It is a democratic organization, if youi don't have the votes, you don't have the votes. I have been a member of the progressive caucus at many conventions, but they were too unorganized to craft a plan of action. It normally meets at the same time as the veterans caucus, they better (marginally) how to get things done so my efforts rest with them more. The progressive caucus tends to shotgun approach rather than rifle shot.
The black caucus was equally ineffective until they started to focus, now they are a major force to be recconded with.

The city called us and we moved them, they sent a crew out 24 hours later and removed every sign that was in the right of way and sent a bill to the county parties for the removal. Our bill $0, the republicans had at least 3 pickup truckloads removed, they thought the law didn't apply to them since they had been the ones to point out the violation.

We bought silver mine stocks on the Spokane Mining exchange, bought for around $3 sold at 29 on the way up to 30, market crashed that afternoon and it took us 6 weeks to see our money, SEC busted several trades larger than ours, but they all belonged to executives of the mines. I keep a 40 ounce silver slug as a paperweight from my days at the newspaper.

Anyone that knew anything about metals knew what he was doing, but the people that subscribed to his newsletter were on the same level that Joel Osteen fleeces. same market too. I still have one Kuggerand that I paid less than $250 for in the mid to late 70s. When gold made it's huge jump up to over $800, I sold most of what I held.

His stand of the gold standard was quite a scam since he was actively involved in selling gold and silver by mail order and selling a finacial newsletter that encouraged heavily investing in gold and silver.
That doesn't sound very left wing to me. If left wing is selling the roads, the post office, doing away with all social programs and every man fends for himself, you have a much different understanding of right and left than I do.

He was really an interesting person to reseach, had a son and grandson both named Placide and remarried vary late in life to a very young woman. The church records didn't include the I, II, or III so you had to go to the census records to clarify which was which. Both he and his son were conscripted into the confederate army, serving in different regiments, but in some of the same battles. The other problem was that depending on the person writing the story, they spelled the name at least 3 different ways.

The next morning the husk is kicked out of the web to be swept away. It was my revenge for the grasshoppers doing so much damage to my plants.

Hold on, it can be really rough, I had a mild case and wanted to die to get better. I can't emphasis enough to stock up on electrolytes, wet wipes and get plenty of rest, no matter how much you slept last night.

I was only able to handle fluids for about a week. Everyone is different. Hopefully the National park Service (the ones that are responsible for maintenance) saved those plants so that they might be restored or replanted elsewhere. They are a very good group of preservationist after all.

The Libertarian party has had the financial backing of the Koch's for decades, even they decide that it was a better use of their money to back a movement within the existing structure, the Tea Party. I have invested a lot of time in trying to change the democratic party, in fact we elected two more liberal Bernie backers to the DNC this year. Had we been able to have an in person convention this year, we may have been able to elect more. In two years I will be back at the state convention working to elect more progressives/liberals to the DNC.

It is easy to finds fault, but unless you are doing something to change it, you are pissing on my leg and telling me that it's raining. I don't like the system we have, but it is the system we have. I am sure that you know that SBA was denied a trial by jury since she readily admitted her guilt, so the judge dismissed the jury, found her guilty, imposed a fine of $100 which she refused to pay, he then refused to jail her for failure to pay the fine, denying her the right to appeal that the right for women to vote had been granted by the 14th amendment. The government refused to bring any of the other women charged to trial, since all they would have to do is plead not guilty to get a trial that would serve as a basis for appeal.
