Don't worry, I'll sort that out Just shut up and listen.
The absolute best part of this were the comment from people telling their substitute words.

I've always thought of it as Murphy's Law. Recently, I saw it referred to as Godelian, after Kurt Godel.

I want your opinions. Do you guys think what Israel is doing to Palestine is right?
brentan comments on Feb 20, 2019:
I don't. I live in a country where part of it was planted with foreigners and the natives expelled to make room for them. The Jews should understand this too because the northern part of their country was deported and the land planted by foreigners too. But a sense of your own self-righteousness seems to trump justice very time.
Let's do the time warp again....

Does anyone find that healthy sexual expression and openness is currently taking a unfortunate hit ...
brentan comments on Feb 20, 2019:
If you're right, I better be more careful. I've never understood my sexuality better than I do these days and it's more complicated than I ever suspected. I tend to talk about it quite freely because of all the advice they gave about how it's good for me and good for others who might think they're the only ones dealing with these issues. But you may well be right and I'm damned if I understand why we might be going backwards instead of forwards. It's as if society is going forward legally and backwards on the street.
I've had no reason to block anyone till today. how is it done?
brentan comments on Feb 20, 2019:
Can't you just ignore them? And look at what they post occasionally. You might get a nice surprise!
Phoebe Snow - Touch Your Soul [youtu.be]
brentan comments on Feb 20, 2019:
That's a sad one, nicely sung. Don't squander your body, let someone touch your soul. Women seem to intuit the way physical connection is the precursor to soul connection.
My country has awesome meme's boom!??
brentan comments on Feb 20, 2019:

Female digital assistants like Alexa and Siri remain popular in Silicon Valley.
brentan comments on Feb 20, 2019:
I'm using Alexa for a while and never thought of it like that. I have a choice of a few names so I use the name Echo for the second one, for no particular reason. But I believe the article's premise because I keep getting the feeling that every time law progresses social justice, the behaviour it's trying to improve gets channeled in a different way, sometimes underground.

I know this is well known and you have heard it before, but the setting is beautiful.
brentan comments on Feb 20, 2019:
I don't know much about this sort of music but the voices are beautiful and carry really well in that church. We probably should give the church more credit for the beauty it inspired.

Shockingly, being gay is a criminal act in 74 countries In a dozen countries, the punishment is ...
brentan comments on Feb 20, 2019:
My guess is that the underlying reason for the prohibition in Abrahamic religions was cleanliness. There wasn't much back then that wouldn't make a person ritually unclean. All body functions seemed to require ritual cleansing, sometimes sacrifice. But that wouldn't explain the decision to take the lives of homosexual people. I think there's another layer to this that is less obvious and that is the preoccupation back then that there was a relationship between objects that was spiritual in nature as well as physical. It showed itself in rules such as not mixing certain fabrics. Then there's the command not to allow a kid goat to be boiled in its mother's milk because milk was for nurturing, not killing. We don't relate to these ideas anymore as general concepts but nonetheless I still think the revulsion about male homosexual sex because it involves poop is always the elephant in the room when homosexuality is discussed. Curiously, nothing is said in the Hebrew scriptures about lesbian sex and that might be because the ritual uncleanness wasn't so obvious.
Believers need to take note.
brentan comments on Feb 20, 2019:
I can't believe how many years it took me to realise that history is proof that there is nobody heavenly interfering with human affairs. I really hope we wise up in time but but things look very bad at the moment.

The Band The night they drove old Dixie down, Live ,[youtube.com]
brentan comments on Feb 20, 2019:
Great song from a great band. Who would thought a song sympathetic to the South would resonate with so many people. I guess it's because it's written from the perspective of a man ending up on the losing side 'while the bells are ringing' for his defeat. There's something essentially tragic in that situation that we can all feel.
Watching a talk show last night I learned something interesting.
brentan comments on Feb 20, 2019:
I really wish singers would stick to music. In their cases, I use the word music lightly. But even skilled musicians like James Taylor get involved in politics and I really wish they wouldn't.

brentan comments on Feb 19, 2019:
The JW explanation is that Satan called into question God's right to rule over his creation. We need to hang in there and keep worshipping him until he proves to the whole creation that he is right and we can't do without him. Our suffering, like Job's, is just collateral damage.

John Milton explains how angels bodily functions work. I'm sure it's the same for women. So down they sat, And to their viands fell, nor seemingly The Angel, nor in mist, the common gloss Of Theologians, but with keen dispatch Of real hunger, and concoctive heat To transubstantiate; what redounds, transpires Through Spirits with ease; nor wonder; if by fire Of sooty coal the Empiric Alchimist Can turn, or holds it possible to turn Metals of drossiest Ore to perfect gold As from the mine.
