rest of my life, but you seem to be that person. We can just be dance partners, be friends with benefits, have an open relationship, or have a monogamous one, whatever you want." I was floored and nearly cried..I'd never heard anything so wonderful in my life. I opted for monogamous friends with benefits, and we got together most weekends to dance the night away and more.

When we returned he decided that, "I can't let you go" and locked the doors, blocking my escape, then started to lunge at me. I know karate and how to kill people but this guy is 6' 2," a fit ex-Marine, and I'm only 5' 3." Besides, I didn't feel like explaining his death or any injuries to his aunt. Then I remembered that men can only think of one thing at a time. I suddenly said that my truck windows were iced over, so could he help me get the ice off? He stopped, jumped out, and chipped off the ice, while I quickly dove into the truck and locked the doors. He was angry and the next day began sending me threatening notes (I don't know how he got my address) about how evil I was to trick him, how could I do that to him, etc., but I wrote back that he'd tried to force himself on me and if he contacted me again, I'd call the police.

What do you do when you love someone deeply but don't see a future with them?
birdingnut comments on May 31, 2018:
Yup. Cut. Your. Losses. Now. RUN.
Anyone ever had an encounter with a ghost
birdingnut comments on May 31, 2018:
I had visions of my favorite aunt, my sister-in-law, and both of my parents at the time of their deaths, including the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej of Thailand, who died at 88, Oct. 13, 2016, so I must have considered him family. I was in the Tesco-Lotus mall EGV movie theater in Songkhla, Thailand, that day, waiting for the movie to start when I looked up and "saw" the Thai king standing nearby in a palace room, talking to a monk, and I knew he'd just died. I asked him in my mind if he had agreed to his death and he paused to "think" to me that yes he wanted to go. He then walked away, still talking to the monk, and they disappeared down a side passage. In my mom's case, it was like I was in her head, experiencing her thoughts as she had a heart attack and died. I was so shook up I cried and almost made my husband drive all night back to Kentucky. In my dad's case, he just appeared to me, filling my mind, looking about 13 years old, bubbly and cute. I knew who he was and that he'd just died, but we chatted happily awhile about the past good times and he told me how much he loved me and how proud he was of me, something he couldn't do in real life until just before his death. I then turned to my husband and told him my dad had just died and to note the exact time. In all these cases I was correct. As for ghosts, researchers studying children ages 2-6 who remember past lives reported that a number of them remembered being ghosts between reincarnations, and one boy even told of getting together with other boy ghosts and throwing rocks at living children to scare them. The researcher interviewed the children the boy said he'd thrown rocks at in that particular village and they recalled that event. The boy said that he hung around the village for awhile as a ghost, then followed a man home on the bus and entered the fetus of his pregnant wife. Strangely, the current father of the child, remembered being in that far-flung village on that day and taking the bus. As usual, if you troll this comment I will just block you.

Religious people are afraid to question church teaching and risk going to hell. Fear and hate are powerful controlling elements.
Are you an "overlapper"?
birdingnut comments on May 31, 2018:
I'm an "other" so there's no category for me, but since I'm demisexual, I've not only not overlapped but I've never wanted ANY relationships. Men always had to work very hard to win me over, and it takes over a year before I feel sexual attraction for anyone, and then it's only for that one person. I presume I could be won over by a woman as well, but so far only men have been that persistent.

?? I don't get it - can't you get cannabis edibles where you live? No hangover, non-addictive, makes you feel peaceful and happy, and cures cancer among many other things. What's not to love?

Any time you persuade wild birds or animals to look to humans for food and to approach them, you are putting them at risk. And yourself, from disease. Best to leave food at a distance.

Does anybody else almost message someone and then talk yourself out of it?
birdingnut comments on May 31, 2018:
I take derris scanden, a Thai herb, to stay in androgyne (mixed gender characteristics and mind set) female mode, but back when I was gender fluid (alternating between male and female gender perspectives) and in "male mode" I could pick up women so smoothly I didn't even know it was happening until came to myself with beautiful giggling girls on each arm. My horrified female side would usually activate and get rid of them, but I was impressed with how my male side exploited his knowledge of women to win them over. For instance, he remembered details about the women, their interests, hobbies, and noticed their shoes, handbags, etc, with casual compliments on the fine leather or matching colors..very low key. He looked them in the eye, listened to them, gave appropriate responses, and when the women indicated interest, which was almost immediately, he knew how to close the deal (as much as a demisexual can, which is, without lust) to get them going with him for coffee or whatever he knew she liked to do. But even as a neutral androgyne, I've had to beat women off me with a stick..just had to do it with one of my daughter's friends two days ago, who messaged me on Facebook declaring her love. I pretended to miss the point and that it was about friendship, then moved on. I don't know..I think because even with her, I listened to her. If "real men" could do this I can't imagine them having trouble attracting mates. I mean, I'm a 65 year old woman and listening to them works, even when I'm not in the market.
I've been a band mom for 6 years and with 2 kids have gone to a LOT of concerts and I will never ...
birdingnut comments on May 31, 2018:
Band parents are probably mind numb from attending games and trying to keep up with their young. I'm sure they're zoned out, thinking of all the stuff they could be doing instead of enduring yet another school event.

Who can relate? Just me...
birdingnut comments on May 31, 2018:
Yup. Luckily I got most it just by living in Songkhla, Thailand. I have mountains only a few blocks from my east facing balcony, and the Gulf of Thailand behind them, six minutes away by motorbike. I live on the edge of a swamp, out in the country, but a block from the main street/highway through the Songkhla peninsula, three blocks from the big Tesco-Lotus mall and about 15 minutes from downtown Songkhla, and 20 minutes from Hat Yai, the biggest city in the south of Thailand.
What is the quickest easiest meal that you make yourself and love?
birdingnut comments on May 31, 2018:
Bowl of raw cashew nuts and dried dates.
This is agnostic.
birdingnut comments on May 31, 2018:
My thoughts exactly. Enough already. But then, new members join every day and many of them want to talk about it..maybe freely for the first time.
