I am transitioning to complete separation from my Christian, almost cult-like past. While I was adopted and blood does not bind us, I did get pretty attached to the set of people who have hurt me the most because for the majority of my life I have yearned for not just a family but loving parents. I recently have accepted I will not get a chance to have parents or that kind of family but one day I can start a family of my own. Accepting this fact has helped me start my journey to freedom of the past that haunts me.
