Adjuncts are paid less per hour than fast food workers, and most have to have side jobs and live with parents to survive. They get zero respect, are expected to give high grades to everyone, and it's a total scam. Find another job, with less stress and more respect, like a garbage collector. By the way, I don't even believe in grades..it's all nonsense. Blame it on the moon, no? [earthsky.org]
birdingnut comments on May 1, 2018:
When I lived on my Kentucky farm in the US, I used to camp in a screen tent out by the horse pasture every night year around so I could keep an eye on meteor showers and keep track of night birds and animals. During full moon, it was sometimes hard to sleep because of the bright light. I even slept outdoors in a hammock when I moved to Thailand in 2010 until I moved to this last apartment in Songkhla, where my hammock stand wouldn't fit on my balcony. The trouble with sleeping in a hammock is that you can't stay awake for more than 15 seconds, so it was mostly sky watching time wasted.
Of course I do not believe in god (s).

Anybody know anything about Atrial Fibrillation?
birdingnut comments on Apr 30, 2018:
Use google to find out medical terms. As for trusting the US medical society you are obviously naive. Always find out as much as you can about your heath conditions and natural cures and treatments before turning yourself over to people who get kick-backs from the synthetic, toxic drug pharmacy industry for keeping people patients for life. A new study by patient-safety researchers published in the BMJ on Tuesday, shows that “medical errors” in hospitals and other health-care facilities are incredibly common and may now be the third-leading cause of death in the United States — claiming 251,000 lives every year, more than respiratory disease, accidents, stroke and Alzheimer’s. A former 'MythBusters' extra thanks Adam Savage for crushing a harmful myth about gender.
birdingnut comments on Apr 29, 2018:
I need to save this link for this agnostic forum. I can almost count on being trolled any time I post something about gender issues, the same as when I mention anything about reincarnation, UFOs or teleportation. I've blocked so many trolls by now that there are now fewer of them to attack me, and I usually add a threat to block trolls each time I mention gender. It shocks me when even women here leap in to attack me, declaring that THEY are women, so what I'm saying is a lie because they "know" they aren't that way, so nobody can be. They behave exactly like the alt-right I used to fight on Facebook...everything they don't personally experience is "fake news!"

What's your favorite spicy food?
birdingnut comments on Apr 29, 2018:
Thai and Mexican food. I lived in Mexico one semester plus my mom cooked Mexican food for my dad, who grew up in west TX, and of course I eat Thai food here in Thailand. I can't eat the actual spicy Thai food, but a toned down version, that's still hot, but doesn't make me choke.

Trying to start over.
birdingnut comments on Apr 29, 2018:
The book The Rules has great advice that I've found to work perfectly. To prevent men just using you for sex, only accept dates for three days ahead, forcing them to plan ahead and stop taking you for granted. If they ask you to meet them that afternoon to "hang out," just say you would love to, but already have plans. This implies you have a busy dating life, not some loser hoping for crumbs, and makes you seem more valuable than a "quickie" pal. When men do ask you on an actual date three days ahead, then accept, but take your own car and meet in a public place. End the date first, and go home alone. Don't have sex until you're exclusive. That forces the horn dogs to either move on to an easier lay, or to start seeing you as an actual person, missing you, and working to get your attention. But if you are dating a woman, she is more likely to care about your actual personality and hobbies. When I'm in male mode, and have a crush on a woman I would walk on water to be with her, so I know cis men can do it, if properly motivated.

birdingnut comments on Apr 29, 2018:
Well, at least you have one friend living near you! It must be challenging to live in such a conservative state, but El Paso seems to have a thriving LGBTQ community. Several of my dad's relatives live there, and one elderly lady relative in her 80s is married to a young gay man. They seem to make it work well, in fact, we kids were jealous. She had a young, hot, green-eyed guy who remodeled and interior decorated her entire house, so it now looks like it belongs in a magazine, is a top chef, a tech nerd who does all her media stuff, and an art photographer who gives her amazing wall art, including many photos of her. They travel together and do stuff, but she also lets him keep young male friends in the guest bedroom at times. My parents, being liberal United Methodists, made no comment and accepted them like they do LGBTQ relatives and anyone else.

Does anyone else hang clothes on a line to dry?
birdingnut comments on Apr 29, 2018:
Here in Thailand, I throw my clothes in a big plastic basin in the shower area, fill the basin with water, add a bit of laundry soap, stir with my foot, let it all soak for 20 minutes, then walk on it again, dump out the water and rinse. I then throw the clothes over a rack to drip dry in the big shower area. After about two hours I put the clothes on hangers, inside out, and hang them on the balcony to dry on a horizontal PCV pole suspended near the balcony wall. On a sunny day, the clothes will be dry by late afternoon, but during rainy season I bring them indoors to finish drying overnight, since I use a ceiling fan.

OK, so here's another joke: A man suspected his son was skipping school to smoke weed, so he put a lie detector on the dinner table and asked his son if he'd been at school that day. His son claimed that he had, and the lie detector machine beeped. So the man asked again and his son admitted he'd been smoking weed behind the mall all afternoon. The man was indignant and confronted his son; "Why did you do that? I have never done such a thing!" and the machine beeped again. His wife laughed, and told the son, "He's your father, all right!" and the machine beeped again.
DMT & alien connection?
birdingnut comments on Apr 29, 2018:
People who dropped acid during the 1970s said they saw god, and other beings, but I suspect our soul energies are released by the dmt to communicate freely with the energy of other souls during that time. Since we are all made of energy, which can't be created or destroyed, so have always existed and will always exist in some energy form, and there's the multiverse, no reason we aren't contacting aliens or beings from other dimensions.

Are there any spiritual atheists out there?
birdingnut comments on Apr 29, 2018:
Yes, I am. I was also born psychic, as was my mom and sister, and we saw more UFOs than I can count, while I was growing up in Haiti, almost always with multiple witnesses, including my husband, when one followed us for 300 miles in 1973. In Haiti, we MKs, missionary kids, didn't have have phones, so we coordinated our beach plans with ESP, and my mom used esp to wake us up in the morning. We'd hear her speaking in our heads,"GET UP" and nearly bang our heads on the bunks above us. I also always ride my horses without bridle or saddle, using my mind to instruct them, so we ride as one. Avatar captured that idea pretty well...it's actually true. My horses did whatever I thought, as I thought it. I have always taken such things for granted and am amused by the way Americans treat anything like that as "crazy," so I just block people on this website who troll me.
Is anyone actually on here for dating?
birdingnut comments on Apr 29, 2018:
Hi! It would help people get to know you and earn you points if you write your profile and answer the profile questions. You can then comment on posts and do your own posts, to gain more points. But when you reach level two, you can send private messages. If your profile spells out your dating preferences it might cut down on gay guys hitting on you, but I suspect they are like most cis hetero guys..mostly reacting to your photo, without reading anything. You're pretty, so many could assume you're gay.

birdingnut comments on Apr 29, 2018:
According to the Sumerian texts, the gods were aliens who genetically engineered humans from mixing their DNA with that of human apes, to make slaves to work in the gold mines on earth. The Sumerian leader, "Anu" seems to be what the Hebrew god was modeled on, when the Bible was written 2000 years afterward. Like the Hebrew god, Anu demanded blood sacrifices, because Sumerians drink blood. They said their advanced technology, flying craft, and the ability to fry people with rays made them "gods" over the humans, and when they left earth for good, they left human ruler-gods with the highest percentage of Sumerian DNA, to rule over the human city/states.

birdingnut comments on Apr 28, 2018:
When I was growing up in Haiti, I wanted a doctor husband who was a childhood friend, 2.5 kids, a white farmhouse with rose bushes and a garden, several horses, being a university literature prof, then a teacher in a tropical country, similar to Haiti. Got all of them. Along the way, I changed my mind, though, and ditched the doctor. He's still a friend, though. I also found out I don't do well trying to play the part of a wife. Or being a typical woman at all. In fact, now I don't identify with either gender, and consider myself nonbinary, I don't even know my sexual orientation, being demisexual (only attracted to one person at a time, and only after a protracted relationship of over a year). I think all genders are beautiful..I just don't feel lust. But I can fall in love with anything, being "panromantic." Yeah, until 2014, I didn't even know what a partial transmale, panromantic, demisexual, androgyne, or nonbinary person was, but now I know "I are one." ;)

Anybody ever feel like an honest human in a crooked world?
birdingnut comments on Apr 28, 2018:
Sort of and sort of not. Years ago, I gave up being relentlessly honest and started lying with the rest of humankind, to avoid hassles. But recently I returned to being honest, seemingly WANTING to challenge conventional ideas, start some trouble. I suppose that was when I came out as partial transmale and agnostic. I began just telling people whenever it came up, without bothering to hide it. But also refusing to argue about it.

It's like they are trying to get sunburns and skin cancer, not to mention horrifying the conservative locals, and often resembling great white beached whales.

You'll have better luck going after cis hetero women, as most of the women on this forum are androgyne (even if they're not aware of it) , thanks to their above average IQs, since most creative, high IQ people are mixed gender (androgyne). I'm a partial transmale who lives as an androgyne woman, and I have enough male traits to feel insulted and outraged when a man tries to protect or help me, but my female side LOVES and prefers men who do this. When I'm in male mode, I can't help myself trying to help women..walking on the outside of the sidewalk, opening doors, paying for stuff, which women quickly sense and start taking advantage of. For this reason, I hide my male side when around women and stick to my female mode side to avoid being manipulated.
Out the door in a jiffy to watch the Pacers and celebrate that the weekend is upon us the way it was...

I accidentally found out that cannabis oil cures diabetes, somehow. I'm taking it to treat cancer (and it's working!) but noticed that now I can eat fruit, rice, and things I've not been able to touch for years because of a scary diabetic reaction.
Looney Tunes?
birdingnut comments on Apr 27, 2018:
I still love Looney Tunes. How could you outgrow that? Besides, if you are watching alone, who cares? Even with a significant other, I still wouldn't care, but then I tend to take the female attitude that I do what I want, and the other person is the one to adjust. If they don't like it, then "Bye." I might be a partial transmale, but there's still 40% female traits there, thankfully. My male side is too obedient to females.
If I was the parent of a child with Autism, I would be outraged.

(sigh) At the risk of bringing down a pack of raving troll nut jobs, which I will immediately BLOCK, I will again say that in the 1990s, before people were aware of the power of google search and put up defensive measures, I did research on autism when I was teaching at Morehead university, and was able to access medical journals and research papers from decades ago. The doctors of those early days KNEW that vaccinations caused autism, and most of the papers discussed ways to conceal it from the public, to avoid being sued and/or imprisoned for pushing increasing numbers of vaccinations, to increase profits. They also said that before vaccinations, autism was unknown in this country, and that with each added vaccination, the percentage of autistic kids jumped upward.

The thing that I am finding particularly challenging about my divorce is the finality of it.

Now would be a great time to downsize and do one of those "Joy of tidying up" things where you get rid of duplicate stuff, and only keep things from each pile that give a feeling a joy when you pick them up. It's surprising what you don't miss when you unclutter your life. When I moved to Thailand, I left most of my stuff to be donated.

I dunno; he hasn't bothered me, so I don't bother him.
It's after midnight here, and so it is officially my birthday.

Good for you. Eventually, most of us have this epiphany and learn to put up firm boundaries.
What is your silliest or quirkiest romantic first date?
birdingnut comments on Apr 27, 2018:
Sounds wonderful! My most quirky first date was climbing Lockegee Rock near Cave Run Lake, Rowan CO, KY, and doing some birding with a guy. I wasn't interested in him as much as the wild turkeys and migrating warblers, but it was nice that he was willing to join me. It takes me over a year to be sexually attracted to anyone so he was just an annoying accessory in my eyes, who didn't know anything about birds, but over a year later, things worked out.
Do you feel any kind of self-restriction in this site?

I realize this is a dating website and I'm not really in a position to date, so just been using it to amuse myself.
Can you call your life a succesful life till now?
birdingnut comments on Apr 27, 2018:
My notion of success means staying alive and happy, so yup. So far, at least.
Do you feel any kind of self-restriction in this site?
birdingnut comments on Apr 27, 2018:
Yes. But I say it anyway, and block the trolls. I've done this so much, fewer of them are showing up when I say something controversial, like mentioning gender issues and teleportation, etc.

Did you ever meet someone and knew they were the one for you?
birdingnut comments on Apr 27, 2018:
I was asked out by a man I met at ballroom dance, and when I danced with him on our date, he was so good, I fell in love with him. My knees went weak and my head spun, etc. We were together for a while, and had a wonderful time, but I eventually broke up with him when he said he'd not travel out of the country until his middle school age son was out of college.
How long did it take you to achieve your current level?

What is your favorite TV-Series ?
birdingnut comments on Apr 27, 2018:
It changes after I've watched the series a few times and moved on. Right now it's Atypical, Grace and Frankie, and the Blacklist.
