@WonderWartHog99 I've had spectacular success, running water and fish poop are the main ingredients. With running water being the most important. I use it primarily to filter the water and begin harvesting from about 30 days after my first start. i take the bunch from the supermarket, trim about half an inch off the stem some I will put in the "waterfall" routing and some I will put in holes in floating pices of styrofoam insulation sheets with holes spaced 1*1 on a foot square piece both work well, but the waterfall works best.

@WonderWartHog99 I grow it in my fish pond filter area, and have for years, summer here makes it way too hot to eat, so I use different plants then. I grew up in a town that was so small that it maintained the same population since the 1930s, everytime a girl got pregnant a guy left town. When I go back to visit family, I remember why it was that I left, there are 3000 people in town and I can still tell what family the kids belong to.

Squash vine borer.
glennlab comments on Oct 8, 2019:
I have found that if I start my squash very early indoors, then transplant, I am able to harvest quite a bit before the borers destroy the plants. then when I find the grubs, I will split open the vine and remove it. It is labor intensive, but I seem to be slowly gaining ground.
glennlab replies on Oct 8, 2019:
@CrazyQuilter I have a similar problem, think in terms of winter gardening for things that are spring crops elsewhere. My tomatoes and eggplants are setting fruit right now that will most likely be harvested before first frost. Beans are a early spring crop, peas are a winter crop, forget all that you knew about seasons and instead look at growing times before heat and drought wipe out the plants.

@Susan4birds sounds like you need iron and manganese, they work for plants to strengthen the chloroplasts. Epsom salt, pots should be 5-10 gallons for proper root growth, the smaller the pot, the more often you need to add minerals and water and the easier it is to get a chemical imbalance.

@racocn8 Normal radioactive decay only releases mininsule and mostly unmeasureable matter to energy conversions, it is only through fission that we are able to get a measureable amount of matter conversion, Hiroshima bomb (16 kilotons of energy) was a conversion of approx 700 milligram of U-235 the Tzar Bomba converted just over 2 kilograms. While you explanation is good it has little to do with the enerrgy released by breaking the nuclear forces holding nuclei together. or for that matter the fusion that boosts almost all current weapons.

You are trying to understand a theory, without understanding the individual terms and their relational value, or what is being explained. This formula is the explanation of how matter and energy are related to each other. It builds on Newton's theories on Kinetic and Potential energy as well as ...
glennlab replies on Sep 23, 2019:
@Remiforce There is a reason that it took 200 years to move from newtonian Physics to general relativity. Mass is best understood as weight as compared to water. The theory relates to how energy and matter are related in the universe. If you take one gram of matter (solid, liquid, gas, it doesn't matter) and totally deconstruct it so that it is totally converted into energy, that is what the theory applies to. This is at the atomic level, no atoms or particles are left. To give you an idea of why this matters, if you take a piece of wood, burn it until it is only ash, if you weigh the gas produced and the ash, it will weigh the same as before you started in spite of large amount of energy produced. Nagasaki was the result of less than 2 kilograms of matter being converted into energy if I remember right, it may have been less. Do not try to reconcile general and special relativity with string theory, they have spent over 100 years trying to do that with very little headway. E=MC2 has been proven to be correct in applied physics. I would sstill suggest trying to locate some of Isaac Asimov's physics texts, He is probably the easiest physicist to understand.
Some of y'all are doing WAY better than me.
