I couldn't watch it for very long because of all the kooky religious and Satanic cult stuff. It seemed like the series was determined to be a sort of Dark Shadows, so I gave up, despite my crush on David Duchovny after seeing his comic genius in the hilarious sci-fi movie Evolution.

birdingnut comments on Oct 1, 2018:
I sort of am, being a nonbinary androgynous female, and partial transmale, but I am demisexual (no sexual attraction to either gender until well after a year of hanging out together, and then only for that one person) and act/present as an androgynous woman so don't attract attention or suffer persecution. I take a Thai herb, derris scandens, that suppresses gender dysphoria, which is why I can live contentedly as an androgynous woman.

Hi, Trent, and welcome to the website! By the way, this website has a bit of a learning curve, so here's some info, in case you need it. For members who are open to dating, certain thumbnails and profiles have a heart symbol on them with a percentage. This identifies which members are open to dating, and the percent shows approximately how compatible others are with them. You gain website points by answering all the profile questions and writing a bio, which also earns website points, and helps other members get to know you. Commenting on posts and writing your own posts earns more points. At level two you can private message people, and at level eight you get an agnostic T-shirt. If you want to date, the website uses profile algorithms to find member matches, so the more details one includes, the better the match. Many people prefer to see a written profile talking about interests, hobbies, and backgrounds that can be quickly perused to find others with similar interests.. In case you didn't know yet, to find members near you, click on the "Browse" button at the top of the page, then on "Members," and enter your preferred search parameters. Click on the "Discuss" button, then "Nearby" to find members near you also. Or click on the "About" button at the top left of the page to find links to FAQ or the website tutorial. Points are now being given to level 3+ members who chat. You can see chat rooms on the group main page.

Test showing sexual preferences
birdingnut comments on Sep 30, 2018:
In a 2013 survey where people were assured total anonymity, 84% of them admitted to at least a percentage of same-sex attraction. When they tested women with sensors that measured pupil dilation (indicating sexual attraction), all women showed sexual attraction to both genders. "As expected, heterosexual men showed strong pupillary responses to sexual videos of women, and little to men; heterosexual women, however, showed pupillary responses to both sexes. This result confirms previous research suggesting that women have a very different type of sexuality than men." Link: https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2012/08/120806084533.htm So apparently straight women are simply showing social conditioning in their sexual preferences.

Question about finding the right person.
birdingnut comments on Sep 30, 2018:
Studies show that when people make a list of what they want in a lifetime mate, it usually doesn't match the reality of who attracts them. People are usually drawn to the familiar, no matter how negative..if your parents were gaslighting emotional abusers, those are the types of lovers likely to attract you at a subconscious level. People aren't aware of this, of course, and keep blaming their abusive relationships on "bad luck" but then go right back into a similar relationship. To justify their behavior they go to great lengths to explain it away, and make excuses, but they don't really know why they do it. To access and reset unconscious relationship settings, people can do NLP hypnotherapy, take ayahuasca, magic mushrooms, or do meditation. BBC reported that both ayahuasca and magic mushrooms can reset the brain and cure depression, ptsd, etc., if used carefully.

Tell me what grammar mistakes get under your skin.
birdingnut comments on Sep 29, 2018:
Its and it's, their, they're, and there, alot, etc. Its not they're fault there so ignorant..your going to have trouble if you're not reading alot. On the other hand I'm going to plug the Thai language..if English were this easy, there'd be no reason to teach grammar; no capital letters, punctuation, verb tenses, spaces between words, or even arbitrary left to right writing. Most sentences involve few words. Instead of children in class saying "Don't block my view," they say, "Yah ban" (stop bulking). Instead of saying, "I don't want to do that!" they say "Mai ow." (no want). Few, if any, pronouns are used. Instead, people use words that reflect the person's age in relation to the speaker, like "pee" and "nong" (elder and younger) and people use self-identifying reflexive pronouns with each sentence, identifying which gender they are claiming at the moment. For example, "Jat bie, Kah" (I'm going, female reflexive pronoun). No need to even guess someone's gender, and it's a good thing. I often can't tell, and it doesn't matter.

birdingnut comments on Sep 29, 2018:
If your friend brings up religion, act bored, don't pay attention to her, and leave. If trapped, look distracted and bored. Say, "That's you, not me," then ignore her. Mumble "Um-hum..that's nice," to everything she says about religion, while glancing at your watch, then leave as soon as possible. Keep this up..only look at her, smile, or notice her when she is speaking of neutral subjects. I've found that this technique works very quickly to train relatives and friends to avoid religious subjects, since nobody likes being ignored. If her religion requires her to proselytize, hopefully, she'll stop coming around, and good riddance.

I've been living in Thailand since 2010, where Thai women seldom wear make up unless it's required at work, for a "sexy outfit" service or entertainment job. They also don't shave their legs because they don't seem to have body hair. I stopped wearing make up several years ago because I want to be able to rub my eyes whenever I wish, and I also don't shave because I have almost no body hair - perhaps because of certain Thai herbs I take.
I watched the hearings the other day in their entirety and I would like to make one observation.

That's great! Except that I'm a demisexual who gets disgusted by hetero sex images, talk, etc. Lesbian sex is "meh" - boring. Like watching people cut up vegetables for lunch. Gay men sex is "sweet." How romantic. Still no lust. I have to have associated with someone well over a year before I feel sexual attraction, and then it's only for that person. Everyone else's sexual activity and genitals are disgusting to me. But for that one person I have a libido so strong, I'm like 10 men. I like fantasy play, costumes, mild S & M, etc. which is too much for the typical cis hetero male, who seems to prefer quick rabbit sex..get it over quickly before she changes her mind.

This one is for the women: when considering dating options, how important is height to you?
birdingnut comments on Sep 29, 2018:
Yes, height matters. Most women don't want to date men shorter than they are. I sure don't. I prefer men about 5' 10" to 6' 1" but no taller..it gives me a neck cramp talking to them, and they don't fit in my furniture.

Funny!

I have an intuition that there's somehow a metaphysical power that brings order into the world.
birdingnut comments on Sep 29, 2018:
Well, we are our own gods, so I believe in myself. Physics indicates that we are participating in creating our own universes/reality. “Consciousness is fundamental, and matter is derived from consciousness." – Max Planck, theoretical physicist who originated quantum theory, 1918 Nobel Prize in Physics Quote: “A fundamental conclusion of the new physics also acknowledges that the observer creates the reality. As observers, we are personally involved with the creation of our own reality. Physicists are being forced to admit that the universe is a “mental” construction. Pioneering physicist Sir James Jeans wrote: “The stream of knowledge is heading toward a non-mechanical reality; the universe begins to look more like a great thought than like a great machine. Mind no longer appears to be an accidental intruder into the realm of matter, we ought rather hail it as the creator and governor of the realm of matter. Get over it, and accept the inarguable conclusion. The universe is immaterial-mental and spiritual.” – R.C. Henry, Professor of Physics and Astronomy at Johns Hopkins University , “The Mental Universe” ; Nature

I don't argue with wing nuts. I ignore them whenever they bring up religion, act bored, and walk away. I only pay attention to them if they are speaking on neutral subjects. If I'm trapped and can't leave, I say, "That's you, not me," then act bored and distracted, and keep mumbling "Um-hum..that's nice," while glancing at my watch. You can quickly train relatives to avoid talking about religion with this method, since nobody likes being ignored.

If you hear of a grave danger approaching your home, never call to warn anyone, don't even drive a car..just start running across town to warn them. Before following a criminal into an empty warehouse at midnight, never tell anyone where you are, and be sure to leave your cell phone in your car.

I attended Asbury College 1970-73 - a religious college attended by most of the MKs (missionary kids) from our OMS mission. Back then it was very strict, and from the first days, I began resenting them, and starting to rethink religion a bit. But my childhood friends were there, and since we all disagreed with their religious ideas, that helped ease the problem.

I was sexually assaulted by our family doctor, a relative, who was doing routine physical exams for our mission requirements when I was 15 years old. When I told my mom, she ignored me. I hope I can eat food like that by the time I get back to the US. As I take cannabis oil to treat intestinal cancer, severe food allergies I've had for decades have been gradually receding. It says online that cananbis cures food allergies, so I guess that's why. Right now, prehaps because of my compromised intestines, my body has been rejecting most things that are raw or "healthy" - only letting me eat a few things at certain times of day. Going against these "rules" has usually resulted in a sudden, steep turn for the worse in cancer symptoms. Right now, I can't eat raw fruit, drink coconut milk, or eat raw vegetables, except for few leaves of dark greens once a day. For instance, recently I started craving, and found I improved drastically when, I started eating a KFC ice cream cone and a square of bakery chocolate cake/brownie each day about 10 AM. Weird. But at least it's chocolate! And ice cream. I tried other bakery goods and other brands of ice cream a few times, or increasing the amount I ate, with disastrous results to my symptom improvement (sigh). But I keep steadily improving...

Good on Flake! The Senate will ask the White House to order the FBI to carry out a week-long background check on Brett Kavanaugh, before voting on whether or not to confirm him. Two Republican senators, including Jeff Flake, have said such a move is a condition of their agreeing to vote for him, forcing the hand of the majority leadership. Mark Judge, who refused to testify to the Senate committee, says he will cooperate with the investigation. Earlier, that committee voted 11 to 10 to advance the nomination after Flake, a Republican, asked for the FBI investigation. Flake’s proposal was informal because the judiciary committee doesn’t set the vote, senate majority leader Mitch McConnell is responsible for that. Donald Trump had been meeting with the president of Chile during the committee meeting but said shortly after the vote: “I just want it to work out well for the country.” The day started with a morning vote on whether to vote to advance the nomination in the afternoon. Nearly all the Democratic senators walked out in protest of that vote, but ultimately participated in the afternoon vote. https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/live/2018/sep/28/kavanaugh-senate-committee-vote-live
