I struggle to find my place on earth, my purpose for being.
birdingnut comments on Mar 14, 2018:
There's no "higher purpose." Do you love your children because they might have a "higher purpose" or do you just love them for who they are? We are here to enjoy our lives. Or not. It's mostly up to us.

Wow. Good self control. I would have retorted that I wanted my shopping cart back and that she could get one from a "Christian." But probably not. I'm so transmale I'm hard wired to tolerate stuff from women without complaint.

What was the most expensive clothing item you owned and how much did it cost?
birdingnut comments on Mar 13, 2018:
I suppose it would be my ballroom dance shoes, at $120. I either bought clothes second hand or designed and sewed them myself. My husband, a dapper dresser and airline pilot used to give me money to buy special ultra-light, non-wrinkle travel clothing for our frequent trips, but most items were under $100.
Is there such a thing as too much kindness?
birdingnut comments on Mar 13, 2018:
Yes. Like releasing the black cab raper in London, so he could rape again. Yes when enabling dangerous behavior in someone.
Ladies! Haaaaaaaaaalp! I have a date! I don't know what to wear.
birdingnut comments on Mar 13, 2018:
If it's an evening meal, just wear something nice enough to go to work, or dressy casual. I don't know your usual preferences. If you like to wear dresses, do that. I sure don't. Probably jeans and T-shirts would be under dressing. You'll earn points and help people get to know you if you finish your profile and answer all the profile questions.
What makes a person "intelligent?"
birdingnut comments on Mar 13, 2018:
Metacognition, curiosity. Other strong indicators..they've kept a journal from childhood, tend to be slightly OCD, often on the autistic spectrum, unconcerned with the opinions of others as they pursue their obsessive interests, usually cynical, skeptical, often atheist, often strong readers from an early age, think out of the box, usually humorous.
Dating Trans
birdingnut comments on Mar 13, 2018:
As a panromantic I'm attracted to all genders and gender variations, but not sexually to any, since I'm a demisexual (only sexually attracted to someone after a courtship of over a year, and then only to that one person). I'm also a partial transmale, and I'm still attracted to my ex, who is now transtioning to nonbinary female. He/she asked again last night for us to get back together and since I have to move back to the US soon, I need a roommate with whom to share expenses.
I apparently am not able to do polls yet.
birdingnut comments on Mar 13, 2018:
I'm still registered Rebublican, since I didn't "wake up" until after moving to Thailand in 2010. But I now see myself as a Democratic Socialist, and wanted Bernie to win last election.

My brother and his wife live in Bethel, Alaska. If you miss the social connection, you can check online or the library bulletin board to see when local groups meet that share your interests. Join a dance class, a hiking or bird watching group, a kayacking group, book club, etc. If you finish writing your profile and answering the profile questions, people here can get to know you better, and you'll earn points.

birdingnut comments on Mar 12, 2018:
LOL! If I thought being agnostic, or coming out to my family as partially transmale would test the liberal ideas of my family, I can't even imagine showing up at a family event with a (dangerous) ex who is now dressing as female. Yet, he already knows how to dance and does all the things I do. But most tempting of all to take him back..the two hour footrubs!
I love reading! Anyone else? If so who are your favorite authors and what genre do you prefer?
birdingnut comments on Mar 12, 2018:

This is a partial list of my favorites 1.Misha Burnett "Catskinner" novel series (fantasy, sci-fi, horror) 2.Adolfo Kaminsky: A Forger's Life, by Sarah Kaminsky. Why would snow make you feel "atrabilious?" Whenever I saw snow in Morehead, KY, I got excited..time to head for the nearest slope for a sled run, or go skijoring with the horses. After the snow stopped, the next day I'd go out to snoop on all the wild animal goings on..where the red fox pair caught a rabbit, where the female coyote passed, etc. If the cold snap extended to WV, I'd head for the ski slopes there (Kentucky's ski slopes were awful). Pic: my kids skijoring with my son's horse, Black Jack, when my daughter was eight, and my son eleven, on our Morehead farm.

What is the sweetest thing you can say to a woman?
birdingnut comments on Mar 12, 2018:
Say something sincere that is real, not based on sex appeal or appearance..notice things about her, compliment her outfit, or something she did herself, etc. For example; I loved that piece you wrote for the country news section. It had some great ideas." Or compliment her appearance without sexualizing it, such as, "That color brings out the blue in your eyes."

Evil spellcheck
birdingnut comments on Mar 12, 2018:
This why I love the Thai language. If you can read it, you can pronounce it correctly. If you can say it, you can spell it correctly, even get the correct tonal pitch. Other Thai language benefits: no punctuation, no capitalization, no spaces between words, no verb tenses, letters aren't alignment dependent so can be read upside down, an entire word can take up one space because letters can encircle each other. Imagine the frustration of Thai school children trying to read English!

What is your opinion of Mr. Rogers and the fact that he was a Presbyterian minister?
birdingnut comments on Mar 10, 2018:
I think he made a good choice to abandon the church to help children. Besides, Presbyterians are mostly liberals, and not very religious. There's a joke where a Baptist preacher was annoyed to keep passing his hillbilly neighbor napping on the porch every Sunday morning. But whenever the preacher invited the neighbor to go to his church, the man said he didn't have any good clothes. So the preacher went to Good Will and bought him the best suit and accessories he could find, gave them to the neighbor and said he expected to see him in church that Sunday. But the man never showed up. When the preacher returned from church, the man was on the porch, dressed in his old clothes. "Why didn't I see you at church?" the preacher demanded. The man shrugged. "After I put on the suit, I looked so prosperous, I went to the Presbyterian church instead!"
Which 10 people would you invite to your ideal dinner party?
birdingnut comments on Mar 10, 2018:
I don't do dinner parties, and hate being invited to them as well. As for famous people, I'd rather remember them as they were portrayed in history, since few were pleasant to meet in real life.

Why is depression so complicated?
birdingnut comments on Mar 10, 2018:
People say CBD oil raises the mood, and is legal most places. Also, taking a long walk outside at dawn resets your thyroid for more energy and better mood. Eating fish daily, putting a few drops of food grade iodine in water, taking inexpensive herbs/vitamins from WalMart, such as St. John's Wort, 5-htp, magnesium, B vitamins. Interacting with a loving pet, joining groups for your interests, such as hiking, or reading groups.
It has been a very gloomy birthday.
birdingnut comments on Mar 10, 2018:
Hmm...sounds like you're thinking too much. When that happens, I head outdoors for a hike, turn on music, watch a funny Netflix show, or take herbs that raise the mood. Also, since you're male, it's your role to make the first move..ask women to get a cup of coffee, etc. I read that CBD oil not only can cure seizures, and other health issues, but it also elevates the mood and is legal most places in the US. By the way, on my own birthday, I buy myself something expensive I wouldn't usually buy, and treat myself to a special birding trip. For instance, one year I bought myself a sewing machine, another year, a Canon camera upgrade, etc. Since I love to design and sew clothes and bird photography is my main hobby, both gifts contributed to my happiness.
Why is it so difficult to connect?
birdingnut comments on Mar 10, 2018:
Yes..being confident, friendly and outgoing signals people your social status and mental health. Also, if you are wanting to meet women for dating, boldness can indicate higher levels of testosterone. If you act weak and passive, you might get assertive, male-trait women coming after you, though.
Would you get plastic surgery ? What do you think of people who get plastic surgery ?
birdingnut comments on Mar 10, 2018:

Who's got a religious name?
birdingnut comments on Mar 10, 2018:
Ha, ha! But I suppose most western names come from some religion or the other. Even the seemingly innocuous name "Kevin" comes from a 6th century Irish hermit named St. Kevin, who founded a monastary. Perhaps parents believe the name will give their children the same powers as the person with the original name. I was still a believer when I made up the name for my daughter, Jerielle. The first half of her name is from Hebrew, and the second is from French. The first part of her name, in English, means "strong; open-minded, and is a blend of Jerold and Darell. But the Hebrew meaning is "vision of god." The "elle" only makes the name feminine.

Do you feel as lonely as I do?
birdingnut comments on Mar 10, 2018:
I've always been surrounded by loving family, pets, friends, had a busy, happy life, but at the pit of my being I've always felt alone. Even when I was married, and raising kids, attending church and going along with conventional beliefs. In my case, finding out I'm partially transmale in 2014 was the first step to stopping the loneliness. When I acknowledged my male side, named him, and allowed myself to be partly male, I started feeling better. But later I discovered that taking the Thai herb derris scandens blended my two gender modes, got rid of dysphoria, and most of the loneliness, because I accepted both sides of myself.
What do you do when your child does something that makes you resentful?
birdingnut comments on Mar 10, 2018:
My son did the same to me, lying in court, along with his dad, to get me in trouble after asking me to help him. He even threatened to shoot me while I slept, something his father had done. I simply stopped trying to talk to him or help him, since he soon turned 18 anyways, moved to LA, and never contacted me, told everyone not to give me his address or phone number. But to get rid of resentment, I suppose you and I both could use the NLP technique of imagining the bad incidents the way they should have happened, instead of how it did happen, since it replaces the original emotion of the incident with the ones associated with the new memory. I could imagine my son being kind, truthful, and loving, thus getting the emotions of pride and love that would bring.

Polluting gasoline cars came about only because of Henry Ford stealing the assembly line concept from one of his workers, and the Stanley brothers being such bad businessmen with their clean, highly powered steam cars. There was the TATA air car, and a water car, Stan Meyer's dune buggy, got 100 miles per gallon and might have become more commonplace had Meyer not suddenly died, from what most said was probably poison, after he refused to sell his patents or end his research. His partners went into hiding, for safety. The General Motors EV1 was the world's first mass-produced electric car, but GM killed the EV1 under pressure from oil companies, then destroyed every last EV1, ensuring the technology would die out. birdingnut comments on Mar 9, 2018:
More than likely I'll be reincarnated, since I remembered my past life when I was born, as well as my sister, and later I remembered far more past lives. Research with children 2-6 yrs old who remembered past lives showed accuracy in details they couldn't have known. If you're not married, would you marry again?
birdingnut comments on Mar 9, 2018:
I married for convenience and advantages; to get income support, cheaper combined insurance, protection, legal support, ability to rent hotel rooms and visit relatives without having to explain anything. But mostly because I tend to hang with men as pals, and have trouble hurting their feelings. Unfortunately, I'm also claustrophobic, so even a hint of marriage can make me feel panicked.

I'd rope half grown wild European boars from Lightning, jump, drive, without using lines. In the US, I had an Arabian gelding, then a series of gaited horses; racking and Walking Horses. But I'm against what most US horse owners do; keeping horses in stalls, feeding processed food, using metal shoes, riding in endless arena circles, using saddles and strong bits, etc., although I used saddles with sharp-withered TN Walking Horses, as in the pic.

I began questioning my parents' veracity before I could talk, and as I grew older, whenever I challenged Bible teaching contradictions my dad would start lecturing me and my mom would seem concerned, so I desisted. After my church turned on my children and me when my ex left us, I stopped attending. I didn't dump all Christian beliefs until the 2016 election, when I no longer wanted anything to do with Christianity.

What have you learned about yourself recently?
birdingnut comments on Mar 9, 2018:
My female (gender mode) side seems stronger, probably because I recently doubled the amount of derris scandens herb I take. Evidence is that yesterday I suddenly bought a pair of loose Thai pants at the market, with bands of rainbow colors. Usually, I just wear black stretch pants I designed/made.
I wonder why so many people like/believe in Angels?
birdingnut comments on Mar 9, 2018:
I've had many encounters with, and been saved by "angels," but for all I know, they appeared because of my previous beliefs. For example, after a horrific car crash, where my dad was trapped in a burning car, my mom prayed aloud for god to help us, and suddenly two tall young men appeared, opened the car door, and removed my dad. When my mom turned to thank them, they had vanished, and nobody else had seen them. The front car seat was crumpled against the dashboard in such a way that my dad's removal was physically impossible. Since all matter is a form of energy, and energy can neither be created nor destroyed, energy beings can exist, and quantum physics already tells us different dimensions exist. Furthermore, we contribute to creating our own reality. “I regard consciousness as fundamental and matter as derivative from consciousness." – Max Planck, theoretical physicist who originated quantum theory, 1918 Nobel Prize in Physics
Are you, a family member or friend, blind, dyxlexic or have some other "print disability?
birdingnut comments on Mar 9, 2018:
Cool. I have "dyslexia," but have no problem reading, since I speed read. In my case, I count dyslexia as difficulty in communicating properly between the two hemispheres of my brain. For instance, I unknowingly reverse numbers, reverse word or letter sequences, or misremember information, have trouble remembering names, faces, or even recognizing items I'm hunting for in my purse. Taking derris scandens seems to correct this problem, however.

Germans mostly seem to be brusque, straight-shooters who'll tell you just what they think, Taiwanese seem to be unfailingly dutiful, insightful, Koreans seem to be unusually talented/intelligent, etc. Of course there's truth to many stereotypes..after several encounters with rude Canadians abroad, I thought all of them were that way, but I've since met a number of exceptions. And of course, there are knowleable, polite Americans who travel abroad-it's just that I've seldom if ever, met any.
What music speaks to your soul (brain, heart, loins)?
birdingnut comments on Mar 9, 2018:
I like many music genres; bluegrass, rock, pop, jazz, classic, K-pop, Thai pop, Thai traditional, Latin pop, Caribbean, Reggae, rap, African, R&B, Cuban salsa, etc. Luckily, I can listen to it all on accuradio.com, which streams music in multiple genres, and you can even make your custom radio channels. https://www.accuradio.com/

A quick grammar question

The plural is the same as the singular; "There go three Bigfoot!"
Getting pecocks in the spring.

I've read that male peacocks kill roosters and attack nesting hens. Also, they are very loud, enough to bother people at a farm next door, and they fly like wild turkeys, so can get onto other people's properties and make a mess. The farm on the next mountain from us had peacocks and not only were they were deafeningy loud, they'd fly over to our farm and yelp from our barn roof.
Mountainbiking is my go to stress reliever and primary method of exercise.

Good for you! Sounds like an ebike would be perfect for mountain biking.
How do u politely tell a religious person they have their head wrapped around a fairy tale?
birdingnut comments on Mar 8, 2018:
Do you have the same urge to denounce the beliefs of someone Hindu, Buddhist, or Muslim? If it's rude to attack people's beliefs for one religion, it's rude for the rest as well.
