"Cleveland Browns eyes Condoleezza Rice for head coach position, ESPN reports" She is daughter of...
genessa comments on Nov 18, 2018:
well she can't start any shooting wars there so it seems a safe place to put her. she's not stupid. she's not ethical or honest either, but we're talking about sports now, right? so she'll fit right in. g
What was the moment during your relationship that made you decide "I will marry you."?
genessa comments on Nov 18, 2018:
when i realized that not only did i want to spend my life with him but i also wanted a big party about it and gifties (cash and frequent flyer miles only, please) too. the piece of paper didn't mean that much to me. it does now because we're old and ill and need standing with regard to one another, legally. unfortunately the piece of paper would also cut our benefits and we can barely survive as it is. so we're still engaged, after 14 years. the knot is tied in our hearts and minds, but not on paper. g

this works for many subjects -- even math, i'll wager! in high school history we got wars and dates, dates and wars. i hated history. when i got out of school i discovered that i loved history. barbara tuchman, lewis mumford, a whole gang more, some of the lawyers who've written books (not the ghost-written ones lol), wow, why don't schools use their books? g

What are some of your favorite thanksgiving recipes?
genessa comments on Nov 18, 2018:
this is very simple but it works. i like sweet potatoes but i don't like them sweetened, as with marshmallows, for example. i prefer them mashed. i also never boil vegetables, not even potatoes. what i do is i just cut upa sweet potato and a regular potato (any kind i have on hand, more than one if they're small), unpeeled of course, into small pieces, and put them in a bowl with some butter (i sometimes use a butter spread instead) and some salt, and a drip of hazelnut syrup (maple works better but i have diabetes and my syrup is sugar-free) and microwave until soft enough to mash. then i form the mashed potato-sweet potato mixture into balls, spray with butter spray and bake at 400 or 450 until a little crusty on the outside. it's still nice and mushy on the inside! sometimes it spreads a bit and sometimes it retains its shape. i think the trick is not to have the mixture too wet. you can also fortify it with some bread crumbs. g
What did you do to earn money as a kid?
genessa comments on Nov 18, 2018:
i was a sheltered child; i wasn't even allowed to go out except to school or with my folks, or to babysit, which was therefore my only source of income. in the summers, in my late teens, my mom found me volunteer jobs. i worked at a camp for what were then called retarded kids for a week, and as a tour guide at the smithsonian for a summer. i had mother's helper jobs in the summer during college, and one stint at toys r us as a stock clerk and sometime cashier. it was there at toys r us that i had a religious run-in. the new manager, halfway through my stint, who gathered the clerks together to put up the new kids' books and took advantage of our all being together to ask us if we believed in god, which i think even in 1971 was not a question he was legally permitted to ask us on the job. i told him that i agreed with mark twain, who has said that he was glad there was no god, for if he existed, surely he was a malign thug. this did not go well with the manager, who persecuted me for the rest of my time there, and fired me a couple hours early on my last day (KNOWN to be my last day, too!) just to deprive me of those couple hours of pay ($1.60 an hour, that year's minimum wage). g

genessa comments on Nov 18, 2018:
i have been an atheist since i was 15. i was a virgin. but i never believed in original sin anyway, and the god in which i kind of loosely believed was not wrathful. i was raised a secular jew. we don't have any of that. all-seeing, that was the cool part as i was a lonely child. g

you're not the one creating the tension. there is no polite way out of this. here is the proper plan: 1. unfriend him on facebook. 2. tell him not to touch you on the shoulder or anywhere else, ever again. 3. tell him that you will not converse with him except as business requires. follow through and pretend he has not spoken if he makes things personal. 4. report him to highers ups if he doesn't back off. 5. report him to police if he stalks you. g

DC Considering Lowering The Voting Age To 16. Do you think this is a good idea?
genessa comments on Nov 17, 2018:
no. 18 was a good idea. if one can be drafted (as one could when the law was changed) and sent to war, one should be able to vote. this was true of 18-year-olds. it was not and is not true of 16-year-olds. at 16 one cannot drink, and cannot get married without permission, and is still considered a minor. there are reasons for that. g

Would you take a job working for a faith based company?
genessa comments on Nov 17, 2018:
i would work for a jewish organization. jews do not proselytize. it's against the rules! plus i am jewish (but an atheist) so i'd kind of know the ropes. i go to a jewish adult daycare (my guy has alzheimer's and he won't go without me. i'm the vj. i bring my computer. it's all good. and where else can you get matzaball soup for lunch?) i'd work there if i were able. i'm not. i am on social security disability; a cadi waiver from my county pays for my daycare (and my guy's elderly waiver from his insurance pays for his). i would love to work there, but i am not actually qualified, either (one needs all sorts of degrees and certificates). oh well. but a christian organization? oh no, i don't even think i could tolerate going to one of their adult daycares. (by the way, we have nonjews as clients where we go, too, and none of the staff there is jewish.) g

Is weight loss surgery a quick fix?
genessa comments on Nov 17, 2018:
first of all there are different kinds of weight loss surgery. one is to remove the actual fat (liposuction). if you do not change the habits that got you fat to begin with, it will come back. another is to make the stomach smaller. this makes your appetite less. if you're not fat from overeating but rather from lack of exercise, this won't help at all. fast weight loss is hard on the heart. i don't recommend it however it happens. your weight loss seems reasonable. you're doing a good job and protecting your heart. on the other hand, your muscles need to recover from exercise. unless you're swimming, i do not recommend more than four days a week. three is good. two is not enough lol. i highly recomend exercising in water. it really is better for you than anything else. i can't swim but i have a water routine. i have been ill and unable to go and do that. i have lost weight from being ill, but i do NOT recommend that! g
[washingtonpost.
genessa comments on Nov 17, 2018:
for those stymied by a pay wall (sorry, i didn't copy and paste the picture): (article starts here, the first line being the title) I’m fine with women in power, just not this one specific woman currently in power Ugh, it’s just… can we not pick her , you know? (Evelyn Hockstein for The Washington Post) By Alexandra Petri Columnist November 16 at 11:08 AM The first thing I need to make clear is that I love and support women. I am eager to see more women rise to positions of power. Hashtag pink wave! Hashtag pink hat! But I have to say, I’m a little frustrated that we keep putting forward this specific woman who really grinds my gears. Not because she’s a woman. I would know if that were why. It is not that. It’s just — ugh, her, you know? She just doesn’t excite me, and I feel that she is too compromised. That’s not a woman thing, though. It’s just a her thing. I would have that issue with anyone who had her baggage, that same difficult-to-pin-down sense that something about her was fundamentally tainted. But it is just this one woman in particular. And can I say how glad I am that we are at a point when we are able to judge women on their merits, as people, and find them inexplicably, inevitably wanting, as people? But definitely all women do not do this. There are plenty of women who do not make my teeth go on edge in the way this one lady does. My mother, for instance. My daughter, for another instance. And others I could name! Oprah, in her current capacity, though I hope she stays in her lane. In general, I am excited to vote for a woman, maybe even in 2020, though I do, I have to say, worry that maybe other Americans are not so ready, and we wouldn’t want to make that mistake in a year with such high stakes. Not me — I was born ready! I was given birth to by a woman. So it’s clear where I stand. That is why I am so frustrated with the specific women who keep being put forward. Like, Nancy Pelosi? I want women to lead everything! I want them to stare down charging bulls on Wall Street, and I can’t imagine anyone other than a lady being Wonder Woman, but — this is the House we’re talking about, and… ugh, Nancy Pelosi. You see what I’m saying here. I am flabbergasted and upset that each and every one of the women being talked about as front-runners are the specific women who have already alienated me. I am as frustrated by this terrible coincidence as you are, believe me! Believe, women! Opinion | 2018's 'Year of the Woman' looks a whole lot different than in 1992 The 116th Congress will have a younger, more diverse, more motivated group of congresswomen than ever before, says columnist Karen Tumulty. (Gillian Brockell/The Washington Post) What I want is not impossible!...
Social Media Pet Peeves
genessa comments on Nov 17, 2018:
your pet peeve is not mine at all. this is not an atheist platform for talking about atheism. that's boring. we're atheists. okay. so we have to talk about it all day? look at the categories. there is one for religion. the rest are for other stuff. posting other stuff is not an invasion. it's proper use of the site as it is presented and as it is apparently (and statedly) intended. i do have some pet peeves and they are numerous, but off the top of my head: 1. SHOUTING. 2. trolling. 3. scamming. 4. do u like txt spk? not me! 5. bad grammar and spelling. we should at least be able to spell "atheist." have you noticed how many people can't? (that peeve is specific to this site, too!) 6. men who whine about how they can't find a woman to fall at their feet when all their profile says is that they're nice, and the only posts they've made is said whining. (that peeve too is specific to this site.) 7. propaganda. 8. hate speech. that's enough for now. i wouldn't want to irritate anyone whose pet peeve was long comments! g

what a shock! by the way, there are no more conservatives, so i am glad you said "by the modern american definition." i won't call them that. i never liked conservatives but there are none left anyway. they have been replaced by regressives, and that's giving them the benefit of the doubt (which they don't deserve). g
This is stupid: UK bans ad about palm oil as "too political" [treehugger.com]
genessa comments on Nov 17, 2018:
the uk did not actually ban the ad, even though it has been stopped from being shown by a company following a uk law about political ads (the ad, which is from iceland, is from greenpeace and is DEFINITELY political). this article explains in as nonpartisan a manner as possible, using, well, you know, facts: https://www.wired.co.uk/article/iceland-advert-banned-christmas g

taken with or without permission (you didn't say no one knows it was taken, only that no one knows it went to me). if no one knows it was taken (and how could they not know?) then no, of course not, for reasons too obvious to state. if they gave the money willingly but didn't know it was going to me, as long as they were not lied to about where it was going, then sure, why not? g
‘Don’t you dare’ sounds grammatically correct while ‘do not you dare’ doesn’t.
genessa comments on Nov 17, 2018:
that is because they do not mean the same thing. "don't you dare" is an imperative. "do you not dare" is a question. they're barely related. g
[yahoo.com] Companies are Microchipping Their Employees?
genessa comments on Nov 17, 2018:
https://www.snopes.com/tag/microchips/ this snopes article doesn't mention the uk or this specific company that is, per the yahoo report, in talks about possibly microchipping its employees (no mention of anyone actually doing it), but this kind of thing apparently is being reported hither and yon and either isn't true or is at most voluntary. i would not panic yet. g
Humans are racist.
genessa comments on Nov 17, 2018:
humans are not racist. seeking patterns does not make us racist. yes being racist, as well as acting on it, makes you a bad person. everyone has prejudices. some are justified based on experience; many are not justified even if based on experience because of small samples. most prejudices have nothing to do with racism. many do. the ones that do are bad. g

Are you a brain game or puzzle aficionado?
genessa comments on Nov 17, 2018:
i love scrabble but can't get my guy to play with me. we play our own version of trivial pursuit. he doesn't want to play on the board -- all those rules to remember (yeah, right, but he has alzheimer's, so it really IS difficult for him). so we do it this way: he reads the questions to me from the cards, and i answer. he might try to guess too, or to remember. then he flips the card and tells me if i'm right, or what the right answer is if i'm wrong. sometimes, for a name or a title, i ask for initials. i never used to do that before, but when we did the silver screen edition i got into that habit. i have two rules of my own for this game, by the way: 1. if i don't know the answer to the sports question, i say "arnold palmer" and he gets only limited eyerolls. actually, once in a blue moon, that's the actual answer. once i even KNEW that when i said it! 2. when he gets tired and asks me how many more cards we need before he can quit, he checks the last question on the card (wild card, in our current edition) to see if it's a sports question, and if it is, he reads the card from bottom to top, so i have a CHANCE of ending with a correct answer! i don't do well with the sports questions, you i think by now you have surmised. on my phone, on the metro mobility bus on which i sometimes find myself, or sitting on the bed waiting for my asthma to subside so i can lie down, i will play a card game called crown, which does not rely solely on luck. it's not brain surgery but it is a kind of puzzle even so. the two games i play on my laptop, howrse ( http://us.howrse.com/?parrain=genessa )and throne ( https://plarium.com/en/strategy-games/throne-kingdom-at-war/?in=eyJpIjozMTY5OTkzOSwicyI6MCwidCI6OSwibCI6MSwiaXQiOjZ9LjBjYzMwNjk5NTNmNThkNWU4YmIyOThlYjE2ZDhmNTMz0=119037=inviteFriend=clipboard ), are complex, not platform games, and their complexity is, for me, the draw. (yes, those links are specific to me as the inviter, and i am not sure about throne but i get a little something if you use the howrse one and play -- it's about horses, so if you don't like horses, don't bother! i've been playing for 11 years. my name there is genessa and you can send me a friend request, which i will deny if you don't write to me first and tell me you're from here lol. otherwise, how will i know, right? i get a lot of friend requests. throne is a war game, the best i have ever found. if you want to join me there, use the one-time thingie you get as a noob, i forget what it's called, but it lets you choose kingdoms. i'm in hentenswan. my main name is genessa (i have a secondary name, tsipporah). i belong to the order called swords for glory, and our kingdom is hentenswan; you can't join it if you're in some other kingdom and if you join the ...

genessa comments on Nov 17, 2018:
i think that's just wonderful, and i don't want you to take what i say and ask next the wrong way, not one bit, okay? but within judaism, you can be an unbeliever in a deity -- it's not ideal because judaism is human-focused but still god-based. but you can't be *orthodox* and an unbeliever in a deity. so what i THINK you're saying is they're ex-orthodox, still jewish but no longer orthodox. if you're orthodox, boy oh boy are you a believer in a deity! now of course i could be mistaken to the extent that they're still involved in their orthodox community, and maybe they're not "out" yet as atheists. they may dress the dress and walk the walk and they may have very good reasons for doing so; i won't judge them. but can you clarify, just for the bemused and curious such as myself? and again, making good friends is a VERY good thing! i'm sorry you're so far from them now geographically (story of MY life as it happens) but i am guessing you'll make good friends in spokane (where i have never been) as well. g

Get off social media after a half hour and you might be happier - CNET
genessa comments on Nov 16, 2018:
well, that's a one-size-fits-all conclusion, isn't it? do they care which social medium? do they care which person and whether that person is disabled and unable to do things that others can do, but finds comfort, activity and some kind of normalcy online? that's not an unusual situation; a lot of disabled people rely on the internet, including social media. (i understand that there is a huge deaf community, for one example). in addition, some fascinating conversations, be they one-on-one or in a group, simply take longer than half an hour. and how is that length of time calculated anyway? it seems pretty arbitrary. g

How do you guys overcome the fear of Hell?
genessa comments on Nov 16, 2018:
i don't come from religion, per se. i was raised in a secular jewish family, but even if i had been raised as a religious jew, heaven and hell really don't come into it. jewish sermons don't have fire and brimstone. judaism doesn't have a devil (jewish folklore sometimes does but that's different and it's still quite different from the christian devil, heaven and hell). so i never really had a hell to fear. just keep reminding yourself: it's a fairy tale! you may as well be afraid of the big bad wolf :-)) g

there is one aspect of your question in which i am no expert, because i never dated much. i had a love life but it was serendipitous! and now i am with my love, have been for 18 years, and he's not even an atheist but at least he's not religious (or from a different religious background from mine, either). so that part... yeah, i imagine it's not the first question you ask on a date. but being a homebody (which i more or less am, at least some of the time, too) doesn't help. putting yourself out there (not the same as putting out, i hasten to add!) doesn't mean looking for a guy. just putting yourself in social situations and letting the chips fall as they may won't automatically mean you start dating. it will mean you are out there, and might meet someone. meanwhile, i guess you're in the right place to meet (online) some people who fulfill that one qualification. trouble is, they might not fulfill any others, and they might not be honest about it. i have only seen (so far) ONE female scam artist here. i've seen a number of religious guys apparently convinced that atheist women sleep with anyone (since we have no god, we have no morals, right?) and some purported atheists and agnostics who are not willing to give a whole lot of themselves to the cause, then complain that no woman wants them (they're likely right about that). so you still have a lot of work to do if you're here looking for someone to date! my suggestion, for what it's worth? be here for the community. engage. your profile is good. you say stuff about yourself. it's amazing how many profiles don't! but engage in the community, make friends. some of them might get interested and if they don't... hey, friends are cool to have too! good luck! g p.s. i met my guy totally by accident. it was SO weird. sparks? not a single one. it took me months to fall in love, and months after that for me to get him to fall in love with me, and man, did i work hard at that! i'd never gone after anyone before! i never even thought i could! go figure.
We know advertisements are stupid.
genessa comments on Nov 16, 2018:
there are a gazillion of them that lie outright, but one just sprang to mind. because it's currently medicare advantage enrollment season the ads for plans and for programs to find you plans are coming fast and furious. one of them talks about high-priced obamacare as if obamacare is a health care plan. it's not. it's a law. the ad mentions "if you are on obamacare...." everyone is on obamacare. the law applies to all insurance, not just the exchanges. the ad also claims that the law has changed. nope. the repugs keep trying but no, it hasn't. it implies that now you can get something cheaper that isn't obamacare. well, no plan is obamacare; it's all governed by that law, though. what the ad does not say is that it can't really do anything for anyone except take and sell your contact information. g
Anyone know how compatibility percentages are calculated?

I have been seeking female companionship for awhile now, here and on assorted other sites.
genessa comments on Nov 16, 2018:
that is the best way. the problem with seeking female companionship is that 51 percent or so of the population is female and you're trying to find one to love and by whom to be loved, and love isn't a THING. you can't look for it. it's an action/interaction/reaction. you need two parties for that. if love were science you could look for some specific elements and measure the interactions. people go after love, after a lover, with the same idea. this element will make that reaction. it doesn't work that way with love. you may like short, dark and buxom, and guess what? some skinny blonde or fat redhead has the elements you need. you may like artistic and yielding and some argumentative mathematician may have just what will spark between you. so the search is doubly, triply hard. your solution, concentrating on something else, is ABSOLUTELY the right thing, as long as you keep your eyes and ears open. g

The media’s job is to create the illusion that bad things are happening all around you and that ...
genessa comments on Nov 15, 2018:
really? that's media's job? that's just not true at all. and what exactly is big government? the republicans say democrats are for big government and the democrats generally cut unnecessary government spending and reappropriate it to what governments SHOULD spend on, so even if the number of government agencies or employees is the same, it's not the same thing! meanwhile, some people think laws that make corporations stop polluting our air and water is intrusive, and others thing that laws that make women let men control their bodies is intrusive. guess which i think? g

How stupid am I for wanting to marry a virgin?
genessa comments on Nov 15, 2018:
the only reason i can think of why a man would possibly want to marry a virgin, NOT related to custom or religion, is that he doesn't want her to have anything to compare him to. that sounds pretty insecure to me. i am not attacking you. i am telling you what i really think. g
Just how dedicated are you to agnosticism?
genessa comments on Nov 15, 2018:
dedicated? (i'm an atheist, by the way.) i don't give it THAT much thought. i mean, okay, there are no gods. i should spend most of my time thinking about the fact that there are no gods? i've got stuff to do! but i'm way political :-)) that's got nothing to do with god. anyway no, this is not another church, and the word is atheist, not athiest. i am also not hedonistic. why would i be? do i need a god to tell me right from wrong? haven't so far! g
An answer to theists who say "Without religion where are your morals?
genessa comments on Nov 15, 2018:
it is actually cheaper to keep someone in prison than to kill that person, since killing the person involves (as it should, considering the irreversibility of the punishment) numerous appeals as WELL as keepiong that person in prison. as for morals, i have been told i can't be a truly good person because being good is my own idea and therefore selfish, whereas a christian (as if christianity is the only religion in the world!) does it for god or for jesus. to me that's bass-ackward. of course it's better to be good because you want to be good and not because you want favor or fear punishment! g

Do you ever want to believe in the afterlife? (Post is sad.)
genessa comments on Nov 15, 2018:
no. if i can't control the menu and the music i don't want to be there. i am sorry about your mom. that is rough, and 40 is too young. i am not a doctor; i do not know when life ends. i have to take doctors' word for it that it ends with brain death. i see my mom and dad, both dead, in dreams. it isn't the same as being able to call them but i do see them quite often. g
Would you say you value life more, considering you don't believe in an afterlife?
genessa comments on Nov 15, 2018:
more than what? even when i believed in a god i never thought about an afterlife. it did not enter my thoughts once in all my 15 years, and then of course it still didn't after i realized there were no gods. so i value life the same as i ever did. g

Any ideas about how to overcome fear in public speaking?
genessa comments on Nov 14, 2018:
some people say it helps to envision your audience naked. i think i would laugh too hard to speak if i did that, but then i am not afraid of public speaking (i don't say this to boast; i am afraid of plenty of stuff, just not that!) if you don't benefit from picturing them all naked, then just picture them as one big person, and that person really wishes you well and wants to hear what you have to say. make eye contact with various people and smile when you do that. make your speech conversational, not stiff. i hope this helps. g

Are you a Centrist?
genessa comments on Nov 14, 2018:
centrism's definition changes according to where center falls, which itself changes. i don't think i have ever been a centrist. my views have always been left of center. center has crept closer to me, and farther away, and back closer over the decades. i do not agree that centrism is even a political ideology in itself, much less that it is based on reason and pragmatism (as opposed to every other view?) because it has no position itself, changing as it does. it's like trying to define a median income without defining the range. g
Are you a better person ,since joining Agnostic.
genessa comments on Nov 14, 2018:
why in the world would joining a social media site make me a better person? why would the opposite of that be either finding it difficult to judge or not caring? i don't understand the reasoning behind any part of this question. i am already a good person. i joined so i could have a decent conversation and not be told i'm going to hell, or get prayed for, or be told atheism is a religion. what in the world has that got to do with becoming a better person? g
Conversation....Anyone?
genessa comments on Nov 14, 2018:
two ways to have a conversation here (other than via message, which i don't recommend until you've gotten to know someone in the community): 1. respond to posts on topics that interest you. this can be in a group you've joined (most won't let you post unless you're a member) or just in a category. 2. make a post on a topic that interests you, in a group you've joined or a category you've chosen. just asking for conversation without yourself reaching out and joining or starting one doesn't work so well. g
Hi! ? How do you guys address the ole "What if you're wrong?" question?
genessa comments on Nov 13, 2018:
i don't think about it at all because it is so unlikely. if i run into the tooth fairy then maybe i'll reconsider. but here are some possibilities: 1. i am wrong, there is a god, and he's a good god. he doesn't care that i didn't believe. he is glad i was a good person. 2. i am wrong, there is a god, and he's a bad god. i should spend my life worshiping a bad god? feh, i'll live my life until i die. there are no gods. g
Has anyone else here become nihilistic after becoming an Atheist?
genessa comments on Nov 13, 2018:
not me. i think that's what religionists think atheists are, but it isn't necessarily true. if there is no god to tell us what's right and what's wrong, then we have to figure it out for ourselves, and unless we figure that there is nothing right or wrong, then we would be the opposite of nihilists. g
Should more atheists speak out against religion or keep their views to themselves?
genessa comments on Nov 13, 2018:
i don't think speaking out against religion would be effective in what i think should be our primary objective, which is equal rights for atheists. i think our efforts should be directed toward separation of church and state, eliminating the law against atheists running for elected office in the states that still have that law, and good public relations (and thus good acceptance) for atheists. speaking out against religion itself can be counterproductive, and can also be seen as violating freedom of religion. we want to enforce freedom FROM religion, not deprive others of their freedoms. people should be free to be as dumb as they want as long as they keep it out of our faces. EDIT: this doesn't mean we should not speak our minds. we should be free to express ourselves. however, it isn't necessary to tell that woman on the other side of walmart that her ass is hanging out, and it is just as unnecessary to tell every religionist you meet that s/he is nucking futs. pick your battles. g
Are Churches anti-choice?
genessa comments on Nov 13, 2018:
reform judaism isn't anti-abortion. i don't know about conservative judaism. orthodox, which represents a teeny tiny minority of judaism, might, but not under all circumstances. i have never been christian but my observation is that christianity's objections are awfully unscientific and not particularly honest. g

A question for all those that are looking for a date/mate/lover .
genessa comments on Nov 13, 2018:
i'm a straight women and not in the market as i have my love, but imagining that i was looking, and i was looking for a straight guy, i would have to trust that straight guy to choose and love me and no one else. so if i could trust a straight guy to eschew all other women and be only with me, why couldn't i trust a bi guy to eschew all other men and women and be only with me? i have a friend who is a bisexual man, and he has been married and as far as i know faithful to the same woman for many decades. if you're monogamous, then being bi just means your field is wider open but once you choose someone, whichever sex that person is, you're still going to be monogamous, and if you're a player, you can be unfaithful with just one sex as easily as with two. so no, if trust is earned, why should i care? g

genessa comments on Nov 13, 2018:
it works two ways. i see you're here for the dating half of the site, so i recommend that you browse through the groups and find some (and join them) that are about meeting people and dating. to wider your scope, browse the posts in the categories that interest you, make some pertinent comments, see who's on your page, so to speak. you needn't eschew the community half just because you're open to meeting someone special, right? when you have something to say about something (choose a topic that means something to you) go ahead and post. if you post in the groups you join, after reading posts to see what's going on, you may make some friends. g
