Is the "afterlife" possible without a god or gods?
brentan comments on Mar 19, 2019:
I used to think it wasn't possible. Now I'm not so sure and the more I read about universal consciousness and how the brain works, the more I think it is possible. One thing I definitely have no idea about is what form that afterlife might take, such as if we are returned to a oneness of consciousness (assuming we came from one) or carry on with our own personal one.

brentan comments on Mar 19, 2019:
It is striking and even though I don't think you can call black and white a true reflection of reality, it has some quality of its own that is very attractive. It's probably this: chiaroscuro the treatment of light and shade in drawing and painting. an effect of contrasted light and shadow.

brentan comments on Mar 17, 2019:
Some Christians have seriously lost their way. They don't understand their own scriptures anymore, such as 'my (Christ's) kingdom is no part of this world', 'be in the world but no part of it' and 'be in subjection to the secular authorities'. They have a gospel that frees them from political concerns and allows them to grow their own spirituality as they wait on their Messiah to return and bring in his new kingdom. I think this wish to do Christ's work for him would be called presumptuousness in the Bible.
