Native fire ants pollenating some yellow flower.

glennlab replies on May 24, 2019:
You are refering to the invasive species, the native is the primary food for the Texas horned lizzard and an important pollinator of many desert flowers and has been here for millenia. they are almost half an inch long but are out competed for food by the invasive species. They have large mounds typically with a single entrance. This is the ant that was used in torture by the native americans, it has a very painful bite and a dangerous sting, but they prefer their food dead, so it could take several days to finally kill you.

@Shouldbefishing I should have been clearer, you start muching with hay straw as the temperatures drop in the fall, keeping the pile at least 2 feet deep., trim anything dead, then once the weather breaks in the spring, uncover it and cut any dead leaves off the trunk. Basic lesson in Finance, the bonds that are held by the chinese sovern fund are not callable by the bond holder, they are callable by the treasury, so as such the only thing they can do is sell them on the secondary market. Tarriffs are NOT paid by the country that they are levied against, they are paid at the time of landing by the importer and passed on with mark up to the eventual buyer, so a 25% tarriff will cost the consumer 30 to 40% more when they buy the affected goods. third even if the bonds were callable by the Chinese, there is such a demand for US bonds that it would be a small feat to raise the funds to pay them off.

Yes I have. It was when I worked for a christian organization. "Holier than thou" is too nice a euphemism for how they acted. What I came in contact with was pure judgement. "We judge you beneath us so we will treat you accordingly." Pure meanness, pure evil, worst scum on the planet...and that...
glennlab replies on May 7, 2019:
When I worked for the church, I used to say nothing changed you into a cynic quite like working for the church.
