Henry Ford was one of the paricipants in the 1933 plot. They wanted Smedley Butler to form an army of ex-service members, to overthrow FDR. Plot fizzled, because Butler spilled the beans to Congress about it. Strangely, however, none of the principles were ever prosecuted.

Canadian television news is always a little more accurate than American. I used to watch the CBC all the time, when I lived in Detroit. I remember during the Granada invasion, US networks reported 20 Americans killed. CBC reported 50. And the latter proved to be closer to the truth.
Remember the Kent State Massacre (May 4, 1970) and also Jackson State. See song below...
davknight comments on May 11, 2019:
I was 14 at the time. When I heard the news, I ran out into my high school's courtyard, and started to haul the flag down, so I could burn it. Then, all four of the school's principles ran out to stop me. Then, about a hundred students came out, surrounded the principles, and began chanting "Bring it Down!". More students came out. The cops were called, and 4 bus-loads of riot porkers showed up. They drove us back in the building with tear gas and clubs. And we were herded into a gymnasium, where we were on 'lock-down' the rest of the day.

How do you feel about cemeteries?
davknight comments on May 11, 2019:
In Mexico, when cemetaries get full, they dig up the old graves, crunch the remains with bulldozers, lay fresh dirt, and re-use them. When I was an anthropology student, we had about 30 sets of human skeletal remains, that came from a Mexican cemetery.
How do you feel about cemeteries?
davknight comments on May 11, 2019:
I had a girlfriend in high school, who wanted to go into a nearby cemetery at night, and play crazy eights, on top of a grave, by flashlight. (Not kidding!). So, we did. Then, she wanted to make wooky-nooky on the grave. So, we did that too.Gosh, how I miss those days!

I've thought about that. And if I had any 'great fortune' to bequeath, I would buy up homes in posh, upscale neighborhoods, and turn them into homeless shelters, so as to drive down the neighbors' property values! I would also set up a scholarship fund exclusively for CLEP earners. CLEP stands for College Level Education Program, and was established in 1964, to reward the self-educated. You test out of standard freshman and sophomore level courses, for which the Federal government awards you college credits. I managed to earn 27 credits of my 200 total, through CLEP, and DANTES ( similar to CLEP). And I was disappointed to learn that there are no scholarships for the self-educated. I was also disappointed that many department heads and faculty members look down on CLEPpers. (They just hate it when they get students that know as much, or more than they do!).

Statistics published recently suggest 42% of US households have at least one gun.
davknight comments on May 6, 2019:
Actually, it's 25% of American households with guns. The more regulated guns become, the more expensive they are, and thus less affordable for the majority of folks. Britain began regulating gun ownership in 1903. Now, gun ownership there has become a luxury of the rich. The US began regulating guns in 1934. And gun ownership amongst poor and working class people has shrunk, while the wealthy have been hoarding guns. Your figures are about forty years out of date. Keep in mind, as of about 1975, 50% of American homes had an average of three firearms each. Nowadays, its 25% with an average of six firearms. If, as Mao stated,"Political power grows out the barrel of a gun", then 'gun control' means stripping the majority of people their political power. Not a smart thing to do. Especially in the Age of Trumplerism!

The 'c-word'- oh, naughty, naughty! I have often wondered how the f-word became the most foul ...
davknight comments on Apr 29, 2019:
The 'F' word is Anglo-Saxon slang, for the act of nooky-wooky. Its literal meaning is "to bang two objects together".(They said "fuckin"). The 'P' word ("pysse" in Anglo-Saxon), meant the act of urination. While the 'S' word ("shytte"), meant the act of defecation. So why are they considered 'bad' words? Well, the Normans invaded England in 1066, and tried to Normanize the population. That included discouraging the use of the Anglo-Saxon language. They wanted the natives to say "coitus", instead of "fuckin". And "urinate", in lieu of "pysse". But they didn't have a lot of luck; and instead of Normanizing the English, they found themselves being Anglo-Saxonized instead.
