Redheadedgammy comments on Feb 1, 2022:
It’s going to become more and more expensive for the RNC to keep doing this. How far will they go to keep appeasing him?

@Redheadedgammy The problem is that they initially tried to explain it as supporting their candidate, but his new legal bills have nothing to do with the RNC.

@BD66 The private money was needed in part because the federal government hadn't provided enough funding. Congress allocated $400 million in March for election services, but that was just a tenth of what some officials said was needed. "Despite election officials basically begging our federal government for assistance, that money never came through," said Liz Howard, with the Brennan Center for Justice at New York University. "Congress really failed our election officials." With little action from Congress, the private sector, led by Zuckerberg and Chan, stepped up. The couple awarded $400 million to nonprofits for election assistance

The clusterfuck began when the WHO offered a proven test to the US, Trump instead opted to have the NIH/CDC develop a US test. This slowed testing down by several months. Once we had the initial wave subside, the mass testing sites were no longer needed, so many were closed down and the ones that ...

The worst part is you don't get holidays any more.
glennlab replies on Jan 12, 2022:
I've had to change around how I celebrate. Regular day off type holidays, I just have to remember not to go to the bank, the "family" ones, I ask my ex wife what we are doing and she tells me when and where. I was always the holiday planner/cook, so it is nice to not worry about it.

Why do you have a picture of Taylor Swift? I’m pretty sure with the volume of work she pumps out that she’s not a major drinker. Now I also love P!NK but she’s seems to be a drinker even with the two kids.

I had no idea who the picture was of. I saw Pink in Las Vegas and really enjoyed her.

I always thought it was ironic that hunters were held to higher firearms standards than police. If a hunter can't tell that a deers antlers are at least 13 inches wide at 100 yards, they can be fined up to $2000, but a copt can't tell the difference between a comb and a gun at 10 feet gets a walk.

glennlab replies on Jan 5, 2022:
The impeachment and Senate trial are admistrative in nature, and courts have held that criminal prosecution after an impeachment is permissable. Miller is simply wrong. DOJ proceeds slowly and deliberately, did you catch the AGs speech today?

glennlab replies on Jan 5, 2022:
Due to the speedy trial act of 1974, the DOJ must be ready to begin a trial not more than 70 days after an iformation or indictment is filed. This can be waived by the defendent, but not by the DOJ. It took 2 years to be prepared for the congress to be prepared to forward a criminal referal on Nixon.
