The studies were much like some of the other "cancer studies" where amounts beyond human capability were shown to cause cancer , ie a person would have to drink 4 cases of diet sodas a day for several years to get similar amounts of the chemicals that the rats were given.

I also live in a border state, realisticly there are only a few hundred miles where there is not an existing border fence, the vast majority of people here without permission come in through, the airports. If we were truly worried about illegal immigration we would more accurately track people that have overstayed their visas. The wall will do nothing to stop illegal immigration, slow down drug trafficing, human trafficing, or terrorism. It will destroy natural beauty, divide families, steal land, stop animal migration patterns and worsen relation with one of out top 2 trading partners. There are other cheaper ways, that stand a much better chance of being effective.
