Here's a strange thing. I got an apology from someone who had been harassing me in discussion, in the real world, not here on the forum. I thanked her for the apology and was pleased she made it. Later on, for some reason I don't quite understand, I felt weakened and was annoyed about it. I don't think I was happy to have my emotion awakened. Perhaps a hug might do the same to some of us. I just wanted to share my feelings. I'm not arguing against hugs in principle.

A look slightly askew of musical offerings at this time of year.
brentan comments on Dec 4, 2018:
The time has probably come for the independent writing of songs, or perhaps art of any kind, to be replaced by people trained in the proper expression of values. It should be noted too that most of the popular Christmas songs were written by Jewish men. That probably explains why so many of us experience a cognitive dissonance between the music and the lyrics of these songs. Perhaps a return to the old business model of Tin Pan Alley, where writing was housed in a cluster of buildings that regulated its own corporate culture, might be used where a government agency might be adjoined to the building and used as a control/feedback station before unhealthy ideas are released to the public.
