since I went to Belize with just a backpack, I have that one figure out for the tropics, anywhere else, I'll skip the flight. Laptop, camera& accessories, cell phone, cables for all my connections, spare hard drive, memory chips, passport and wallet and a few changes of clothes. And that bag will fit either under the seat or in the overhead. Same thing I take almost anytime I fly to a warm destination.
