Most people don't realize that nearly all testimony delivered to/before congress is in written form and that any in person questioning is primarily political theater. In my previous job I had to testify before congress on several occasions and the process is intimidating to say the least,

@genessa It is sworn testimony, and the Q & A tomorrow will be based on it. Almost all testimony delivered to congress is written and you never see the inside of the hearing room. The difference here is that there will be oral questions, he will still have several weeks to provide written follow up to clarify.

This is standard in congressional testitmony, a written statement with attachments is supplied to the committee so that they may review it prior to you sitting for questions. Sometimes they allow you to read it before the cameras, and sometimes it is merely placed in the record. When there are threats against witnesses, the committee chair or the speaker may elect to allow the testimony to be released for publication prior to the hearing actually starting.

@flower_nut That's going to be a call while I'm on the road, it is about a 1 hr detour, sepending on traffic at the security checkpoints. If the weather is good and the lighting right, I'll definitely make the stop, if not, I'll be going that way agian later this summer or fall.

@flower_nut The walking bridge is actually a pretty neat idea, the main car bridge has concrete walls high enough so you have no idea when you are actually passing it. It's a several mile backtrack with security checkpoints, but well worth the quick sidetrip.

@Sheannutt I just wish he had said something sooner. When I redid his room, I used T-11 siding with a urethane coating. He loved it because he could take off his socks and throw them at the wall and they would stick. Was quite a sight if you walked in and he hadn't taken down everything he stuck to the walls.

@BeeHappy unless they are too scared to come out, but the food is going pretty much untouched, and even the racoons haven't been around. I've only seen one for the last week. The two that were too wild to catch are still around, but they bolt as soon as i open the door.

I melt honest to gawd butter in a cast iron skillet & run my bread through the melted butter till both slices are evenly coated. Layer in my cheese, sometimes bacon & tomato if I wanna get fancy, & grill to a beautiful golden brown over medium low heat. Serve with ice cold dill pickles.

@phxbillcee It is settled law, this was a clear violation of constitutionally granted rights. The lawsuit was from the height of the Vietnam war when black students refused to stand for the presentation of the colors, and pledge. The SC ruled it was a free speech issue since schools were government institutions.
