China's Rover Finds Traces of Never-Before-Seen Basalt on The Moon: [sciencealert.com]

Basalt is fine grained igneous rock, not fucking water. The moon has water in the form of ice and some of minerals, not in its lava flows.

@Kurtn Why would there be any mention of the bastard son of a carpenter from a backwater of the Roman empire. To the Romans he was little more than a criminal they executed. Roman history omits many of the governors and at least one emperor. As far as other records, in 70 CE, the Romans burned all of Israel, dismantling the cities and burning all documents and dispersing the people left alive. I find it strange that out of all I had to say, you picked out the word born, as if that invalidated my premise that his birth had nothing to do with what I celebrated at Christmas. Here's some more food for thought, I'm not Mexican, but I enjoy Cinco de Mayo, I'm not Irish but I celebrate St Patrick's Day, I'm not a dead Veteran, but I celebrate Memorial Day, I'm not a Mother, but I celebrate Mother's day. I spent almost my entire career in management, but I celebrate Labor Day. I've been divorced for 10 years, but I still celebrate Valentines day. In fact about the holidays that I do qualify for are father's day and Veterans day.

I am seriously wondering with all the damage done to their brand already, whether they will vote to seat him or not. It takes a 50%+1to refuse to seat him, but a 3/4 vote to expel him
glennlab replies on Dec 21, 2022:
@LucyLoohoo The election is returned to the state. This has happened in the past, they will have a special election to fill the unfilled seat. The most recent being Adam Clayton Powell, Jr.& Louis C. · Roland Burris (D-Illinois),

I have read the DOJ is under no obligation to follow up on the Jan 6th investigative commission's recommendations. Is 1) this true and 2) Has the DOJ reacted in any way yet?
glennlab replies on Dec 20, 2022:
The DOJ reacted earlier by appointing a special prosecutor, the 1/6 committee has just begun the transfer of the millions of pages of documents to DOJ. Even though it is a short trip, it is voluminous and proper logistics is key to having the files delivered in a workable way. It will take law clerks and attorneys to review and route the files to the appropriate prosecutor handling that section of the case. DOJ is under no obligation to charge or even investigate by law, but they already had multiple investigations going on. The transfer of evidence will allow them to fine tune their investigation. DOJ will not indict unless they feel that they can win a criminal case, so not all referals may result in charges.

glennlab comments on Dec 20, 2022:
I don't think even the law school drop outs that he hires would make that double jeopardy argument, no matter how much he promised to pay them.
glennlab replies on Dec 20, 2022:
@anglophone Based on his ability to take the 5th 400+ times in the NY trial, I'm going to guess that he has more self control than he shows in public. His modus operandi has always been to delay, extend, negotiate, settle. He has never had to actually be faced with jail time, only loss of money or additional oversight, so it will be a sobering experience for him. I think he will follow his previous battle plans and begin by delaying and trying to create a smoke screen in the press.
