I think America is moving slowly in the right direction, in the sense that people at one time really did believe that America was in every way a force for good in the world. Now a lot of us are knowledgeable enough to read between the lines, watch for patterns and such. I don't think there ever was a time before when Americans were so 'woke' to what their government is doing. And yes, the hypocrisy with Israel is sickening.

Being that way myself, I prefer (but don't insist) to see the good things about autism and enjoy how TV has made successful shows about the talents of autistic people. Granted, the shows are OTT but they give the idea that different ways of looking at the world are valid and useful. But it a very wide spectrum and I guess nobody wanted to hear any negativity. It's a bad feature of support groups that they enforce positive comments only and refuse to listen to constructive criticism.

The problem with revenge is that it never evens the score.
brentan comments on May 1, 2019:
This is the idea behind the Orestes in ancient Greece. The myth was that the corpse emitted a miasma that could only be removed by justice, understood as revenge. The Furies symbolised that revenge. The court system was set up to end the constant tit-for-tat revenges. At the end of the story, the Furies were permanently placed under the judge's podium in the court to signify the old justice was still understood but superceded by the less subjective and less murderous civil justice system.

This is the second death." Revelation 21:8. Here's another list: Do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived! Fornicators, idolaters, adulterers, male prostitutes, sodomites, thieves, the greedy, drunkards, revilers, robbers—none of these will inherit the kingdom of God - 1 Corinthians 6:9,10. 'There is a crack in every thing That's how the light gets in'. I think he got that from Rumi or some other poet. He had the wit to realise how valuable that perception was. I thought he meant we see something important through a flaw in its make-up. Now I'm not sure. It might mean there is a very tiny conduit in the nature of every thing that if realised and used, opens a world of understanding. Here's a related idea from William Blake's The Marriage of Heaven and Hell: “If the doors of perception were cleansed every thing would appear to man as it is, Infinite. For man has closed himself up, till he sees all things thro' narrow chinks of his cavern.”

Full many a time our eyes together drew That reading, and drove the colour from our faces; But one point only was it that o'ercame us. When as we read of the much-longed-for smile Being by such a noble lover kissed, This one, who ne'er from me shall be divided, Kissed me upon the mouth all palpitating. Galeotto was the book and he who wrote it. That day no farther did we read therein." -Dante's Inferno I love that last verse. They horsed around.

I think that's why the stories like Saint George and the dragon or going into the underworld and coming back are the archetypes that we see today in Lord of the Rings and stories like that. Very badly. I have no natural tact at all and try to get by on simple truth as I know it and openness. It is just about always understood as weakness and I'm convinced now that it is my fault for expecting people to behave in a way not natural to most humans. I would change if I could because I don't have the impetus Christianity used to give me to persevere. Nowadays I keep the same M.O. because I simply don't know any other way. It's a world of complexity I don't want to enter.
