@PiperMckenna Keep in mind you can also repeat classes a 2nd or 3rd or however many times. I know that costs money of course, but it is always an option to deal with failure... I had a senior lady in my class with a disability (she had a trained support dog she walked with) and she had to take the intro level stats 2 times at least (she may had to have done it a 3rd cuz from what I overheard she was failing her 2nd go at it too, but maybe she pulled it together and aced the final exam). No need to drop your chosen field just because of ONE difficult mandatory course.

@PiperMckenna stats classes were a pain in the rear... luckily my intro stats prof was amazing and she got us to buy this book that dumbed down stats so any idiot could get it (NOT that you are an idiot, just that it made it easily digestible). If you want, I could give you the name and author of that book.... it may or may not be helpful if your degree is in hard sciences though. Making friends in your stats classes so you can copy their notes for when you have absences and forming or joining study groups is a good strategy too.

@PiperMckenna IT is your RIGHT as a student experiencing physical and mental health issues to get accommodations... you would either need to get an accommodation form from the accommodations office at your school or they would have you fill one out prior. Talk about that with the doctor too and have her include the mental health issues as well as the surgery issues. You can get temporary accommodations for the surgery and full-time or extended time accommodations for the mental health issues. Good to know and explore your options. :D
