Who needs a savior when we have science and Hitchens wisdom?
brentan comments on Aug 11, 2019:
The saviour was the person who offered eternal life to humanity, making life in this world meaningful. Now that most people suppose there is no existence after death, we have to find meaning enough in this life. Will people like Christopher Hitchens help people achieve this? I'm watching Jon Vervaeke's YT videos at the moment called Awakening from the Meaning Crisis: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=54l8_ewcOlY

I couldn't read it without disabling AdBlocker. I've always thought of it as either communist or Christian but maybe that's just being Eurocentric. Europeans seem to be comfortable with social democracy as a compromise between capitalism and socialism. It's not working so well now, what with mass immigration and the neoliberal market system. We've come a long way from the Keynesian model. They say it wouldn't work in today's economy but I don't know why.
