@Lizard_of_Ahaz You sound just like the people that tell me diet drinks taste just like the originals, even to the point of trying to trick me, in over 60 years I have never been tricked into believing it wasn't a diet drink. I can touch my dry finger into stevia and then to my tongue and get the after taste for hours. Also cilantro tastes like soap. I know that it is not true for most people, but it is for me. I drive the nutritionist at the VA crazy. I monitor my blood sugar and use very little sugar at all. I bought a 5 lb bag 2 years ago and still have some left.
I never really cared for their food and the last time I was in one was when my 38 year old son was ...

@glennlab, Why was your son still in middle school at 38?

I bet, Sir, you also enjoy converting beans and cabbage into natural gas. 😆
glennlab comments on Oct 26, 2021:
My Dr prescribed a probiotic so I am much better at converting all vegetable matter into natural gas.

@Lizard_of_Ahaz anything with stevia in it makes me sick to my stomach and leaves an aftertaste for hours, the capsules are fine and it is short term.

I think you need a comprehensive zoology book. Until you find one this is what a pelican looks like. https://images.app.goo.gl/CpyEHG6eu9dz3dt2A

Gosh, I remember gas price wars in Detroit in the later 60s…gas was 17¢ A gallon and we could fill our VW bug for $2. Then, somewhere in the late 70s, BOOM, gas was “high”. Oh how I wish gas was that “high” today.

I so loved the gas wars.

Same. In 74, I switched from a muscle car to a small sports car. In 79, I was stationed in San Diego; California went to odd and even gas buying days - most of us were exempt because we had out of state plates; I also remember long gas lines and having a placard that said "last car for gas."
glennlab replies on Oct 25, 2021:
I was stationed in Spokane in 73 and 79, the base gas station had an extra ration of gas above what it's allocation should have been.

It was definitely 1973 I just left my first husband and had $12 in the bank. I'd also moved just far enough away that it was long distance for anyone to call. The kids ate lots of macaroni and cheese that week.
glennlab replies on Oct 25, 2021:
I had double sticker shock in 73, I had just visited the Houston area on leave and had to drive back as the prices were going up and the shortages were kicking in. Not as dire as your circumstances, but glad you made it.
Time to head to the coast
