I have the beginnings of beans, my tomatoes have set fruit, I've been getting squash for a little over a week, but my other plants are still reeling from our strange weather this year. The freeze in Feb. nearly wiped out my loquat and fig trees, and killed all my pomegranate trees.
glennlab replies on May 6, 2021:
@MsKathleen I am probably just going to take them out. It takes 3-5 years to start getting fruit and thios was the second time they froze to the ground. Good luck on the potatoes, I am trying deep buckets for them this year to see if that will work. The Feb, freeze totally froze the first batch I had planted, so I lost a month of growing season.

glennlab replies on May 6, 2021:
@whiskywoman The biggest problem aside from the shear size of this one is the Chinese did not put retro rockets on the main stage, so it is tumbling to earth rather than a smooth reentry, making it possible to only estimate a 6 hour window when it will crash. It is orbiting every 90 minutes so that means the entire orbital path must be alerted.

@bbyrd009 Since you are so woefully misinformed to believe that polio was the beginning of the vaccine age, and I'm more sure that you don't have even a basic understanding of biology and don't undertand that facebook is not the purveyor of real information. NIH, CDC, WHO all have archives on line there are a lot more sites. The earliest mandated vaccines in the Americas was by Gen, George Washington for smallpox in the Continental Army. 100 % of the soldiers were vaccinated. I don't know everything, but I do know how to research. I have become an expert in many areas due to a need for spedific information. I also know that information is constantly updated with new findings and how to distinguish between fact and opinion. If it doesn't have cites,or. hasn't been peer reviewd published, it is opinion

@Castlepaloma As of May 4, 7.9% of the worlds population has gotten 1 shot, and 3.6 % are fully vaccinated. I was speaking to facts, not the cartoon. If you have facts, not numbers pulled out of your ass like the zero, I'll be glad to listen. Just as with every other vaccine in the history of the world, it is done nation by nation. Each nation then decides on whether to require the vaccine for anyone crossing its border. When I got my first passport, I had to carry a shot record with it. If you couldn't prove you had a particular shot, you were denied entry or placed in quarintine upon return. The reason we don't worry about people dieing from smallpox and a host of other diseases is we have required shots for them for school children.

The first step is to rid our government of oil futures holding egotists that only have their own best interest at heart.
glennlab replies on Apr 23, 2021:
Oil is not the only interest or even the biggest. Members of Congress and the senior executive branch should be prohibited from owning any stock or options unless they are held in blind trust. The prohibition should extend to their first degree families as well (parents, siblings, children)

glennlab comments on Apr 22, 2021:

I would guess it would use similar technology to that of O2 concentrators here on earth, but I'm probably wrong.
glennlab replies on Apr 22, 2021:
It is a different system. There is not enough elemental oxygen to concentrate, instead they use a chemical process using heat and a catalyst to convert CO2 to Carbon monoxide and oxygen where they vent to CO back into the atmosphere.

Beautiful flower. I bought a couple roses this year at the local Lowes, but I seem to have better luck killing them. They were the packaged bare root variety and they looked healthy enough at the store. I'm not certain what I'm doing wrong.
glennlab replies on Apr 21, 2021:
@RussRAB, @Mooolah It is more the part of Texas he is in. East Texas supplies a large portion of the root stock for patented roses nationwide. The Texas native rose is a very hardy bush that will grow into thickets 20 feet across. Soil needs to be acidic and well drained. Soil preparation in the DFW area should include as a minimum, 12-18 inches of pinebark/peatmoss mix soil. At least 10-12 inches of the soil should be above the grade of the yard. Roses around here are a lot of work.

@Diogenes Well Canada has a lot more remote forests, where he could be safely released without fear of human contamination, or we could see if Cuba has a reserve that they can release him on.
