Maybe this will explain it better
barjoe comments on Oct 4, 2021:
There is a labor shortage in high risk jobs. PA still has $7.25 minimum wage. I know a restaurant is offering $17/hr for a dishwasher and they can't get legal workers to take the job. This owner won't hire undocumented workers because it's illegal. He could get an immigrant to do it for $10.
glennlab replies on Oct 4, 2021:
I had a part time job washing dishes in 1974, it paid $14/hr, so 40 years later and it is only $17, it seems like that is a bit low. One thing that the shut down showed was that there were better jobs than the service industry that paid better. The only labor shortage right now is for lower paying jobs,

@Killtheskyfairy My political experience has been that there are always people that will vote against their own self interest, but the has been to make it about either their children or their parents and they will vote. But it is like them saying that blacks, and other groups don't vote as a block. The media high lights the 10 % that voted against their self interest and ignores the 90 %. Not every member of a group will vote for/against an issue, but if you have over 55-60%, that is considered a block.

First I did not attibute it to Attenborough, second it is not presented as factual, but as metophorical to make a point. The reality is that one of the ,most effective ways to treat fire ant mounds without poisons is to take a shovel full of one ant mound and dump it on another mound. They will fight to the death even seeking out the queens. Since the exact type of ant is not specified, it would be next to impossible to prove or disprove There are 22,000 species of which only 13,800 have been classified so you do the math.

I worked planning nuclear war in SAC and was aware of the complete options available as well as how they were to be implemented. glennlab replies on Sep 16, 2021:
@273kelvin He did not alter the chain of command, he revolked the authority for a more junior officer to act on his behalf. This is a normal act during periods of increased tensions and has been done on countless occations at multiple levels. It is not only normal and permissable for the chairman to contact foreign leaders, it is routine. The calls are transcripted, recorded and listened to by numerous others. It has been black letter law since the Nuremberg trials that if you follow an illegal order, you are guilty of whatever crimes are committed and that it is no defense to say you were following orders. The launch of a nuclear device without provocation violates US law. The president does not have that authority. The chain of command goes President-chairman of the JCS, then down from there. He insured that no one went outside the chain as could be allowed in some circumstances.

glennlab replies on Sep 16, 2021:
He actually followed the law, After the Nixon presidentcy, when it was determined that under the protocol in effect, the Joint Chiefs would be 15 minutes too late to stop an illegal order and prevent a nuclear war. The process was changed to add the JCS command post as an action center. The chairman in normal times delegates the authority to a lower level 2 star or above general, however that delegation of authority was recended by Milley and he dictated that any launch order had to pass through him directly. The president has numerous launch options, a full SIOP (all weapons) if the US has been launched on, multiple limited nuclear options not in direct response to a nuclear attack but justified by other actions. LNOs must be approved by a joint committee under the war powers act. The JCS has the knowledge, equipment and personnel to determine the likelyhood of a foreign launch within 4 minutes of launch and would have been the ones to tell the president. Had Trump ordered an LNO, to provoke the Chinese into a nuclear war, that would have been an illegal order that General Milley rightfully should override and inform the leaders of congress immediately,

the fraud, in most states, starts a new statute of limitations running from the date the fraud was discovered. In some cases fraud has no statute of limitations. It all depends on the state and the prosecutor, There is also the federal statute which he violated, it will depend on the will of the US attorney for the districts where the fraud was committed.

@racocn8 Theory is great, but practice is what gives us the reality. Utopian socialism has never existed and based on our experience with human nature will never exist. The best we can hope for is socializing the natural monopolies, socializing human needs and allowing capitalism to be highly regulated and taxed. Communism came out of the utopian era and never worked as advertised. Indeed, because of the human greed element never could. Only a hybrid system could.
