Had it not been for the joining of efforts of the military and academia, it would never have gotten off the ground. In fact it had failed miserably in it's prior efforts. @AnneWimsey Mine dates back to working in high noise environments back in the 70s. It goes through variations, but nothing has really helped, I didn't start taking a daily aspirin until a few years ago and it has had no effect.

Unfortunately this is not my first broken bone, both wrists, both ankles, numerous fingers and toes, not to mention deep bone bruises and other injuries that required physical therapy. I follow the PT schedule to just beyond the point of pain. I have a nice hot tub that I use everyday, but right now 3 times a day. I haven't let it slow me down too much and expect a full recovery. The recliner works better than the wedge pillow for sleeping nearly sitting up.
